  1. Asphalt driveways

Mike I could be wrong, but you are just tring to move dirt off the drive. GPM is all you need to move the dirt. I don't see what the surface cleaner will do???
  2. Back-logged! Off to a rocky start!

Jarrod I know the feeling. I get the same weather right after you. I've got jobs starting to pile up. Mother Nature isn't being to kind so far this month.
  3. Cleaning concrete and flagstone

Allstar Go on "Diedrich Technologies", "Eaco Chem" , and the "Prosoco" websites. You'll find a lot of answers there.
  4. Need Help!

Troymclur Where in Ont are you??? You can call me, I don't mind a quick call to help you out. Be carefull how many more times you post before someone tells you to fill in a signiture. OOPS, I guess I just did.
  5. Stripping/Sealing paver Driveway

Kareem When you stripped it. You applied the stripper with a pump sprayer and pressure wash it with hot water????????????? Which acid did you wash with before sealing???? Thanks
  6. psi flat surface washer

We have just hooked two 4000 psi / 4 gpm machines together. My god it's unbelievable. My question is "If I put 2 4gal tips on my 16" surface cleaner what will happen????" Will it clean or will we be like NASA and have lift off?? Hanging on with a dual lance wand is hard enough.
  7. window screens

We actually suggest they take them down and tell them we'll hand wash them.Soapy bucket and a soft car brush. Customers seem to like the added touch and it only takes a few minutes. It does help in getting rid of any debris that may be caught. We tell them we'll stack / lean them and they reinstall them.
  8. Before /after color staining

Looks good. Nice job. I've used colored concrete stain before, applied with sprayer ,or brush and roller, but never added pigment to clear sealer. How long would you expect it to last??? Is the pigment powdered or liquid??
  9. Here we go!!!

Welcome Mark I'm just down the 401 (our version of an interstate) from you. You are welcome to call or pm me. Alot of the chem's are not available under the names you'll read on here, & to costly to ship. I can probably help you in that direction. Read until you can't read anymore, some of these guys/gals have forgotten more than I know.
  10. Dreg's List

His other part time job is a professional photographer.
  11. Boom

Seth Are you referring to a water "BROOM"??? If so, don't bother, they are glorified paper weights.
  12. Am I Wrong??

Have you ever switched dry cleaners? If so, WHY?? Was it price, service,or maybe location or just to see if your original cleaner is doing a good job? People change for various reasons. Some go back to the original guy and some switch permanently or temporarily. As Mr. Fenner mentioned, they called you. Unless I'm missing something, I can't see where you did anything wrong.
  13. When and where do you vacation?

I left on January the 12th. Went to Cuba by myself, came back, got my wife and went to the Dominican Republic. Got back and left for British Columbia. Got back from there and left for Mexico.I lived out of a suite case for the seven straight weeks off. Now I need the weather to warm up so I can get to work to justify how much money I spent.
  14. Finding a Welder

I've read a few guys say that they have had success with welding coils on hot water units. Appears to be a small crack.I guess I should have run antifreeze in it instead of just blowing it out. What do I need to explain to the welder other than the obvious of it being used for pressure washing?????? Not that it should make a differance, this is a propaine fired hot box. It may appear to be a dumb question, but I have very limited knowledge with welding.
  15. Tennis court

I still haven't figured out how to post pictures. (not very computer savy). We did a Tennis court at a cottage last year that hadn't been done in 4 years. It was bad. We just used hot water and a surface cleaner to wash and cold and a dual wand to rinse. Turned out imazing. Just a note not to stay in one spot to long or you will leave marks in the paint.
  16. Panhandlers

There was a woman in Toronto referred to as the shaking lady. She used to sit at a very busy intersection downtown with the cardboard sign please help, the shoal around her shoulders, with what appeared to be an uncontrolable shakeing problem. A news team decided to do a segment on the homeless. They watched from a distance. At the end of the day they followed this perticular woman.Eventually she made it a few blocks, got into her two year old BMW and went to her home in the burbs. I've seen a guy with a vietnam war vet sign in his lap while in a wheel chair, close up the wheel chair, push it between two buildings and walk into a pizza joint for a bite. On a slight different note, In Canada to qualify as a charitable organization you only have to donate 10% of the procedes. The rest can be used to cover administative costs. I'm not bitter, just a little apprehensive as to who can have any of my hard earnrd $$$$$$$.
  17. copper flashing

Ok.I'm tired of the search function.I'm sure it has been posted,I just can't find it. If you want to spray the love on a roof, that has copper capping and troughs, what will the sodium hypochloride do to the copper.???????????????????
  18. Can I brag, a little?

