Someone offered to take you out for me, but he is too busy to do it this week. I could arrange to trip the fail safe I installed on a machine that you bought last year, but, I am not of a mind to do that. ;) I guess I will just chalk it up to jealousy.:rotfl: Scott Stone

  7. Faith vs. Fact (Creation vs. Evolution)

This is a classic legal response, that there is no higher law than the law of man. Personally, I believe that we are held accountable to the laws of man here on earth. There is also a higher law, that is the law of God. There are times that things happen that are legal, but are not moral and ethical. The laws that govern morality, and ethics, are the laws of God. Often, people think that these are things that are instilled in parents, but, usually, if someone views it they realize that if someone does not see what is wrong with doing something, the thought that something is not wrong was instilled by parents at a very young age. Trying to say that the laws of man supplant the laws of God is a fallacious argument. The laws of man are an imperfect being or group of beings trying to interpret the laws of God. Scott Stone

  10. Faith vs. Fact (Creation vs. Evolution)

Littlefield says that the Bible is correct as stands, Paul say that some "unimportant" things and things that records show are fallacious are removed. The question is who is right? Sometimes, people could remove some things that they think is not important, yet for people of another religious persuasion it is really important. Who gets to decide? Have you ever seen a Jehovahs Witness bible? Not meaning to pick on them, but it is an excellent example. They claim it was translated from the original Latin and Hebrew texts, yet it is their religions policy not to give credit to people that do that kind of work for the "church." That means that we cannot even be certain that the Bible that they have translated themselves was correctly translated, because we do not know the qualifications of the scholars that did it. If you review it further, there actually missing passages that someone thought were not important enough to include in their translation. Some of the excluded verses contradict their religion, and some are verses, that if put in a context with the whole, give additional meaning. It is the same with any translation of the bible. Not only can translations be different for the same item, but an individuals translation can be different as well. Another reason that I do not think that every word in the Bible was perfect, The Gutenberg press was invented in the 1400's. Before that the only Bibles that were out there were hand written by Monks in an Monastery somewhere. There were various iterations, according to which Monk did the transcript. Then take into account additional things, like a particular writing style, and that could throw off any future additions of the Bible. Then throw in additional problems, such as the problems of translating from one language to another. I have read the Bible in two languages, and compared and contrasted them while reading. Interestingly, the translation in French was based off the King James version of the Bible, which was the English Bible that I was using, and the Douai Bible. Interestingly enough, just in a direct translation, there were many discrepancies in the translation, that I would scratch my head in wonder about. Do not get me wrong, the Bible is the word of God, but some of the translations could really use some work. Now organized religion, this my opinion only. Those that say that they do not believe in Organized religion are looking for the easy way out. They say that Christ never taught about an organized religion. Etc. Etc. Etc. Well, if you believe the Bible (and its' translation;) ;) ) There are many instances that suggest Christ organized a religion while he was in a mortal existence. 1. He had apostles, or a leadership structure 2. He had public meetings, to preach to people, two that come immediately to mind are the fishes and loaves stories. 3. Later, in the Bible it tells that he gave some apostles, prophets, evangelists and teachers, which is obviously a teaching and leadership structure. As always, these are my opinions. By using the Jehovahs Witnesses as an example, I did not mean to offend anyone. I personally believe that everyone should have the right to worship however, whoever, or whatever they want. Just let me do the same. Scott Stone
  11. Faith vs. Fact (Creation vs. Evolution)

You knoe, I have kids, and I could do everything for them, and their lives would be perfect. Unfortunately, they don't learn anything. God could also do everything for us, but he still wants us to learn something. That is why He does not intervene when the Hitler's and the Pope's of the world get on an evil bent. Because of his love for us, he let's us make mistakes so that we can teach ourselves the right way. The teachings of Christ also teach us the right way, as well as Buddha, Mohammed, Abraham ad infinitum... The problem is that as much as we have a resource of what the right way is, people still have weaknesses and don't follow the counsels that they are given. As for the Bible being correct, it has been proven manifold times in a myriad of ways that the ancient priests that used to translate, and write the Bible that there have been changes made. I personally believe that some of them were intentional, and some weren't, but in the final outcome, changes were made. This could have something to do with confusion of religions. If you want to dispute this, I will point to the origianl apocrypha that contains 14 books that used to be in the Bible, that are no longer there, because someone decided that they "did not need to be in there." As for the Evolution VS. Creation controversy, I agree that the Bible talks about seven days, but am convinced that there were seven creative periods. Since they were periods these periods could be an undefined length. Just a few of my opinions, that I usuallly avoid sharing on this type of forum. Scott Stone

