  1. Newbie mistake

yea that roof snot is a great surfactant. really clings to walls roofs whatever. but you do not need much as litttle as 3 to 5 ounces per 5 gallon pail of house mix.
  2. refrences are a must, get a customer with a project that is a couple years old that way you can see the real end result. pay the extra dollars, when done correctly by a reputable wood specialist your deck will look spectacular for years to come. you will find exccuses to sit out on the deck.
  3. what kills me John, It only takes these wood gurus like 10 hours to do these crazy jobs.
  4. Thank you Beth I appreciate the nice words. coming from you that is a huge compliment. I would never have dreamed in a million years that I would be doing this type of work, I find it very satisfying when i can turn these decks around. I really enjoy seeing the homeowners face when they see it done. I started talking to a gentleman this spring about staining his home. I brought him samples of ready seal and armstrong clark. he never even looked at them. he went through samples of sikkens, cabbots, super deck and then this product called seal-once. he called me last night and said he hates them all and wants to look at the A/C. I am happy about that. I will bring him a sample of all the semi trans i have but want him to really look at the amber. I washed the house 2 weeks ago so he needs to pull the trigger pretty quick on this. Let me end this with a big thank you to all the proffesional people that take the time to help others. without your knowledge and expertise many people would be lost.
  5. Ready seal went and changed up the color names a little while ago. ready seals lightest semi is golden pine.
  6. thanks for the save Shane, thought i was loosing my mind. Right on Charlie I do need to keep records of that stuff. good thing I can remember LOL. going to go through and put that together now. Thanks for the tip. i did do a 3 to 1 ( 3 )oxford brown and( 1 ) redwood, that would be the mystery color
  7. not to sure about cleaning your new timbers. but there is a stain i saw in one of the local paint stores called super deck stain its a Duckback product.I never used it but they have 60 tints. check it out
  8. what , what what, oh thats right i used ready seal on that one, lol oops, I know it was pecan.
  9. I just did a deck with A/Clark pecan. it really was a nice color. cant go wrong with the armstrong clark. much darker than the amber in Charlies picture.
  10. I would definitly like to attend one though. It would be a great experience to meet some people and hear the latest industry buzz. also buy some new equipment and attend some classes. I bet the commaraderie would be strong. maybe next year.
  11. I dont discount the trianing offered by these orgs. i am sure they have valueble insight. but a week in the field with a pro is priceless.

  16. Thanks everyone, I used the readyseal that much i remember, what color i cant remember. I have been mostley using A/C and ready seal. did one a couple weeks ago with a/c 3 part oxford brown and 1 part redwood. color was nice, went beautiful against the white colums and trim work. I love those stains, so easy to work with.
  17. for me personally I would spend that money on going to a respected and proffesional to train in the area of pressure washing that I do ( wood .) I would pay a fee to this professional and spend a week learning everything I could. That to me would be a wise investment.
  18. Wish me luck

You got the lakes, I got the mountains. Gotta love the second homes for these people. Hows that deck coming?
  19. Should I upgrade my PW?

I also have a 4 gpm and want more, 6/8 gpm and you are moving much faster. doing residential I only use my hot water to mix my chems. Hot water is a need for other jobs. you should be able to find a good used unit for much less than 8k