Merry Christmas present to thyself.Nice toy.I sure hope you get more riding in than I did this year.ZERO.Just think. If you put that trailer idea of Kens together it would now be a full tax write off.I'm starting like this idea. FULL TAX WRITE OFF! MORE RIDING! NEW STRETEGIC MARKETING! CHEAPER ON FUEL!
  19. English/Spanish

Here in Cananda we are multi cultural. I admit that when in Rome you should do as the Romans do.So as such I wish that they would all learn English. But that will never happen and I am triing to get over it.Then again,I refused to take French in High School. SPANISH. I can't speak much of that either, yet I'm in Cuba and Dominican next month and Mexico in Febuary. They are primarily Spanish speaking,I'm visiting there country and will have to depend on them for english. Dos cer vacia por fa vour.
  20. Question about equipment

Yes,we have also run two hoses to the tank, and run two 4gal machines of the same faucet.Seems there is a wide variance in the water supplies.
  21. Cabin Fever-How do you deal with it?

    Play Hockey a few times a week,go snowboarding. Cuba,Dominican Republic,British Columbia,and then Mexico,leaving on January the 12th,back March the 1st.Can't wait.
  22. copper flashing

Hey Mike Thanks for the reply. This is a 100 year old church.I'll try and have an employee post a picture. The flashing and troughs are all weathered green.I certainly agree with the test area.I was not sure at all as to what the bleech will do.I'm doing all my research first.Never been in this boat before. My intension is actually to do the job for nothing other than the exposure that I know I can get by doing a press release to all the news papers and tv stations. This church is on a main street, would look great on the web site and draw a lot of possative media attension. So to clarify, the copper is a capping along the entire ridge line,3 dormer style windows on each side, and trough all the way along. The church is Approx 150ft in length.
  23. Jobs in Winter..?

Thad The shop floors.I guess I should have been more specific. Monthly fee is for degreasing/pressure washing(hot)/rinse/squeege.The floors up here are primarliy either straight concrete,or epoxy paint. We just last week started offering to do the benches as well, as long as they are cleared off.I have two more dealerships to see tomorrow.A Jag and a BMW. The pitch is "If you can't clean your greasy hands with soap and cold water, what makes you think your Mechanics can clean your floor that way". You can have us do it monthly, having your staff do what they've been doing the rest of the time. We'll even clean two stalls for free to prove our point. Right now we only have 3 stores.(we stumbled on to this a few months ago)The goal is 20.If we get to 10 or 12 I'm sure I'll set my goals higher. The nice thing is that they get done at night.Leaving the equiptment/trucks available during the day for our regular stuff. But even with 5 it's enough to cover the nut that wasn't getting covered last winter.
  24. Jobs in Winter..?

Car dealership floors. They pay $400-$600 per.Now we just need more than we have.
  25. Unprepared

Yesterday we had an underground garage to blast with an air compresor to remove failing paint. What a discusting job.Went like clock work and paid well.Went home showered, and left to clean (monthly) the floor of a Cadillac Dealership. I had dropped off two pressure washers at the dealership in the morning just to make sure they weren't out in the cold. There was some residual water left in the supply hoses and pressure lines.FROZEN.What a pain in the A. We run a hot box that didn't want to run.By the time you get the hoses thawed out you can't get the hot box going.By the time you get the hot box going the lines are frozen again. All this and the Sure Flow that's used for spraying degreaser won't work.Never did find out why.It worked the day before, and freshly charged (maybe a bad conection somewhere from the Love). Some times you are just not as prepared as you think. I think it's time to do some rethinking.I would imagine there are quite a few nightmare stories some can share.
