  1. Hey Steve do you guys ever plan on bringing back the Cleaner Network bb? I still have that hooters orange in my head:wink:

No, I have www.chemicaldoctornetwork.com I am trying to build up now. Please feel free to join and add to the site. I plan on trying to get back to the level I once was in the industry after several years of being away. I was working for a company in Nashville part time but it was not going the direction I wanted to go. I have found a new home now and hope to have some events before long. The owner of the company is very receptive to my ideas and approach on things.

  2. I can't say anything about gutter shock other than I THINK it is a spin off from gutter Zap.?.? Might be buytl based?? I personnally like and use the F-13...it is a great house wash and fleet wash it really does a great job on gutters too. I think (and yes am partial to it) it is a must have and will eliminate the need of having a bunch of different chems. My 5 cents!

The Gutter Shock IS NOT a spin off of Gutter Zap.

  3. 1. How many stain colors do you offer your customers to choose from? As I am planning to focus on wood next season, I am wondering if it would be best to offer on a few colors or to offer the full line of colors for a particular brand. I can see positives for both. By offering a full line of colors, the customer may have a better chance of finding the color that matches their style/likes. By offering only a few colors, I would be able to stock up on those particular colors allowing me to save money and not have any interruptions because of possible shipping delays.

    2. What rough percentage of your wood customers are repeat customers? What is the average time between them calling again, 2, 3 or more years?

I would offer 4 or 5 different options, too many choices only creates problems. You will be better off in the long run.

  4. Butyl based degreasers work well on cleaning most gutter stains from asphalt.

Some however, do not come off due to the paint being damaged and one or two things are the issue.

    1. aluminum oxidation. Looks like asphalt issue but appears at the drip edge on the bottom of the gutter.

    2. asphalt material has become 'locked' into the paint and doesn't come off without taking paint as well.

I have to agree with Rod. This is what I said many years ago.

  5. Work is slowing outside so we're working on some office projects - including our MSDS binders. Cold or inclimate weather is an excellent time to make this a priority since new products hit the market every year.

How many keep an MSDS binder not only IN each of your trucks, but also another copy in the office?

What sort of "order" are your sheets in? Are they simply in alphabetical order by product name or chemical name? In case of an emergency, it is vital that someone be able to easily find the sheet.

For those with crews running that may not have mastered speaking English, much less read it - do you have other translations?

I just thought that this was a good time to bring this subject up :)

  6. I have been in search for a good solution to the restaurant that just shuts the doors and claims to be out of biz. By Federal Law, it is required for the facility to provide you with bankruptcy paperwork! I have found a great solution for this. I have been dealing with a company that has legal staff, and will pursue clients that have closed their doors but have not filed for bankruptcy. My opinion is "You still owe me money, until you have lost everything!" Give Dave a call if you want to find out more about his company, and I can tell you he is recovering money that I have already wrote off!

    Welcome to Legal Recovery Systems

On the flip side of the coin in TN if a company files bankrupcy and they have paid money to your company within 90 days of filing they can send you a notice wanting that money returned to the court. I know someone that had exactly that happen to them within the last month. Note: the ammount was $52,000.

  7. Foaming agents do help. Chris is right about reading. A smart man learns by his mistakes, a wise man learns from the mistakes of others. Develope a relationship with your supplier. I know most of the suppliers here and they are great people with respect for each other.many of them I have met in person. In the past I supplied formulas to my customers and still do.

  8. J J Keller sells a vast amount of safety and OSHA info. Everyone should carry an Emergency Response Book. They charge $3.69 each for them and they have a welth of info in them. I found out about them from the D.O.T. You can never stop learning about chemicals, especially what not to mix together. Once you purchase from them they will send you emails about all of their products.

  9. +1 for Timo.

The main components alone do not work as well as a designed mix. Sodium Hydroxide alone will not touch acrylics and will react very harshly to exposed wood creating severe fuzzies and damaging the wood.

Unless you are a chemist, I suggest you stick with cleaners/strippers that were designed by one or hire one to do it for you and private label it.

    Thank You Beth.

I whish I still had the picture of the time I had Rook Magic on my leg that ran into my sock. Within 30 minutes it started eating a hole in my leg the size of a quarter and 1/4 of an inch deep. It took over three months to heal. Many here may remember that.

  10. MY email is activated now. We are working on the website and hope to have the products and prices listed soon. I want to thank everyone for the warm welcome back.
