To back up our other marketing, we've been driving around our targeted neighborhoods and putting flyers in all the newspaper boxes. We put out around 200. One call one job. This particular house has gotten at least 4 mailers/doorhangers from us including $20 coupons(which she did not use). Ht the dirty ones repeatedly. Just like all the posts have said before repetition works. Remind them they need their house washed.

Is there any way to use less than all 200 feet of my high pressure hose and avoid getting that loose hose at the reel thats a pita to reel back in.I've been thinking of trying to bungee it somehow.I guess I could disconnect the amount I need and bypass the reel. any other suggestions? thanks

After almost giving up, my wife clicked on one of those ad links that comes up in gmail (ingenious gmail) and found this store which had 85% polyester shirts. Here's the link and info: http://www.shirtdistributor.com/prod.cfm?ProductID=401&CD=No 85% polyester/15% cotton 7.0 ounce pique knit Double-needle bottom hem Fashion knit contoured collar and welt sleeve bands Innovative dri-releaseĀ® fabric that wicks moisture away from the body Tagless label Three high gloss woodtone buttons

I was feeling the same way, then one morning within 30 minutes of eachother I got three calls that ended with four scheduled house washes,as long as you never stop marketing who knows what tomorrow will bring.

Is there any way to get stain out of concrete that has been set in for years? My customer had a previous contractor spill deck stain on his sidewalk, is there anyway to pull it out? Thanks Dustin
-
thanks for the tip jarod,I sprayed it with original easy off oven cleaner scrubbed it with a plastic bristle brush, let it dwell, rinse, repeat 3x over for 1/2 hour. I then actually sprinkled HD80 powder over it, scrubbed, dwell, rinse repeat for about an hour. I think this stain is too far down. It did lighten up about 30-40%.

ad in local paper - register for free house wash contes
DustinC posted a question in Residential Pressure Washing
We have an ad going out in our local paper this week advertising for people to visit our website and register to enter for a free house wash. Has anyone ever offered any sort of contest like this before and if so did you have lots of entries? I'm betting that those who have had some sort of drawing at a home/garden show might have done something similar before... Thanks Dustin -
I am putting together an estimate for a customer who wants several things done at their home, including 4,000 sq foot brick house with gutters, appx 5,000 sq feet of flat work including concrete patio, pool deck, driveway and sidewalks, 2 wood decks and even an awning. I have 2 questions. 1. I am trying to determine if the red areas on the pool deck are rust or red clay. I have oxalic for rust but nothing for red clay. Suggestions? 2. Also, one of the decks is half painted and half stained/sealed (or should i say WAS). I am unsure how to approach this part of the project. The customer says he is also hiring a painter, should I contact the painter and work with him (hint, he also does pressure washing on the side so wouldn't want to tip him off that they are hiring me). ATTACHED: pictures of wooden deck, pool deck and close up of one of the red areas. I have more pics. Thanks Dustin

I'm sure I can do a search and find this out but since you're here, how much ox in a 3 gallon pump up and how long dwell thanks dustin

I finally got up the courage to put in my two weeks. Friday was supposed to be my last day. I had just finished up my last stop (I'm a route driver, worked there for the last 5 years) and was on my way back to my company to turn in my stuff and say goodbye. While driving I was running through my mind all of the marketing ideas my wife and I were going to employ. Then my boss calls to inform me that in about a month I would be fully vested in the pension plan - if I leave before then I get nothing. I overlooked this with everything else going on. Needless to say I'll be dragging myself to work for another month. My head hurts!!!!!!!!!! Needs motivation, Dustin

A potential customer requested an estimate on us cleaning just part of their home - i.e., front and 1 side where it's dirty with grime and mildew. Anyone experience this before and successfully persuade them to get the whole thing done? I can't imagine just cleaning PART of a house. I would think the mold and mildew would just come back sooner if we didn't do a throrough full house wash...thoughts? Thanks Dustin

ok since you offered I'll buy you a plane ticket to south carolina. once you get here you can take my rig and go to to town! after a month just hand me the keys and I'll fly you home. deal?.................lol thanks ken

Excellent point as always but the work is not there yet jobs are coming in 1 or 2 at a time I have to leave to grow it. 55 to 60 unpredicatable hours on the road leaves no time for running or growing a business.are you tired of hearing me wine yet because i know i am

I did know I was going to lose some of my 401K but the pension is totally different. Staying another month could be the difference between me getting a $150/mo check (or so) when I'm 65 or nothing. He apologized for the late notice and said that I could work very short weeks and cut off the last 2 weeks with my unused vacation (good guy). I guess I'm going to have to suck it up, free money is free money whether I'm 27 or 65.......staying is torture!!!!!!!! They have a inhouse (2-step drive-thru) truck wash so no chance for that contract. thanks for the encouragement dustin

use the search option and all your wildest dreams will come true (lol)

well, the potential customer who requested the estimate did it through our website. we responded via email and tried calling the number which was wrong Im starting to wonder if its a local competitor messing with us.any one with a website experience this?lots of good ideas I was considering using a spray bottle of housewash and a white rag to show them how dirty the clean parts were. (might backfire) thanks dustin

ICEs prices were high and they charge alot for delivery my valpack mailers go out on the 19th( going full time soon thereafter) and my plan is if im not working a job then i will be hanging door hangers until i am and so on and so on. luckily my wife knows her way around a computer and we can make our own. if all goes as planned Ill need to buy in bulk and will be giving you a call thanks dustin

thanks jeff Ill do that lexington is about 6 miles west of columbia. I was delivering to the barefoot landing area a week or two ago. and I picked up a phonebook to check out pw ads(i do this in all the the big towns in sc) wow alot of competition down there you must really hustle and do great work to stay so busy. the chemistry store carries just about every raw chemical used in the pw biz I asked them about the posibility of making me some stuff but they are just a distributor.I found a supplier for 12.5% on the same street (ICE). What is the going rate for 55g? I dont need that much yet but hopefully will. as of right now Big Lots is my sodium hypo supplier. dustin

Thanks for the great info Ken, I always pay close attention to your posts. I have a lot riding on the launch and success of my pw biz. I've been told I'm crazy, but my wife and I are putting together a pretty solid marketing strategy. If you stay hungry you'll never starve. Dustin
