  1. Red clay mud on new concrete

Rich I'll try the phosphoric tomorrow. Thanks for the response. Ron Your right, that didn't help. No fires, hurricanes...to report from my neck of the woods. Up here it's windows down in the summer, and up in the winter. No, let me rephrase that, it's windows down in the summer, and head south for the winter.
  2. Red clay mud on new concrete

Yes this thread is old, but in my case fitting. Poured concrete steps on a new (2 months old) town house I ordered just for resale. I used Diedrich 202 (New masonary cleaner) on the full brick unit. Yes I got 98% of the new construction dirt (red clay) and the motar smears off the entire front, but some red stains still remaine on the steps. Any ideas. The builder is interested in what I (you) can do?????????????????
  3. What's wrong with this guy ? ....

Competition. What competition.?? Who cares. Be the best at what you do. Charge a fair and value based price for a PROFESIONAL job. Build a loyal customer base. Leave the job knowing your customer "WILL" want to give your name out because it makes them look good and they want their friends and family to have the benefit of your services. Be the competition. Time to get off my soap box (or high horse). Please fill in your info before you post, and welcome to the board.
  4. Chem source?

If you jump in the shower with no soap and no shampoo, all you did was rinse. No soap or shampoo, then just turn up the pressure and the temperature, then you'll be clean, right???? You'll be cleaner than when you got in BUT.......
  5. Chem source?

EaCo Chem , Diedrich Technologies , Prosoco
  6. Paint spray?

Graffiti remover and hot water. I keep taginator and wurth on the trailer. Telling a customer that you can usually get rid of paint drippings is a great closing tool, and it's all about closing the sale.
  7. Do you plow snow?

I live just north of NY. If I want to see snow, I have to fly back from one of the islands to see it. My insurance is relatively cheap, but NO plowing. I'm thinking of going snowboarding this year. Haven't been here to see the snow in two years, thanks to the pressure washing business. But then again my golf game sucks. If it's nice enough to play golf, it's nice enough to spray water.
  8. I ordered some new toys from Bob at Pressure Tek, in Ohio, that are now sitting at Jarrods, in Mich. Now all I need to do is get them across the border into Ont, so I can wash this place on Thursday a little faster.
  9. My first picture post

Geez. Thanks Jarrod. First you in my gas tank before I even get my new toy, and then their pool boy's dog decides to take a 2 coil loaf on my clean drive. I was just putting in the polymeric sand when it happened, (which for those of you who aren't aware, CAN'T get wet until your ready). I told the architect that I don't want anyone there when I go to do the back. Some days are worse than others.
  10. My first picture post

Got my stuff. Thanks to Bob at Pressure Tek, Jarrod for storing it in his garage and Barry for helping them load it all
  11. My first picture post

I'm waiting to hear from Jarrod to see if he'll be home in the morning. I'll send an employee down (he can leave at 4 am and be there for 8:30-9:00 am), and I'll just make sure he has lots of bail money. LOL
  12. Stupid Question

I just had to try again. I've never been able to post pics either. Nope, I'll stick to pressure washing. Ok , now I need to figure out how to shrink and I'll be able to post pics. Ya right, and Christmas is almost here.
  13. I have used mine about 6 or 7 times over the last 4 years. I wouldn't want to be doing anything big with it. I pay $30 for the armex soda. Sure wish I could get it for $6.00. It does have it's occasional use.
  14. Two comments 1.Can't buy WTW in Canada.(I'd love to try it) 2.We're under a water ban. (Finally got rain today)
  15. Is this a good deal?? Help!

You can build brand new, equipped the way you want for around that. I have two closed trailers. The dollar doesn't play as an issue any more. You can get most of your stuff from our neighbours to the south, shipped to your door cheaper than you can get it from your regular suppliers. I'm a loyal guy who in most cases will pay a little more to deal locally. It's way cheaper to buy direct from some of the vendors here on TGS. You'll save loads of $$$$$.
  16. Home Depot sells them up here. No point me saying the price. But I'm surprised it's much cheaper here.
  17. nail setting

I'm curious to hear as well. At currant we use a ball peen hammer as a nail set and a conventional hammer to strike with.
  18. Olympic Stain

Squirted 3 decks with the Olympic Maximum Natural Cedar tone. Easy to work with, no lap marks, a little pricey but OH well, just charged accordingly. That setup of Shane's works like a charm.
  19. Olympic Stain

Hey Shane I used that set up this week to squirt 3 decks. I LOVE IT. I've got another one to do today. I'm going to try a couple different tips just to see what happens. Thanks for that time on that quick phone conversation.
  20. Sanding a deck

I have vibrating floor sanders. They weigh 130lbs. Starting with 20 or 36 grit, unless they are fairly new decks, finished with 60 or 80. Like always, you just make sure the nails are reset. Sand papers $6 per sheet. They do an amazing job, save huge time, and impress customers. It's all about the prep.
  21. Olympic Stain

Shane I would have pm'd this question, "BUT" I don't know how. Computers are not my forte'. I finally found a supplier up here for the wand and tip, and have ordered it. Should be in next week. I've got 7 decks to finish ASAP. Anyhow, question is, Is that a 1.6 gpm pump ??? I tested a wand off a steel Chapin concrete sealer pump sprayer and a 3 gpm Shurflo that I already had, needless to say it would spray like a male cat, and go through stain in a hurry. Let me know if you don't mind me giving you a quick phone call and if so a time that might be appropriate ??? Thanks.
  22. An egg timer ????????????????
  23. Yeah, mines the black one as well. When I bought it I had them give me the 18-1 zoom instead of the original lens. No regrets here. What was the thread that had your stain set up?? Do you recall ???
  24. I've got that exact camera. Love it. Before and after pic's are great if anyone ever tried to say you caused damage. More so it shows the customer that you are serious. I tell the customers that my guys will already know a little bit about the job before they get there. Seems to add to the level of credibility and professionalism.
  25. Olympic Stain

Shane Would you please post your spray gun and tip size you use with your Sure Flow set up. I can't find that post. I think I'm going to try Olympic again this year. I can't get a lot of the stains some of you guys use.
