  1. I ordered the coil and replaced it,still no crank,I unplugged the green wire coming from lower portion of the block and it fired right up.I guess this is the low oil sensor.apparently bad, plugged back together and it kills the engine. The coil was cheap enough to try. I think i'll just keep a check on the oil and the heck with the sensor.

  2. I have a honda GX 390 that is probably 14 years old . I have never had a problem with it until the other day when it started spitting and cracking and would catch back up if I let off the wand. Now it has quit completely and will not start. It is getting plenty of fuel but is not getting any fire. does this engine have a control module or coil or both.I just use it around the house so I am trying to fix myself, any suggestions please.

  3. The only thing I would probably add is to go with kohler or honda engine and the general pump. I had a cat pump on a cold water unit that I bought from northern 12 years ago during part time biz. They were expensive to work on then, may be different now. I still have and use this one from time to time and the honda engine still fires on at least the third pull and runs like a top. It now has a general pump though. I bought the rk-43 from delco almost 3 years ago. The only regret I have with this one is the 12 volt system even though I haven't had any problems with it so far. I hope I didn't just jinx that.

  4. Ladies,and (ahem)Gentlemen,

The Dow Jones Industrials hit 12,000.00 for the first time in the history of the index!!!

Amongst the din of the Bush hating shills, this has been overshadowed.

    Election time draws near.

Please consider that when taxes are slashed, not hiked...the gov't revenue soars, investment dollars flood the markets, people that generate revenue, keep more of their spoils, spend more of their spoils, might even SAVE!!!!more of their spoils,GIVE MORE OF THEIR ABUNDANCE!!!

    Extreme taxation,extreme regulation strangles prosperity!

IMOHO If we give the likes of N.Pelosi,Schumer..etc,ad nausem, control, this prosperity will vanish. They WILL repeal the tax cuts that President Bush is responsible for, they WILL abandon the protection of this country, they WILL enbrace the UN's efforts to overthrow this countries soveringty. If these are things you desire, you'll love it.If these are items that repulse, and disgust you...CRUSH THEM WITH YOUR VOTE!!!

    Anyhoo...GO VOTE.

love stuff like this from a blue state resident.

  5. I did an experiment last week with the old "squirt of Dawn". The comparison to using a proper detergentwas not even in the same league. What brought on the comparison was siding that I wasn't sure was oxidized and going to give up paint to a caustic. I used half a bottle of Dawn and about 2% sod. hypo. hitting house. It looked like it came clean in most areas but there were some stubborn spots so I switched over and downstreamed my housewash concentrate onto that spot. Voila.. much mor dirt emulsified and rinsed away. So much so that when we came back to that side after cleaning a porch we had to rewash the whole thing with "real" detergent.

My opnion is.. if you are going to charge $100/hr plus for housewashing at least spend the extra few dollars per house and give the customer the value they are paying for. This also wasn't a fluke experiment. Many times during experimentation with my current housewash I had to increase the strength of the concentrate to get it to really work. Car wash or "Dawn" was always present so the mitigating factor is definitely the right caustic.

Ken, I know some of the guys here use some of the overpriced housewash soaps, but I think housewashing in the south is a little different than in the northern states. We are only washing away mildew, spider webs and surface dust or pollen. We are not dealing with the pollutants and carbon staining. I have tried the stuff to see if it would help with gutters and I still had to brush them.I only use the dawn as a surfactant to make the bleach cling. The only added effect it has in my opinion is the windows sparkle after using dawn as do my drinking glasses after using dawn on them. Occasionally I do have situations where I need alittle extra punch, but I have the juice for them when I need it. Rest assured that my customers are getting there monies worth when I'm finished.
