  1. Yes, you will need at least a 4gpm machine to run that surface cleaner, if you want to make any money.
  2. Leasing

What are the names of Leasing companies that everyone is successful with?
  3. Leasing

That is the same lease I did JOSH but have the $1 buy out at the end. There are a lot of extra stuff you will have to pay for throughout the year and they will add there fee to it as well. Save yourself the aggravation and just buy it yourself or save up the money and make a bug down payment. The lease will cost you a lot more in the long run than you will have. With my lease payments I could have paid off my rig by now and have it free and clear, instead I still have 18 more lease payments to go.
  4. Leasing

DO NOT LEASE ANYTHING! I am halfway into a 3 year equipment lease and when it is all done I could have easily bought two new rigs like i want them. Worst business move I have even done!
  5. upgrade pump?

You can buy a very good 8 gpm machine for 2500 to 3000 new just have to add a burner for heavy commercial accounts that have oil/ grease.
  6. Mosmatic Surface Cleaner Question???

It sounds line you need to rebuild to swivel. If water is shhooting out of those holes the seals inside are bad and need replacing.
  7. Interior lights

I clean hood so I have access to power. I use 6 halogen lights mounted on the top of my trailer. Each side is wired to it own switch so that I am only running what is needed. Inside the trailer I have 2 4' florescent lights. I have used the LED rope lights in the bed of my truck before. The LED rope lights work great and use very light power. They do not put off a lot of light if your needing them to work under, but are great to light an area so that you can see what you need.
  8. I agree with Clark, help all those who you want that are not direct competition. If they are a direct competitor tell them business is business and if you want to help then refer then to someone out of area for assistance.
  9. If they live/ work in the main areas you do business.
  10. Wife's PhD

    Voted as well.
  11. Good luck, all the wiring does is makes a loop through the switches if the power is on at every switch the burner will ignite. If you have a multimeter you can start at one and make your way step by step through the system still you are back at the burner/ controls. Doing it this way may take you a minute or two but you will know how your system works.
  12. I had the same problem with my pressure switch. Just changed one wire and it fired right up. Mine only uses two of the three wires to operate. Take your old switches apart and see how they are wired and then look at your new switches installed and see where they are wired wrong.
  13. buffer tank

I do not have to haul water to the jobs but I have several sidewalk jobs per night on my routes. You are right water supply varies greatly from one location to the next. Most have between one and 3 water hook ups. I know I will have to double feed my tank as I currently have a 6gpm and soon a 9 gpm machine on the trailer. I will rarely use both machines at the same time but it is possible on a few locations. Should I go ahead on triple feed my 225 tank currently in the trailer. ( The 9 is a new machine being added soon).
  14. buffer tank

So I really need either 225 being double feed or a 525 single feed to make it all work?
  15. buffer tank

Whats the smallest tank you guys would recommend for a 9 gpm machine? Doing several 1 hour or so jobs per night and dont want to care more water than needed.
  16. Call or go to one of these websites and you can get a 12": KECSupplies.com ; Lances.
  17. I cant seem to find the operating fuel pressure for my Wayne burner. I have been told everything from 110 PSI to 200 PSI. I am having problems with it sooting up every 40 hours. What should it be set at?
  18. Its a new machine with 100 hours on it and I have had to clean the coil twice from being clogged. Both times the filters were all clean and both times I put in new filters before starting back up with new fuel. I have had people tell me to have the fuel pressure set at 110 some all the way up to 200.
  19. Thats me I get r1 hose and hope it last a year or more. I have have new hoses ran over by garbage truck and crush them, that was a bad night. For that reason alone if have started caring 100' to 200' of extra hoses just in case that happens again. Also the jumper hose from the machine to the reel, i try to carry one of those in the trailer if possible. I hate to use a 100' hose for a 10' if I don't have too. You will rarely have a problem during the day its when you doing a job in the stick or 2 in the morning that a hose will blow or something simple will fail.
  20. I am new as well been doing this for about 5 years now and have a very good friend locally that does the same work. I have been a member of this board for about a year and can tell you first hand to listen to the people that do this stuff every day. The sales people may have a good product but at what cost. People that do this stuff everyday have spend a lot of money finding what works and what doesn't work or last. Take what info they give you and apply it to what work you do It will save you time and money in the long run. I have learned on thing in the last few years: Its not how much you make its how much you keep. We all make really good money most days but it does cost a lot to keep it all going- equipment, advertising, all those things we just have to have that don't work like we want. Sorry for the rambling on and on just wanted to let you know this profession is not cheap and it take a lot on money to keep it going monthly.
  21. What do you guys think of this hose? Good price and quality or keep looking? Pressure Hose GoodYear Non Marking 4000 PSI Blue
  22. I use a 200' 3/8 Goodyear hose stand up good to the abuse. I have had 2- 100' hoses and the connection is a pain to work around as it will catch on everything and the hose doesn't wind up as it should.
  23. Buy all the equipment individually and put it together yourself. It will have you a lot of money. I bought my rig complete from BCE Cleaning Systems in GA. The rig works great and I love the machine but I could have saved a lot if I had build it myself. And if i have put it all together myself I would have seen a few things that would not or well where they were installed and moved then. Now its hard to rearrange a cargo trailer full of stuff.
  24. I have a ball tee exiting the tank 1 1/2 on going to the pressure washer and one going to my other tank( one tank is supply the other is antifreeze during the winter, just have one tank open at a time) with a ball valve on both tanks at the tee. right past the tee I have a water filter, make sure you use good suction hose as it will collapse normal hose.
