1. Cabot clear stain can turn cedar pretty dark over time I have seen, recently. Sent from my iPhone
2. First X-Jet job done...

Yeah, was a bit skeptical at first to use it, but figured I should at least see how it works. Needless to say, I will be getting a M5 ordered right away (as back up to my back up of course:mushroom:) I wouldn't want to suggest that it would be my go to just yet...You never know though. I even used the instructions that came with it on chem mix...go figure. I thought for sure it wouldn't work on the gutters at all. I was almost certain I would be either getting on the roof or scrubbing them somehow. Did neither!~! I don?t see how I could jet an entire roof though with a strong mix?? Any wind or angle I cant get to gets me on the roof and negates the bucket and hose ordeal... Anyone?
3. Referrence: Bleach shelf-life

Great and important information. There are a lot of cleaners mixing chemicals incorrectly.
4. No behr stain... The owner had the deck installed and she did not know what stain was used 7 years ago, but I found the Cabot under the deck... Sent from my iPhone

6. The original stain was a Cabot clear on this deck. There was an old 5 gal pail of it in the shed I found. The front porch had an attempt of another coat of some ace hardware version of oil and resin. It was a small section that needed sanding after stripping. It left an orange looking flaky top residue that sanded off easily. All the wood looked pretty good after being stripped except the darkened knots. My first thoughts while staining were that the ox didn't neutralize the SH that soaked deep into the wood possibly. Or that I didn't utilize enough ox. If I had left the deck unsealed it would have looked almost like new cedar.. Except for the felted areas... Sent from my iPhone

9. Finally watching this project come to an end I think... A lot of it still looks a lot like re used oiled barn wood, but the color keeps changing daily. I learned a lot about cedar on this project for sure... 10. After two days ... One coat of stain. We will apply another after we finish the rest of the deck. It might grow on me as time goes by. I still have issues where some stain didn't budge and I have had to sand. Is this common? Sent from my iPhone
11. Sanded with 60 grit on the bad areas and some 80 Sent from my iPhone
12. I have sanded some areas that the old sealer didn't come off on the step faces and some around the railing tops and bottom.... The weird thing is the deck Looks spectacular wearing my uv glasses but looks like dipped in creosote without them....very dark Sent from my iPhone
13. This is the stain coming off... This is neutralized with no sanding... With stripper before cleaning.... After stripping and brighter... Sent from the Fast Finish IPad www.fastfinishor.com
14. The first pic is dry after it was Ox ... Then stained. The last pic is the cleaning while wet showing the front cleaned and the back yet to be done... You can see that we neutralized it in the first photo before staining it... Sent from the Fast Finish IPad www.fastfinishor.com

16. sodium percarbonate

SH is designated for both Hydroxide and Hypochlorite for some reason. However you cannot purchase SH (bleach in powdered form as it is explosive)( It is sold in powdered form like pool shock which I believe is calcium based..which is different and stable. So when referenced in powdered form it is Hydroxide (caustic soda or lye) In liquid it is chlorine bleach. SB or (SP) is Sodium Percarbonate ( Hydrogen Peroxide) in powdered form. The only thing that confused me is why it is labeled SB. But that is according to another lab geek that I received my information from. I thought SB would be Sodium Bicarbonate, and SC would be sodium carbonate but what do I know... You would think wiki would have something but it does not clarify...
17. sodium percarbonate

I carry both SH and SB now. I have seen great restorative cleaning done with SB lately, on wood, roofs, and concrete. It might be slower, but it is way safer hands down. Sent from the Fast Finish IPad www.fastfinishor.com
18. I just wanted to know when is it better to use one over the other when stripping finishes off? We don't do a lot of decks unless a customer insists so we are looking at the best way to Strip, neutralize, then seal with a good commercial stain like-Wood Tux. 2000 sq ft deck with railing Three years since stained Unknown stain used some peeling Very dry wood on one side of the house- Signature wont post from ipad? sorry....working on it www.fastfinishor.com
19. HD-80 over SH? When?

I found a good test for acrylic coatings- basically alcohol on a clean cloth will remove color not dirt if it is acrylic. Now I have my tester kit when I go out on deck bids from now on. This is a great site, and thanks for all the input. Sent from the Fast Finish IPad www.fastfinishor.com
20. Concrete mix...soap or not

When do you use or not use the TSP? Vinyl? Sent from my iPhone
21. Concrete mix...soap or not

What % of SH and soap are you using for House washes?
22. Sounds almost like the mix for dumpster cleaning...lol (What percent do you estimate that to be?) I use gain as a detergent for my roof cleaning, I suppose it would work with your mix as well to get it to stick. I have an inclination that I might be doing some sanding and some de-furring. The stain is all over the board with this project. Any advice on stain mops and defurring discs?
23. What percent do you start with ? Sent from my iPhone
24. I see you have been using this product for a long time now. I just placed my first order with them and am hoping that the job turns out well. We are still new to the wood restoration side of this business. I have to strip, brighten, and seal a 2000 sq ft beast of a deck right out of the gate. Using f-18, OX, dry time then onto RS with an airless and some stain mops...
25. HD-80 over SH? When?

What are all three if you can tell me? or PM me with the names/ labels if that is more appropriate. Floor strippers are high alkaline and usually contain or resemble a strong ammonia?
