If I need to stay home, I can last a very, very long time.

Honestly, I think I am not super concerned about that, because I officially do not have a gun...;)

A better question is, if something does happen, where you have to evacuate and your family is separated, do you have a meeting spot? I am far from paranoid, but I do like being prepared. As for the hospital bag, or weekender, I don't worry about it. My wife loves me, and takes care of it for me. Of course, that is also because I am usually tying up last minute loose ends.

Extra change of clothes, (sweats) toilet paper, food, water purifier, medicine and first aid kit, a couple of tarps, hand sanitizer, leatherman, wind up flash lights and wind up radio, stuff to trade. No guns or ammo. We put one together after 9/11 because of all the rumors that were happening, and we are down wind of a nuke plant. Since that time, we have just rotated the food, and from time to time fire up the flash lights and radios. Once you have it, it is simple to maintain. We have had to put larger clothes in as our kids got bigger.

Purchasing rebuilt power washer
Scott Stone replied to KGILL's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
In my state, that type of machine cannot be sold for more then what the repair ticket is. I would make sure I saw the ticket. The only place I have seen a pressure pro machine is on the back of trucks that are cruising me while I am working. I really and honestly know nothing about them. -
Ethical way to receve payment from Power washing owner to another company owner
Scott Stone replied to nlantz's question in The Club House
Just my opinion, Get over it and move on. If you don't want to wash Fleets, just go ahead and do the type of work that you think you want to do. Sometimes you just need to keep moving forward, and not worry about how you were not treated properly in the past. That just drags you down, and incapacitates you. -
Jon ain't hearing about anything...He is nearly deaf. Good to see you on here, Jon. Tell Remy hey, and happy new year to you.

What's you vehicle of choice...and why?
Scott Stone replied to Beth n Rod's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
The trucks I just bought have the ford 6.2 gas motor in them. I am impressed. They have plenty of power, seem to run great, and actually sound like they have guts, just idling. Of course, I think the whole fleet is under 10,000 miles all together, so we will see how they will hold up. -
India can be your friend...Just saying.

Question about service and equipment
Scott Stone replied to brian22's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
There are a few things I don't like about the Hotsy. The angle iron frame is a bit suspect to me. Really, tubing is a lot stronger, and looks better, but that is my personal bias. Also, there pumps, like Landas pumps are proprietary. The Hotsy hawk pumps are a bit more difficult to get parts for, though. I know nothing about Pressure Tek machines. I am not sure that I have ever seen one. -
8 GPM COLD vs. 5.6 GPM HOT!! ?
Scott Stone replied to White WASH's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
oh, how I hate thermal relief valves. i have never had one last, and think they are nothing more then a cash transplant device. transplanting my cash into a manufacturers pocket. Personally, I prefer the 5.6 machines, but I also am always carrying water, and need to conserve. -

Nah, I don't have one. You can't make any money on government contracts. -

Lowering a trailer height by 2-3 inches
Scott Stone replied to John T's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
keep in mind that the listed height of the garage is the lowest ceiling point in the garage, and with only an inch or two difference, you will likely be able to take your trailer through parking garages just fine. I trim my truck antenna to an inch taller then the highest point on the trailer, and if it hits, i pay attention for potential problems. everyone has different experiences though, so you need to do what makes you comfortable. -
On of my customers asked me if I could help out with her fund Raiser
Scott Stone replied to John T's question in The Club House
Shameless self promotion. Honestly, I just had service that My wife and I do in the community work out to our benefit in a big way. If you aren;t involved in something, you should be. It is embarassing when it is brought up, at least it was for us, but sometimes your horn needs to be tooted by someone else. -

Mischief managed. And from all accounts, it was very well received. The charming and delightful boy struck again.

I like the barbie car idea. My wife wants to load it with honey buns and say that she could take his buns anywhere. I guess the plan is to do it during the girl's all girls choir at school. My boys figured out it is more fun to hang with the hot chicks that sing, rather then a bunch of sweaty guys.

You really need to see the suggestions. Believe me, if some young guy responded to my daughter that way, she would qiuckly become Rapunzel.

Yeah, you guys know me well enough to know that is not the way I roll, and I would likely kill my son if he tried, but he won't because he is too much like me. Major difference is, at that age, girls like him. They never did like me. Those guys are nuts, and more then a little perverted.
