One residential machine??
mike movila replied to Dave's Precision Mowing's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Hello Dave and welcome to this board. Evidently there are pros and cons to every method that you may choose. If you are considering using a twelve volt pump for both applications house washing and roof cleaning there are some things to consider. Twelve volt pumps are mainly used for roof washing as they are very durable hence the air pump are also used exclusively by roof washers due to the durability to the Sodium Hyprocloride. If you are trying to save money and use one machine for both applications roofs and house washing I would consider a gas driven pump, the drew back is that these machines are not very durable so you would have to do some research to find what fits you best. If you want to do roofs I would suggest you look for some one in your area that is willing to take you under thier wing and provide you with some training. The key to a successful operation is to have to the proper training that will definitely save a lot of head aches in the future. One name that comes to mind when it comes to roof cleaning is Chris Tucker, a very nice man that will help get going. Good luck to you. -

Cleaning hydrolic oil from brick and fiber cement siding
mike movila posted a question in Residential Pressure Washing
Today I have been contacted by General contractor that has completed building a bueatiful home in a neighboring town. The contractor informed me that one of the hydrolic fluid hoses broke and parts of the brick as well siding as well as some of windows and driveway had been covered by hydrolic oil. I have removed oil from driveway however not from brick or cement siding. Just looking for some advise from people that have worked on project of this nature and some ideas. I know hot water and good degreaser is a must just looking for some techniques to make my job easier. Did not see the job he is to send me some pictures. Thank you. -

I believe Paul with power wash store sells it -
I also have done quiet a bit of work for Real Estate agents in my area. What has worked for me personally is developing a good working relationship with those top sales agents and reward them with small gifts after a few jobs that goes a long way especially when you do excellent work.

mike movila replied to Dfloyd0106's question in Residential Pressure Washing
The rust stains can be removed by using either F-9 or oxalic acid. As far as your other project check out www.diedrichtechnologies.com They should be able to help you with your project. Good luck. -

Rust spots that appear after house wash in the soffit
mike movila posted a question in Residential Pressure Washing
I have washed house for some time without having difficulty getting great results. Once in a while I run into a house that I wash and everything appears ok after wash however when I conduct a final inspection I see these rings around the soffit that look like rust stains. It is very frustrating dealing with this problem. I tried different approaches using wand at different angles keeping distance using less pressure to aliviate the problem. Has any one else encountered this problem and do you guys combat this thank you -

Exterior gutter cleaning
mike movila replied to mike movila's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I have tried both techniques and definitely I have to say that spraying them first works best. I have some houses where house mix works just fine for gutters more often I run into tiger stripes gutters with heavy oxidation but it is all part of job -
In addition to using sodium hypochlorite you have to add an cleaning agent almost any type of soap will work.
