If I only had 3 extras for my machine, it would be a surface cleaner, a turbo nozzle and a X-Jet. LOL

I'm new to the biz, but JLPW put me on the BIG GUY 30. I have done 7 jobs within the last 3 weeks. It is the best piece of equipment I've bought. EASY MONEY, GREAT TIME SAVER. -

Just for an experiment, I have elected to participate in a "buy no Exxon-Mobile gas, the largest of the gas moguls. If their profits go down, I believe, as many do, that they will get the message and you will see prices go down and other companies will follow suit. I don't trust the government, or big oil, or any business with a monopoly to look after us folks. Yes, I listen to FOX, and am thankful for the information from all sides. I am not going to get political, but for those of you that want to know what we can do, why not try our idea ? Buy from the B players, see what the A players do. I agree, alternative fuel is the answer, ultimately, but, in the mean time, let's send a message to the big guys that we ain't gonna take it anymore !

Guys, What chem do you use on a brick house with bad mold ? This is probably somewhere here already but I can't find it. Thanks
-
Yea Mel, I thought I read that from you before. I guess that all I can do is work and learn the machine with different tips, wands, etc. and figure it out as I go, As my local '' EXPERTS'' can't seem to get ur dun !

Got my rig back from ICE today. Owner tells me that I can't make my 8 GPM, 3200 PSI, 24HP machine will not inject chemical from my hose reels because I have 150' of hose, can only use 100'. Also, I can't draw chem using my 5' wand, only the shorter one. Does this sound right ? I guess when I want to use 150' hose and longer wands, I 'll need to go to the X-Jet system that Jeff uses. Draw from A 5 GAL. bucket and draw the chem to the end of the wand. Any advise is appreciated.

It's been a challenge Russ.

Well, been in business on the week ends for 3 weeks. Done 4 houses, 2 more lined up, 1 hardware store lined up, got the contract for 9 car washes a PM wants me to bid on 8, 3 story condos. I'll be contacting Jeff, the condo king ! Did a dump truck and have decided not what I care for. Decision time. Hire someone or stop asking for business.

Thanks for the support, Oh, I forgot about the bank contracts Jeff put me on !

my rig is back at the dealer I got from. Ican't draw up streaming, only with no nozzle.
-
My dealer sold me a "X-Jet" with my new rig. It is a brass nozzle that I can use when up steaming. Works good I guess. Just put the chems on, change the nozzle and rinse. However, when I have worked with Jeff, he has a big black adjustable nozzle that looks something like a roto nozzle. He has his chem injector attached to the end of this on his wand and uses a 5 gal. bucket he draws from. Which is a X-Jet ? He likes doing the bucket thing, I like the idea of using my so called X-jet directly from my 30 gal. chem tank, but again, I'm still learning this stuff. Thanks in advance for any info.

My new rig was not what I ordered !
ken wiggins posted a topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I picked my new rig Friday. Made my way to Shalotte, NC to work with Jeff. He looks at my pump and said , I thought you were getting a 8GPM ? I said yea, that's right. It says 6 on the pump. I took the rig back today, and thay said, O, yea, well, what happened is we changed te gearing so this unit will get more gpm and will go a little over 7. Now, my quote says 8GPM 24HP, 3500 psi. After I met with the owner, he agreed to put an 8 on my machine. This is a Karcher system and looking on the web site, thay only make a 8.5 gpm, not a 8, and it is powered by a 27hp, not a 24. My question is, when they put this 8.5 [ or 8 if they make one ] is the 24 hp large enough for this system ? :lgangry: I can't beleive thay did this. It's like buying a V8 auto and getting home and discovering you got a 6 cyl., going back to the dealer and them saying, O,yea, well we bored it so it will run like a V8. -

Guys, Your input is invaluable. Thank you all for your input and opinions. I have talked with Russ Johnson and Jonathan Martin today, a great education, and I believe what Ron wrote is very true. When dealers receive in skid units and build them for end users on site, thay can "play" with settings to get more or less GPM and PSI out of different machines. I have to believe [ maybe I am being nieve ] that ICE thought that it would be fine to beef up the 6 and give me 7 1/2 or so, and I would be happy [and I know that thay would make a few hundred more bucks on it ]. However, I am in business and know you try and give the customer what he wants and make as much $ as possible. This is true in all businesses and I don't want to completely bash ICE at this point. These folks have 4 locations, some owned by the family that started it and some sold off. The folks in Wilmington really seem to want to work and make my unit all that I want. Thay seem to want to keep me a happy customer and are going to put a 8.5 General pump on it, and hopefully, adjust it to what I want, 8GPM, and maybe 2800 PSI, and still deliver the heat I want when needed. I explained to Russ and Jonathan the specs that thay are proposing, adjusting the ratios, etc.. I respect their opinions and from what I understand, it is not that unusual to change some settings to deliver the GPM and PSI to what the customer needs or desires. Everyone agrees that the warranty on a complete set up is handled by the dealer, not the manufacture. So , did ICE assume all would be fine ? I am giving the benifit of the doubt and say yes, thay did. Did thay make a very wrong assumtion ? Yes, indeed thay did. Are thay trying to right their wrong ? I have to believe that thay are. So, I will try the unit out Friday. With my limited knowledge, I will try it out and see if it performs as I think it should. I will keep you all informed as to how it all works out. You guys are great, thanks again for your input. PS I wish we had spell check on this site ! -

Yea, I've got specs, thay say 24HP, 8GPM. That's what was quoted. Not what was delivered. If manufactures and distributors are not being up and up on the specs thay provide and it is common in the industry, the industry has a problem. -

Thanks all, They have agreed to put a 10GPM General pump on it, and I guess what they are going to do is back it down to an 8gpm. I will make sure that I have a warranty for all of this BS that should not have happened. Amazing isn't it ?? -

Alright, I'm ready to go except for one major piece of equipment, a surface cleaner. Any suggestions on which to buy, size and where to get it would be most helpful. Thanks.
