Need to strip my decks - advice please!!!
mas3372 replied to mas3372's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
The no film is why I like the ready seal, I understand that the WTW leaves a layer of sorts. If you have some pics of WTW and want to share, that would be great. -
Sounds like a great event. can you tell me what the closest airport is that I could fly into so that I can start shopping for airfare. Thanks.

Rick, Thanks so much for the help. I will hopefully find the chance within the next week or two. I will use a pump up, scrub, dwell, apply, dwell and rinse like crazy. Perhaps I will grab some citralic by then, do you feel as though citralic is superior to oxalic,or just your preference? I also need to decide If I want to try the Ready Seal or WTW. The WTW seams great because I can apply wet, but there seams to be more pics out there of how great ready seal looks. Decisions!!! -
I will meet your for sure, but the hardest work I will be doing will be raking a trap and replacing a divot. But then again, if I worked for the King, would that make me a prince or pheasant?

Thanks Rick, I never thought about just brushing it on. I will try that when I get started. When you neutrilize, do you do so after a complete rinse and then then let the oxalic dwell then rinse as well, or leave the ox to let dry. Thanks. -

Thanks for the help. The semi cabots has started to wear after 10 months, mostly on the stairs and outside the door. I want to try ready seal or woodtux so I can see first hand why everyone raves about them. The pics on readyseals website are quite appetizing. The porch has no spindles, just 150 ft2 of deck boards - PT. Already showing some signs of wear. If I mix the F-18 at 16 per gallon or so to try, is that then applied in a pump up sprayer or downstreamed. Thanks. -
Ron, Good idea with the scott pack, but 20 minutes of air and carrying 30 extra pounds is a PITA. No to mention the neighbors might be a bit scared.

thanks Craig. I have had the OX in the eyes as well. Ouch. Not as bad though as when you are scubbing a gutter and a big suds glop falls right into your eye. That was pain.

I wear one, the cartridge type from home depot for $38 bucks or so. The cheaper one does not protect against chlorine vapors - says so on the package. Well worth the money. Last year I hardly wore it and was always getting headaches and had the chlorine smell stuck in my nose all night. The respirator prevents that, keeps me healthy and keeps the home owners away.

Help with housewash with LOTS of glass
mas3372 replied to Chris S's question in Residential Pressure Washing
If the windows spot, go over them with the windex outdoors. It attaches to the end of a garden hose, but I have poured a few bottles in my bucket with water 50/50 and downstreamed in on and rinsed it off. -
Hello, My first big equipment issue. My pw is powered by a 25 HP honda V twin engine. It has 220 hours on it. Just got new fuel filter, oil fitler, air filter and plugs at 185 hours with oil change. Did 4 housed yesterday with no problems. Ran out of fuel once, filled it up and was good to go. Went to do a house today and it would not start. It will run on starter fluid, but as soon as I stop spraying it, it dies down. I replaced the fuel filter, blew out all the fuel lines and still nothing. I took the line from the fuel pump off the carb. intake and turned the key, it shot gas so I know the pump is good. All I can think is that something is clogging the carb. Any thoughts, I need help fast. I have a ton booked at the end of the week.

My Honda Wont Start - Need Help Fast
mas3372 replied to mas3372's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Ding Ding Ding. Russ is the winner. You hit it right on the head. The guy came out today and that was it. fixed it in about 10 minutes. The plug as come off a few times and I never thought to check it since the engine was turning and it would run on starter fluid. Never realized that the switch had that much to it. Machine is purring like a puppy again. -

The place I bought it from is on there way today to fix it. They are an hour away but do on site repair for the their hourly wage. Well worth it to me. I don't have to dump 50bucks in gas and 2 hours of my time to drop it off and pick it up. I will let you know what it is when they fix her. -

Doug, If I do have this anti backfire option, how could I tell. Would resetting it be done by simply turning the key back or is there more to it. -

Kyle, Thanks for the help. I am certain at this point it is a fuel problem. It drives me crazy, it ran perfect all day yesterday. Started it and shut it down about 8 times. Never any problems, and this morning, no luck. I want to take the carb off and look, but I am afraid to cause damage or mess something up. I am going to find who can service it the soonest tomorrow. But who knows, maybe I will tinker with it tonight. -
They called me, they see that it needs to be clean. It is their property, what is dirty to them, may not be to me. No discount either. Wether a house is fithly or not so bad, they take about the same time, same work, and same effort and they get just as clean.

Hey, My buddy is doing a huge landscaping job for a client and his machinery has left the driveways muddy and gross. All asphalt. About 800ft2 total. He is power sweeping them and needs me to wash them. I have a steel eagle surface cleaner but am afraid it will tear up the asphalt. Any thoughts or experience. Thanks.
-
Yeah, its just to rinse heavy dirt off. I am thinking my M5 on a wide pattern would do the trick. The shutoff valve sounds like it would work to. I think the surface cleaner will create to much mud and ruin the asphalt. Thanks.
-
Thanks gusy for the help. It is a large area so I would like to use my surface cleaner. I do have a m5 that I would cut in with. Any experiences with a surface cleaner on asphalt?

My bed is clean, Nothing in it. It is all on my trailer. I throw my trash in the bed and empty it at the end of the day.
