for your wand. Got a new guy and want to turn him loose on a deck job? Buy the training wheel's. It look's like a slingshot with wheels. Clips onto the wand and is adj to diffrent height's/distances. just set it and forget it. No more lap marks untill you get to the spindals. What will they come up with next?

i think testing with beth's idea is best to start out with. You are going to have a lot of carbon deposit's on that house from fallout from the planes The r109 will help with this but if it were me i would just add limonlene to the r109 and a squirt of dawn to make foam.

HD-80 on plant life
ron p replied to John T's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
your just plain lucky. 80 will kill plantlife and 80 should only be kept wet with more 80 not just water,it deluite's it too much. -
I grew up in redondo beach. Fished that horseshoe peir for year's. God i miss that place.

understand's me but im glad some do. "i dont reckon i understand all of it, but i reckon i understand a great deal of it,unn huu" my favorite line from SLINGBLADE. bY THE WAY ive never even seen a wallmart. My post was about demographic's. The diffrent word's that describe the same thing can determine where you grew up. I eat a SUB, you might eat a itialian sandwich,or a grinder, or a hoagie,torpedio,ect... What do you call a sandwich that is made at a pizza place? ham, salamy, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, viniger, oregeno, and HOT PEPPER'S. We call them subs some call them heartburn. Jimmies, sprinkle's are ice cream topping's I know people that buy EVERYTHING at wallmart. Ive never seen a walmart. Ive lived in a lot of place's and was just remembering a better, simpler time.

i want opinions and advice on water softening systems. mobile type to add to my rig.

go with MORGAN, forget my post. Maybe trade for some chicken's or have them butcher a deer for you. "fetch me my shootin iron woman, im goin huntin" Im just bustin chopp's. Im just funnin youuu. If you put JIMMIES on your ice cream and not SPRINKLES, charge If you wear TENNIES and not SNEAKER'S then charge less. If you eat HERO'S or GRINDER'S and not SUB'S then charge less. If WALLMART is the only place you shop, charge less. If you buy fuel at THE FILLING STATION and not the GAS STATION charge less. If you shoot your dinner before you eat, charge less. If you grow your dinner charge less. If your grandpa built your house, charge less. If DAIRY QUEEN and WALLMART are the only 2 places to buy ice cream, charge less. If the smallest section of WALLMART'S music section is RAP then thank god your a country boy. I once felt the grass growing between my toes, now i have a mexican cut my lawn. I used to fish 3 day's a week. Now im lucky to eat fresh fish once a month. Funny how joining the rat race turn's you into a rat. Did'nt even see it comeing. I remember what a day off felt like but even a day of no work is not a day off. Maybe it's time to re-evaluewait my situation?

im not picking on par. pro wash but his comparasion to washing a mobile home is way off. No mobile home is 22 ft at the gable end's. Get the job but dont give it away.

grease the top salesmen from the major lumber yards in your area. They know the major builder's and have phone number's. -
load range and PSI can be rated higher then the recomended load and PSI of the stock rim. psi is nothing to be taken lightly. TRUST ME 16 INC lock ring type truck rim 85 psi 5 deg taper rim with a 7 ged taper loc ring-fresh from a junk yard, never told me. the loc ring had a 9 second hang time and was est. to have reached over 120 ft before returning to earth. concussion broke my arm,the ring could have easyly taken my arm or worse. i still do tires everyday but my luck is running out as fast as my back is running out on me. Gotta stop jerking around and just do pressure washing. I installed 4 20.5 x 25 on a cat 925 this morning with A JACK,3 BAR'S,TIRE HAMMER,AIRGUN AND MY BACK. All for $14 per hour. Took me 5 hrs. I bill out $80 per hour washing truck's. What's wrong with me? WINTER

Dwell time for Oxalic Acid on Concrete
ron p replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Chemicals & Safety
I feel that the oxalic acd only work's when iron deposites are the problem or you use a caustic detergent first. It's like 2 stepping. White ox sell's cement brightner and oxalic is the main chem. Also the type of sand used in the cement mix can make a diffrence. If they use the brown sand, it wont brighten much. I dont rinse the acid. Sorry it took so long. -
par pro wash would wash a building 22 ft high for .50 per lin ft. NOT ME. A x-jet is a great tool but for metal building's it is prob only good for aplying the chem. Then you may need an exstension wand. Maybe not. As far as chem it depends on the type of soil your going to be removeing. I would recomend LIMONLENE and DAWN applied with hot water/via x-jet. Then wash with x-jet and/or the exstension wand. Then a downstream wax applied cold to rinse. $1 per lin ft. at the min. but that's me. I am not looking at the job. Maybe it's a splash and dash. Im a truck washer mostly and have 2 step chem's. So i could do this job fast with an x-jet but the chem cost's are high. So maybe $1.50 a lin ft.

