The bizzare one to me is the ice hotels. Have you ever heard of them???
-
Beth It's probably in the mail. I've got one bill going on 90 days. Finally get a hold of the guy yesterday for him to say he's been out of the country, having problems with his new girl and hasn't seen the invoice. Why would you use all three excuses on the same bill.Just give me my damm money. My family likes to eat to,and it's damm cold out,I have to pay for heat just like everyone else. OK, you can have your soap box back now I'm finished.

The world sure is in a bad state of affairs. Is there a way to pull out, and leave the Iraqi's in a position to move on??? On a percentage basis,do they really know or have the ability to live in peace. Some people only know war and hatred.

We can fish in January in shorts.Put up a hut on a frozen lake, drill a hole in the ice and start the heater.I swear they do it just to have an excuse to drink.
-

A man gets his tax return and decides to go on vacation before his ex wife figures out how to get it.While walking along the beach he comes across a genie bottle. The genie says he will grant the man 3 wishes but what ever he grants him he must give his ex twice as much. For his first wish he requests a million dollars. The genie agrees but says I must give your ex twice as much.I don't care because for my second wish I'd like a mansion on the side of a mountain with a beautifull view. That's fine says the genie but I 'll have to give your ex one twice as big.The man says I don't care because for my third wish I'd like you to take that stick right there and beat me half to death.

The size of your accounting bill is relevent to how much business you do. You don't charge the same to wash a 1100sq ft house as you do for a 10,000sq ft.But they both need washing.

Appreciating that there are very smart people on these bb's,my true response would be to check with your accountant. My accountant doesn't cost me a dime.In fact he makes me money. My plumber does plumbing,my electrician does electrical,I do the pressure cleaning and my accountant piles beans. His job as a proffesional is to save me money. None of that was said to be a smarta$$ or to offend the pro's on here that do there own accounting. Just my taxable two cents worth.

What did you do before becoming a Pw'er?
Richard replied to Beth n Rod's topic in Business Topics & Tips
Worked for a short period for the Ministry of Natural Resources. Started in sales, while becoming a cabinet maker owning a Furniture co. with one of my brothers.Sold out to my brother,(to many arguments about the direction of the business).Became a leasing rep for a Cadillac dealership 19 years ago where I still am today.Started "Revive Powerwashing Inc." originaly as something for my son.The second year took it full time to where we now have 3 trucks. This business (pressure washing) is so indepth and diverse, I expect to exceed $300,000 in sales next year. With a lot of the success being attributed to TGS and PWN. -
Procrastination is like masterbation,in the end you are only f-----g yourself. If you are going to argue with an idiot, you might want to rethink who the idiot really is. If you learn from your mistake, it was worth it. If you lend someone twenty bucks and never see them again, it was money well spent.

With a lot of luck,my business has been full time since part way through the second year.Full time for my son with a few part timers filling in.But I still haven't quit my other job.My better half thinks I'm a loon.I work between 75-90 hours a week, working 7 days a week.My other job is straight commision sales and quite flexable.I don't intend on packing it in any time soon as I have so many contacts to enable me to continually grow my own business. I'm Island hoping from Jan 12-Mar 1st.So it's not all work. And for the record,I don't look at it as work,"It's Play".Man I love working for me.

It's on my list of "To Do's" over the winter. It would make it a lot easier for emplyees to have it in the front of the MSDS and safety book. If anyone else has a draft I'm sure it would save many of us a ton of time. Hope you guys/gals are enjoying your Thanks Giving. We certainly all have lots to be thenkfull for.

What's your opinion...
Richard replied to Mike Williamson's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Hi Mike I've been fence sitting on this one all morming. Some people are more than reasonable, and some are not.I would have a tendancy to look at this from a few sides. One is weather there is any feeling from the customer about prior knowledge about the missing trim weather they expected a problem or not.How accesable would it have been to inspect the inside of the door? (Not that I would have looked at it unless I suspected something). What future business would you expect from this customer/friends/neibours?What is the $$$$ of damage to the car?Are they looking to have it buffed or painted? I hate it when this sort of thing happen.I feel for you.Let us know how this plays out. -
Anyone have a good blast lately?
Richard replied to Beth n Rod's question in Having A "Blast" (sand, soda, dry ice, etc.)
I have the cheapest version for soda blasting.Looks very similar to a m5. I have used a wadu before, and it uses a lot less soda than what I have. I have mentioned before that we have had a hard time with some efflo earlier this year. We do all the warranty work for one of the bigger brick/sand/stone manufacturers so I asked for some samples of the worst efflo stones in the yard. Soda blasting (wet) on the face of a stack wall works wonders in removing the hard white scumm that nothing else would. This was just a test and I'll report back in the next week or two with more test runs results. -

Get your friend to drive the woman in need of treatment to the hospital. Now you can spend time with the princess.Your friend can't hit on miss available, the old woman still gets a chance at her much needed hospital visit, and you look like a hero and caring man to (obviously high maintanance or wouldn't be single) the stunning young lady.

On Nov the 8th I mentioned I had to do an oil stain for a car dealership on sealed pavers. I got there and realized that my guys had sealed it last year. I knew who's sealer we had used and I had that companies grease release in the trailer. I was there half an hour.Took me as long to pull out the hoses, and put them away,as it did to remove the stain. If only money/jobs were all that easy. I was grinning the whole way to the next job.

Welcome to The Grime Scene. Read, read, and then have your son reread twice as much. There is a lot of seasoned pros on here. Those guys and girls will give you a wealth of info that you'll have a hard time finding without them. Use the search function till you go blind. If you then can't find it, go ahead and ask.

GEEZ Ken Quit giving away all the trade secrets. They don't need to know that all that equiptment we have is for nothing other than a dog and pony show.

The benefit to throwing in a small free service...
Richard replied to Camelot's question in Residential Pressure Washing
John That was just great salesmanship. Amazing how 3 mins. can make a better day. By explaining that you are already there and set up,and the differance you can make, and this is all customer benefit. That was professional. I quite often look for something small, that the customer will obviously notice, and just do it. So when they get home, see it,and realize it was free. It gives them more reason to be talking about "Revive" and the job we did.The more people talk about us the better. -
NO LAUGHING OUT LOUD We got the contract to clean the concrete at a rather big College, as well as the parking lot sweeping/line painting. Yesterday two of us were there doing gum removal. I noticed a couple of heavy rust spots, so I tried some wood brightener (straight) on with about a 10 min. dwell. Absolutly nothing. Just thought I'd share that moment of stupidity. Guess it's time to get the crytals.

Hi John I checked there web site the last time that product was mentioned. I'll be the guinea pig if no other responses appear. We do work at car dealerships somewhat frequently (twice in the last week). I'll post results if they sell the stuff in Canada. I sent them an e-mail request.

Has anyone else got anything to add about this Klenztone #1. Ironically I just got a call from a car dealership about an oil stain on sealed interlock, I have to go look at or do in the next week.I'm always open to another product, but I've only ever seen Suresh mention it??????
