Randy, After the house is rinsed and almost dry, I mixed 10 oz of wet wax with 2 gallons of water and dowstreamed it on. I avoided the windows best I could, but rinsed them again. That was it. Let it dry and it looked great, went back yesterday and it still looked great. Home owner had no problems with windows either.

I use three tips barry. Prewet with the M5 then 1. Soap tip to apply chem as far up as it will reach. 2 Use a 0400 tip for up high, eves and gutters, 3. M5 again for rinsing. three tips are not too bad to handle. I wear cargo pants or shorts and they all fit in one pocket.

I use my x jet nozzle to rinse,The M5 is great for rinsing. Straight stream for up high and wide pattern for down low.

Finally go to experiemnt today. Did my friends one story ranch. did one half the house with reg. mix with wax added. Did the other half with no wax added, let the house dry for the most part and downstreamed a wax mix with 110 degree water. Hands down, warm water application after the fact is far superior. Looks 10x better.

Anyone else?

Hello, I have a home to do with some major chalking and the home owner wants a wax rinse done to help the chalking from returning. She is aware that it will still return. I ordered some wet wax from sunbrite - I wish pressur tek sold some. My question is, what is a resonable amount to charge to add this service on. I was thinking that after rinsing the house, to rerinse with the wax in a seperatae bucket and then rinse windows would not take long, perhaps 20 minutes. I feel that an easy way would just be 25% of the house wash price could cover the wax application and turn a nice profit. Any thoughts.

The chalky house did not like my price therefore no luck with that experiement.

I did try it on one side of my house mixed with the house wash and noticed little if any difference in luster or feel. I will play again on thursday by doing a warm water rinse application to see how that works.

Thanks for the input gary. I think for sure that the wax in the mix must hamper the effect of the wax at least to some extent. I am thinking about offering my customers two options. 1. Wax additive wash - can add some luster to home and can help keep the house cleaner longer. 2. Hot Wax Rinse post wash - adds a nice luster to home's vinyl, keeps the home cleaner for a considerable amount of time long. I will have to experiment on my home to see the true differences I guess. Any other thoughts or experiences.

Thanks Rod for the insight on temp. I never have gone over 110f on vinyl, but that 110 is a huge difference over 50 degree tap water. How do feel about Sodium Hypochlorite and Sodium Metasilcate effecting the wax if added together?
-
That was my concern ken, the wax is at the least going to be weakened. I saw on a search I did that Rod added the wax after the wash and the house almost dry again and he used hot water and said i made a difference. Ken, hope you are feeling better.

Whats the ladder for? No ladders here, feet on the ground all the time. You love that 0040 tip huh mike.

How hot is hot when it comes to vinyl. 140 degrees, 120 degrees?
-
thanks john, how noticable is the difference with the wax over without.

cleaning the streaks off high gutters
mas3372 replied to douseahouse's question in Residential Pressure Washing
24 extendable pole from home depot in the painting section with a auto brush in the cleaning section of home deopt. if you are using f-13, mix it 1 part to 5 parts water. Small amount. only enough to fill a 5 gallon bucket about a 1/2 inch high. Dip the brush in and scrub about 15 feet, rinse, keep going. -
Thanks for the two votes so far. What type of wax are you guys using.

Hello, I have a 24 inch steel eagle. I used it last week to do crackerbarrel. Worked fine, washed it off after, top and bottom and put it back. Took it out one week later, hooked it up and the water would barely come out the nozzles. It worked fine and then not at all. I checked for bends or damage from moving it and found nothing. Greased the fitting and still nothing. The arm spins, but no water. Any thoughts?

Thanks again for the tips. I wil check it out tomorrow and let you all know what the culprit was. It sucks when you are about to do a garage floor and the HO wants to watch you work because they are impressed with your setup and then a criticle piece of equipment dosn't work. How often you change the tips? I am assuming they are just zero degree tips correct? And where would I put the filter, right off the gun before the hose or should I have one back right off my machine?
-
Thanks for the help guys. The arm spins by hand when I spin it, not with the water. I stated that just you would know the swivel wasn't frozen. I will take the hose off and the gun to see if here is a clog. I do get full water movement with a regular wand. Where in my set up should I put a inline high pressure filter? Thanks.

Hello, Please put a signature line so we know a bit about you. From what I have been told, after about 60 days it starts to lose its punch. I am not certain though. check local pool supply stores, they should supply it in 5 gallon pails.

Anyone ever have this problem with Gutter Shock?
mas3372 replied to Camelot's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Did my first couple house washes of the season yesterday and had horrible luck with the gutters. I did two houses across the street from each other. I did several houses in this plat last year and had great results with the gutters. All the houses were built in the same 2 year time period with the same gutters, I confirmed with the builder, so different quality gutters is not an option. I tried gutter shock, purple power, power house and gutter granade. They all had little effect. 46 degrees out. It has to be the cold temps taht does it. -
Thanks Barry. So for the most part, it is just a normal old house wash but with 8oz of wet wax. Thanks.

I actually bought it from sunbrite Don. I checked Steve's site and did not see it but found it at sunbrite so figured it was the one everyone was talking about. If you add it in your regular mix, does it have as good of an effect than if you were to put in on after to minmize how much comes off. How is it on windows. Does it leave them filmy?
