you guys are good but here's the tie breaker. if i am using 12.5% shc as my solution, what will be my percentage of shc output if i'm using 3qts of solution per 40qts of mix? (1:13 that is) i'm just trying to figure what % of shc i will be applying to the house. rando

he's right jon, i was never good at math...obviously. but, here's another one for him. if i use up 3qts of solultion to make 10 gallons of mix what is my new ratio? rando

The benefit to throwing in a small free service...
douseahouse replied to Camelot's question in Residential Pressure Washing
sometimes the customer tells me "no" they just do not want that done even if i do the same as you did mike. so what do i do? the same thing that you guys have proably done also...do it anyway and don't charge. naturally, it has to be something that is not timely or costly. i have found that leaving certain things uncleaned actually takes away from the job that i just did. we've all done it i'm sure. aren't we nice? rando -
i'm paying 125 delivered to a business address close by my house. the company will not delived to a residental address. i have to go and pick it up but so far that's not a problem, just a little inconvenience. i taked to univar but they wanted 300 minimum purchase. i have found a couple of places nearby that will sell 15 gals at the time for 45. i'm in the tarheel state of north carolina so if i can help anyone please let me know. rando

i agree, what's the big secret? now i can't sleep tonight. rando -
i agree. read. read. and then read. if you do a search on the web you'll come across a website that sells a cd for $49 that will tell you "all you need to know about roof cleaning". it's junk. i know. i bought one. bit the hook and they reeled me in. this is the best place to learn. these people are not only professional but they are friendly. i have called a few personally and got help over the phone. so grab yourself a cup of coffee. sit back . and read. good luck, rando

Below, I got a suggestion to use a surfactant with my chlorine- got a brand name?
douseahouse replied to POWERMEN INC's question in Residential Pressure Washing
if i'm not mistaken the good people at xteriorsales recommend 4oz per gallon of shc. what do you recommend? apparently you have used this stuff before and know a little bit about it. rando -

i have felt barlox before and it is a very sticky product. i'm told that the recommended mix is 4oz per gallon of shc (undiluted). this stuff feels like syrup and works well so i am told. hey rodney, where do you buy your barlox? the only place i know of is xteriorsales.com nearby you in garner. rando -

the barlox you can get from xteriorsales.com....but, it's not cheap. i'd like to know more about the nonylphenol np-9 tergitol (whatever that is). where do you get that stuff from? thanks, rando -
if i use shc then i mix it 10:1 and add a nicely scented laundry detergent. if i use household bleach then i mix it 5:1 and also add the detergent. i've had wonderful results with this formula. i usually use my shurlo setup to pump the solution and then a low pressure rinse (usually using their garden hose hookup). be careful with a high pressure rinse because it is so easy to get underneath the vinyl siding if it's not properly installed. good luck all! rando

House Washing Chemical
douseahouse replied to Ron Strickland's question in Residential Pressure Washing
good question, most of the time i use clorox or the equivalent and then dilute it 5 to 1. i then add scented laundry detergent to act as a surfulant and also give it a nice smell. i usually but this stuff at "big lots" which is our surplus store warehouse. i can buy enough chemicals to clean a 2k square ft house for about 20 bucks. with this dilution i have not harmed any plant life to my knowledge. i'm always open to new cleaning solutions so let me know what works for you. rando -
well, i'm getting so many more calls to do driveways and sidewalks that i'm going to have to invest in a surface cleaner. i've got a 2800psi with a 3gpm output. any suggestions or recommendations? thanks gang, rando

just a follow up on the new again gutter-renew...wow! i sprayed it on the gutters while they were still dry and just as soon as i finished spraying i hit it with my 3000psi (40 degree nozzle) throttled down low and the streaks came right off...immediately! i just got a sample bottle from the good folks at xterior of gutter zap so i'll give that one a shot next. according to you guys that stuff is really good too. good luck all, rando

okay i can make it soapy. is there a soap you recommend? i have been told to use dawn liquid. agree? rando
-
hey time, you say that you "thicken" up your wash. what are you using? i am considering buying some barlox but it is kind of pricey. what do you recommend? thanks, rando
-
great work tim as expected, are you using your special house/roof wash to also do the drive or is there another secret herbs and spices formula? thanks, rando
-
hey tim, great rig! got a question about your concrete drive cleaning...do you use any chems or do you just use the water pressure to do the job? thanks in advance. rando