  15. Truck washing chemical

I had the owner of Eacochem come out and demonstrate some of his chemicals for me a coupel of years ago. He swore that he could get the Garbage trucks that I was washing clean. He demonstrated, was a horses rearend, and his chemicals did absolutely nothing to touch the truck. He even tried them straight, and I could get better results using hot water. Now, there might have been some changes in formulation since then, or he might have just been tired and not realized what he was using, but he got no results. That equals a no sale for me. What is more is that he would not even let me try some for myself before and after he could not get it to work. Needless to say, I was not impressed. Scott Stone
  16. A few Questions - Power Wash Equipment

  17. Business plan

You can write a business loan off on your taxes, as well. In fact, if you are incorporated, s-corp, etc. You can write anything off that is related to your business off of your taxes. Scott Stone

  20. Sole Proprietor vs. S Corporation?

This is BS. As my attorney says, "any contract is only as good as the opposing attorney is bad." Think of how many times a corporation is sued, and I can guarantee you that a good attorney will also go after the officers of any corporation. What I do: I am incorporated as an S corp. It saves me around $6000 a year in taxes over a sole proprietorship. There might be some extra paperwork involved, but my accountant takes care of all of that at the end of the year, and tax time, and it is really done automatically via computer. As for personal liability, I carry, on the advice of my attorney, an umbrella policy for the times I might get sued for some reason. It is easily paid by the $6000 in tax savings. OF course, most opinions will be different. Scott Stone Ain't I handsome???
  21. Burning Rings of Fire

They are bringing in people from Kern COunty to fight the fires? Dang, I knew nobody liked Bakersfield, but really!!! :( Those fires are close to you, and the difference between your wold fires and ours are that you have a really good fuel in grass that burns fast, and is done. If Arizona has one, it is trees in the forest, which do not threaten my house, and they burn for a really long time, and get really hot. No matter what, they are scary. So Jon, what does it look like in you rneck of the woods? For those of you that do not know, Jon lives right next to San Bernardino. Scott
  22. Is this a whisper wash?

How about an oil drain pan? they are about that size, and you could use bolts to hold it on to the surface cleaner, and nuts to space it away from the cleaner housing. I do not see how the vacuum would slow down the spin action of the spray bar. I can understand how the dirty water. mixed with clean could effect the cleanliness of the surface. SO give it a try. Scott Stone
  23. Is this a whisper wash?

Gee, you mean that I manipulated someone? I would never do that. It is obvious that you aren't willing to help Alan with his quest. :yoda: He needs someone to guide him in his efforts:wink: I had another idea (Everyone says Oh no) Get one of those big plastic mixing bowls. You can sometimes get them for a buck at a dollar store, and use that as the mocked up surface cleaner. Cut a small hole in it for a hose, and a larger hole for the vacuum and turn them bothe on and see what happens. If it is sucking it straight own to the ground, you will need to cut some air holes in it, to get the air moving. Scott
  24. Is this a whisper wash?

Umm, there will be no donations coming from my neck of the woods;) IF you want to rig up a dummy to just see if it will work, then I would not worry about putting the spinner on it. I would just run a garden hose through it, and see if it could capture all of the water. If it does, I would put two hoses to it, and see how it does. If it can capture the water out of two hoses, I would think that it might be worth the experiment to cut in the holes. Scott
  25. Is this a whisper wash?

Jon, Don't you have two surface cleaners? I think that you are closer than I am. Maybe when you do that job for Zippo, you could just leave your extra on your truck. Better yet, drop it off ahead of time for it's modifications, and see what he can do. Scott Actually, couldn't you make up a wood dummy surface cleaenr to see how and if ti would work before you cut into a good surface cleaner? 4 or 5 feet of flex board, and some plywood should do the trick.
