Chemical Sprayer
bulletproof replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Sorry to ruin this thread with the rookie question I'm about to ask, but here goes. The use of chemical sprayers based on what I am reading is for the application of a potentially dangerous chemical at lower pressures safely onto some surface that requires the use of such a chemical in order to be cleaned . At this time my main focus is on house washing , where I live we don't have log homes and any type of siding is rare if at all. My question is then would a sprayer of this type be neccessary for me to have at this time or can I get by with using an x-jet type nozzle for chemical application -
How do you bid a jod ?

boy. I never looked at it that way before and it really does give you alot to consider when estimating these jobs. It's like someone said :" Time is money" and you hardly ever have enough of any -
How do you bid a jod ?

So if you charge by the linear foot which is basically a distance measurement, aren't you short changing yourself by not including the height. How do you compensate for this? -
I have just recently gotten into residential house washing and as I am new to this ,I do not want to self destruct by starting off wrong. My questions are: What chemicals work best on the following? Painted concrete(one that will clean well, but not strip or dull the paint). Painted fascia board(requirements same as above but also including removing mildew). When calculating the square footage of a building is it best to use LxW or LxH? I asked because I feel that with both of these you are loosing, because one dimension is missing from either equation. Or am I mistaken and the correct way would be to calculate LxWxH ?

I was looking at the x-jet proportioner chart on Steven Rowlette's site today , and wondered a few things. What are the color levels for? In the sub-heading under the sign it says water to detergent mixture, is this what the ratios on the chart represent or is it detergent to water? Is the ratio measurement ounces?

When purchasing additional lengths of hose, I know that you should match the new hose size to the size already on the pw (i.e 3/8 to 3/8). Does this also apply to the psi rating ? Is it advisable or in any way advantageous to reasonably exceed this rating (i.e 3000 psi machine with 3500 psi hose ?

I'll read it over a few times and I should get the full understanding of what you just said - thanks.;)

Thanks for the responses guys oh and I am 100% sure that its paint. The surface is usually coated with a sealer/ primer first then painted with an oil based paint. Will the EFC-38 work on this?
