  1. Flagstone question.

I been asked to clean only, not brighten or seal aprox. 2800-3000 sqft of flagstone consisting of walkways, pool apron, pool patio, steps up to another patio then 2 flights of stairs leading to another flagsone deck. Main problem is heavy black mildew in areas covered with shade and near vegetation. There is also English Ivy growing on walls and partially covering the edge of the upper deck 3-5 inches at most. I have a cw 4000psi 4gpm 16hp unit and plenty of hose to get around. I'm concerned a little bit about too much pressure causing some damage. I also have a 20" Cyclone but I don't think it's wise to use on uneven surface like flagstone. My question is should I pre-soak with SH and wash solution first and then rinse or just wash with SH solution and let dry. Also at what pressure range would be safe to operate, if I need to drop PSI can I do that with a 40 degree tip with a larger orifice, 070 maybe? If the HO wants to seal, what would be the best product for this type of surface. Thanks for all your help. Rick Arrese Affiliated Svcs. Inc. Atlanta, GA
  2. Flagstone question.

Its irregular shaped and several shades of light gray, tan, orange color.
  3. Flagstone question.

I will try to get some before pics. The Flagstone is cemented on all butted edges about 1.5" to 2" thick, the mildew in the worst places is carbon black color, no efflorescence noted per se.
  4. I just have to show off.....

You're a proud mom. Congratulations for your daughter's choice in a fine military carreer. I served 20+ years in the Navy, best choice I ever made.

Hey Adrian, some days you're the windshield and some days you're the bug and some days you just feel like the wiper blade somewhere in-between. Just relax ... its 5 o'clock somewhere.
  7. Why not to vote for HRC in 2008.

I would like to share this link for those that may be concerned about the Democratic hopefuls in 2008. A FEW OF HLLLARY CLINTON'S GREATEST HITS It's rather lenghty reading but more complete than what the media filters down to the average citizen. Semper Fi !!!
  8. Why not to vote for HRC in 2008.

John you're right, the USS Ponce was LPD15 not 12. (some memory loss here mate) the Navy it's not a job...it's an adventure.
  9. Why not to vote for HRC in 2008.

Hi John, I'm worse than a jarhead, I was a Fleet Marine Force Hospital Corpsman for all my years of sea duty. I was embarked with 2nd MarDiv in the USS Ponce(LPD12) back in '81 and later on the IwoJima (LPH7). After that I got rotated to Okinawa and Panama in '88 with the 3/6 Devil Dogs. Anyway, I wanted to bring up that website because it seems that a lot of people have a very short memory when it comes to our politicians shenanigans, (they all lie but some do it so blatantly it's nauseating). Also keep in mind that the Clinton clan is not for small business. (Curiously enough WalMart (Arkansas based) achieved they're greatest growth while under Bill Clinton's tenure as Gov. and Pres. BTW my mother grew up in Astoria, a few blocks away from the "J" train.
  10. Rich people or rich snobs

Hey Adrian!!! it's 70 degrees today in Atlanta....yeeehaw.
  11. Rich people or rich snobs

I have done work for one of the wealthiests (3rd generation) persons in Atlanta, squezzed right there between the Helo pad and the 1.5 MM RV to do my thing. Anyway the guy is just as regular as any other guy, his kids toss around the same toys just about as my kids, he came out to thank me for the job and to ask me to do a couple of more things. His ex- wife came by to pick up the kids and asked me to do some work for her as well. He wrote a check like nothing out of the ordinary. Plain as folk. Then others not so high in the upper crust category but in the 600,000 subdivision, 2 cars, 2 incomes, 2 kids and broke trying to keep up with the Joneses were the nit pickers from hell, do this do that and this didn't come out like I like it etc. etc. My take on this is you get the good with the bad. Just mix it good and enjoy.
  12. ... Sharing some excitement!!!!

Cool man, I'll be your wingman anytime.
  13. ... Sharing some excitement!!!!

Adrian, you're a TV star now!!! Change is good. I'm happy for you man. Just to let you know, my proposal for graffiti, paint and gum removal at the local high school got the OK today.
  14. What makes you mad

Referrals can be a double edged sword. I've gotten some very nice customers and then some than will never get on my Christmas card list. Best business practice IMO is to take the info down, offer to make a call, MAKE THE CALL, decide and then follow up with the referring party. My advertising budget is not extravagant by any means and any job received by WOM (word of mouth), networking or referrals is a bonus and a blessing. Don't let it spoil your day Don.

  18. Military Photos

Man what a cool site, took me back down memory lane. I was a Navy Corpsman and spent all of my sea time with the grunts in Camp Lejeune. Let's keep them in our prayers.
  19. It's been a while, Hello everyone

Hey Adrian, good talking to you the other day. I'm glad you landed well on your way to expand your PW empire. Television ads work, if they didn't they wouldn't be any. BTW I got some nice feedback on a graffity removal demo at the local HS and they want me to go back and do more.
  20. Panhandlers

Here in Atlanta, GA we had as spell where you would find in the busiest intersections near the financial district a whole cadre of charity soliciting bums. All dressed in white outfits, the females looked like nurses the males in white slacks and shirts with red arm bands or something and they held out a bucket with a message like "please help the missionaries who take care of the poor little hungry homeless drug addicted alcoholic destitute children". When the news media got into it to do a feature these guys just vanished into thin air. There are scammers galore out there and these were the best act in town.
  21. Ok Brick guys I need help

I'm boning up on eff causes, prevention and remedies I think this link is very helpful: www.cement.org/tech/faq_efflorescence.asp
  22. I was told that an option to a hot water unit is a "hot box" that can heat up supply water to a cold water machine. Can these keep up with 4gpm 4000psi unit?
  23. What exactly is a "hot box"?

Thanks guys, I also read a bit more about them on one the vendor's sites.
