i will let a more qualified person ans these question's. I will say this sodium hydroxide is the main chem in easy-off oven cleaner. It is made with this because it eat's oil. Your roof shingles are made of oil and rock. If the rock is covering the oil, then no problems. If the rock's are worn off, then problems. Cleaning mold off rock's is diffent then cleaning mold off wood. So mean popa, if you were the mfg. of hd80 and knew that most other sod. hyd. based roof cleaners were sold in liquid form. Why would'nt you be marketing your "cheaper to ship powder" as a roof cleaner? Why would one dist. advocate the use of a x-jet to apply a sod. hyd. cleaner and another dist say " not to use the the x -jet"? Why dont hood cleaners use HD80? wHY IS'NT HD80 marketed as a roof cleaner? EASY RUSS feel's it's unsafe to use hd80 this way. Other's dont. If i wanted to kill mold and had percarb bleach and oven cleaner in my cabnet, i would use the percarb. that was all i was saying.

hd80 was not designed to kill mold, efc was. I can take a bath in efc but not hd80 I can wash a house with efc, not hd80. I can spray efc with my x-jet. Not hd80 [unless you feel lucky] I dont worrie about plant life when i use efc. Why use a sledge hammer to hang a picture hook? I know dulition is the solution but it's still not made to kill mold. to each his own.

i think you need to get the pump out of the drum. A float valve to turn it off and on. mount pump to outside of drum and connect with piefittings through to bottom of the tank.

Masking Non-Working Areas.
ron p replied to Paul B.'s question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
wedge in some strips of alum. flashing. Then duct tape and plasic sheeting. Pre-wet wood to get a cling between plastic and sideing.[add some dawn to the water] -
brighting. Even though the ecf wont change the PH of the wood as much a a SH based stripper, the tannin in the wood can make it look dark. brightner is cheap and fast. use it.

if i were you, i would buy both. i got caught with my pant's down because i thought the efc would do the job and it did'nt. my bad, i should have tested before going to the job to do the work.

This is what i do to max. the life of my equipment from the pressure reel to the tip. Start with good quality pressure hose use a langth of hose that min. or eleminate's connections if you do need connection's and allmost never dis-connect use a double female brass fitting that has flat sides not QD[no leaks-easy to get apart] *tip use some never sieze on the female threads and teflon tape on the males If you use 200 ft of pressure line or more you should have a dampner installed on your wash unit. You can send a pressure spike back to your wash unit that could cause it to burst or cause serious damage to your pump. At the end of the pressure line i highly suggest a in-line high pressure swivel. This prevent's line twisting, wear on the QD fitting's,releaves unwanted stress on the operator and equipment. Then i suggest a 5 ft whip hose[jumper hose]. All QD should flow from male[plug] to female[coupler]. Now sometimes you need to switch attachment's and dont want to return to the wash unit to shut it down. This is where a high pressure ball valve come's into play. [switching from surface cleaner to wand to remove a piece of gum or to rinse for exsample] For this i like to install the QD fitting's directly to the valve. This allows me to use it when i need it and remove it when i dont.[why have the extra weight if you dont need it?] *tip for large areas of surface cleaning you want to reduce fatiuge as much as you can. Some replace the trigger gun with a ball valve, some use the third hand, some zip tie open the gun I find pulling the pressure line to be the hardest on the arm's and back. For this, i use a carpenters hammer holster on my belt and a langth of velcro stap to secure the pressure line to that. As i walk it follows. My legs do the work, not my back. *note the only time i dont use male to femal is at the wand tip. Anyone have anything to add?

who the contractor is in your area that services TGIF resteraunts and BLOCKBUSTER vidio. This research will give you a better idea about your local market. Market research in YOUR area my be the total opsite then mine. Look before you leap.

of everything and report back. Simple is the key to doing this. Make sure the "el cheapo" car alam unit has a 200 ft range. 50 ft wont cut it. 150 would pass the test. Where are you going to look for the 2 switch's. The one that controls the soap and the one that controls the heater? Their was a guy"fishguy" was his name. He took a exstension cord and taped it to his pressure line and had his set-up HARD WIRED. Any opinions on this? He could remotely control his at any langth. You would think some smart co would sell wired pressure hose and a cheap control. Make the system pretty cheap to buy and make money selling the replacement hose's.

you are incorrect about EPP'S. Micheal is the reason i even started this subject. His knowalge earns him respect and his post's on needing a dampner on runs over 150 ft. is the only reason i even knew anything about them. His post was on delco's oldest bbs.