pool shock in powder form. It contain's filler's. So to mix a powder that has filler's in it you need to use all of it. If not every scoop can/will be diffrent. Also it will weaken every day you dont use it. I suggest sticking with reg ol store bought bleach or try a percab bleach. EFC38

Jon, go to a shop that sell's tires from a car tire to a loader tire. Not just a car/truck tire center. Ask about COOPER radial A/T's real good tire that wont break the bank. Remember, ive been in the tire buiss. for 15 years. Their are 3 rateings molded into the sidewall of every tire. 1 is proformance [RATED BY A LETTER] 2 is traction[RATED BY A LETTER] 3 is TREADWEAR[RATED BY A NUMBER] So a top of the line tire for your corvette would be a A A 425 For a truck that is mostly used on road a B A 360 [or higher] maybe even a B B 360 because less aggressive tires wear longer. If COOPER'S are not available i would go with bridgestone's.

from nail's in cedar. Black streak's by nail head's on floor. Is sanding the only way to remove them? This is my first sikken's coated cedar deck. Hard time with spindal's Am going to return with rubber gloves, hd80, scotch brite pads, and windex bottle's Spindel's are only 1 inc apart and i am having a hard time getting between them. Im taking a butt kicking because I DID'NT TEST FIRST. DUMBA$$ i am. I stripped it 3 times, i'll never use hd80 on a cold cloudy day again for sikken's. Full strangth,30 min dwell. Man that hd80 sure makes that old finnish SLIPPERY as it eat's at it.
-
Went back to check on the deck. All the black streak's are back. Crap! This deck is going to kill me. Now i have to buy a detail sander to get the top inc and a half of every spindle. Beth, do you have a pic of the light brown over cedar[wood-tux]? What is the re-coatability of wood-tux? If i ordered it friday, would i get it by wed? 5 pails-free ship? Can i mix colors to get my 5 gal order?
-
oxalic fixed the tannin marks. Still have to hand sand about %20 of the spindals. Went through about 20 scotchbrite pad's and strippered it 3 times. Deck never see's direct sunlight. What finnish would you use? sikkins was still good, but turned black. I want something re-coatable, without stripping. I dont want to use penofin on this deck. Maybe CWF-UV?
-
i think it was the citric that might have caused it. i'll try the oxalic.

along with your pet pieve, i wish people would stop posting "applied with the x-jet" when refferring to their mix and application. diffrent GPM wash unit's have diffrent draw rates when useing a X-JET. iF HEAVY DUTY HD80 is 8 oz to the gal of water and applied at 100%[pump-up] and 1 gal of water cant hold more then 8 oz per gal. How would you ever be able to apply heavy duty stripper with a x-jet? you cant. Now without being labled a trouble maker. A well known chem salesman uses his product with an x-jet. So let's do the math and let's see out of these 2 strippers, which one is more cost effective. Both by cost per gal and application time. Anyone on this bbs use both strippers? Heck might as well add another one to the test tracy, beth, steve, greg all sell heavy duty strippers. Which one work's the best and what is the cost per APPLIED gal? Simple question.
-
what goes up, must come down. Be safe. Have you tried limonlene to clean them gutter's? Also, do you know about 2 stepping? When an acid meet's a base, it cause's an exsplosion. In this case the exsplosion is more of a pop and pop's the dirt off. Find out the PH of GZ and after you apply and let dwell. Hit it with the opisite end of the PH scale. Thus, 2 stepping it. Try GZ followed by limonlene, then rinse. It's all in the chemistry.

i know some guy's use a x-jet as a downstreamer for applying truch cleaning chem's but i have no use for a x-jet in truck washing, other then used as a mud knocker. My truck chem's use a very high delution rate so no need for the x-jet. Hmmmmmm. close range tip and apply the stripper. Some do,some dont. if the water can only hold x amount of product and the x-jet applies at 2 to 1, how would you get the right mix on the surface?

Dwell time for Oxalic Acid on Concrete
ron p replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Chemicals & Safety
OTP if your just washing with hot water and no chem. You wont see much brightining effect. Unless iron deposites were present. -

carpet cleaners use far less volume of water. So heat exchangers work well for them. Some smart guy has started installing heat exchanger's on the plumbing pipes in hair salons now. The waste water heat's up the incoming water so the water heater work's less.