i cut that board two times and it's still to short. Little boy goes to the lumber yard and ask's the man for some wood. The man say's "what kind of wood? little boy said "i dont know, i'll ask my dad" Boy comes back and said "i need a 4 x 2" the man said "all we got is 2X4's" Little boy said"i'll be back, i need to ask my dad". Little boy returns and say's "a 2x4 will be fine" The man say's "how long would you like it?" Little boy said" we need it for a long time, were building a house"

a-plus do you like the emulsifier plus better then limonlene? Do you both for diffrent types of soil's?

single out the most important thing that you learned from the BBS [any bbs on pressure washing] What would it be? Second question. If you were to start out from scratch, with what you know now, what would you do diffrently? Would you do it again?[go into pressure washing that is]. Lastly, what do you see yourself doing 5 year's from now? [be honest]

Did you just get by or have you fixed it so your happy? chems equipment maintance selling collecting advertising start-up money employee's finding work learning "how-to" trying to grow getting to your goal paperwork accounting reclaim breakdown's finding commerical work winter weather [add one if i did'nt hit on your's]

the Wiz posted a pic of a surface washer that had pre-spray tip's mounted to the front of a surface cleaner then the reg hook-up. twin gun's. pretty cool looking.

people want ans. not questions. this can ans a lot of questions if more would post questions. Why are "newbies" not posting? Are we just spreading out the reg's? That's not helping. Come on, one new guy, just one, restore my faith. Help me,help you.

that the evauluation would be followed by the they way/ratio/dwell/ect.... that the person responding would talk about. This is how the seller/mfg could benifet from the post. maybe the end user is doing something wrong? maybe the product just is not up to par? Who is willing to put it on the line? If i sold or mfg. a product i would want it to be the best and for people to use it correctly. Would'nt you? I strive to be the best, even if i loose money. That was my fault, if i under est. customer satisfaction is number 1!!!!!!!! 75% of my buissness comes to me because of my reputation. 25% because im the only contractor that returns a simple phone call. That's no bull stuff.

Howard from another bbs takes this to the exstream. On his small unit's,the take the unit to the surface type, he installs a valve in the bypass hose and let's the water flow out by a certian amount. Just enuff so the unloader is not kicking on and off but flows out enuff to keep enuff freash water flowing in the pump head to keep it cool enuff to let it run in bypass all day. You could just remove the return side and let it all flow out onto the ground.

i have'nt got one that is why im learning. It seems that, with run's of pressure line over 150 ft, when you release the trigger or turn off the valve it can send a 4000psi spike back to the pump and blow out the seals. Dave olsen has one but it was $800, im looking for one like A-plus has. Where would you find a new one A-plus? Daaaaaa Mark at easy clean, right?

"selling outfit's" and " working outfit's" My wash outfits are custom tie dye. lol Where you are, i would were loud prints and light colored pant's.

Is their a way to post a list of specific cleaning chems. Then have a voter pole and a comment thread from everyone that post's a comment about that cleaner? What bbs will have the brass to put their product's up against the rest for some user commentary? I mean honest responses, with no reguard for ownership of their bbs. No disrespect just honest opinions. I think it could help sellers and mfg. as well as us, the contractor's. Most allready have on-line tiff's anyway's. What's the opinion on my "consumers Reports" for the contractor by the contractor? You Said "shake it up" well im "shaken it here boss"[steve McQueen-cool hand luke]

www.cairns-mfg.com dont be going "hollywood" with that fancy stuff

has not been around lately. He would draw you one in a heartbeat. You prob. dont really need a pic. because very few contractors use UPSTREAM chems. If you dont use chems before the pump and coil[upstream] you dont need all those valves. just remove the short jumper hose from the unloader and put a longer hose on the outflow back to your supply tank. You see that short hose recirculates that pint or two[?] of water over and over and it get's hotter and hotter when left in bypass. When hooked to a tank it recircluates the volume of the tank water and stay's much cooler. unless you are into fleetwashing you rearly ever need to upstream[high pressure chem]
-
chems clean, not pressure. very very good. i would def. put that in the top 5.
-
if you plumb it the way i said jon you can run both upstream and downstream but it cant be left running in bypass for long when upstreaming. oward now that you have the plumbing of the supply water in order, how meney chems do you use when you downstream or upstream? I have 5 plus the x-jet and sure-flo pump. When do you want to get into that? Are you happy with just changing the line from bucket to bucket? I was at first but it get's old, fast. I now use 5 20 gal barrells and 2 for chems that i put in 5 gal buckets for use with the x-jet.
