Cant believe I looked over that,,thanks again Mike!! Tom :)
  2. Thats what I was thinking, I could tell by the wand and the hose also, they had some light wear but nothing major. There was quite a bit of corrosion from sitting,I put my PSI gauge on and saw 4000 PSI with full power and great flow so I think I got a good deal! Thanks Mike!!
  3. La,sTotally Awesome Cleaner Degreaser

Mike,I looked back to page 27 on the forum thread you mentioned and saw nothing for awesome,it doesn't even come up with a quick search for me? Oh well...I will keep looking :)
  4. Is 3000psi 2.7 gpm enough?

I recently down streamed a 3K square ft home with a 2.8 GPM machine and it turned out great,,took me 5 hours...lol Made some $$ and started looking for a 4 GPM ASAP :) It can be done but your butt?neck will be hurting after the first few hours :)
  5. Telescoping wands

Yup,the wand would come in handy once in a while for a church steeple or really high place too down stream yup :)
  6. Here are some quick pics guys,,kinda blurry but you can get the idea. I added the new chem line, ball valve, and PVC pipe for bucket stay. I spilled a little bit of oil on top of the pump when changing it,thats not a leak. I like to use my own oils so I changed them even though they where clean.
  7. It looks better than your neighbors deck and fence already,,Id say you have a head start.
  8. La,sTotally Awesome Cleaner Degreaser

Thanks Mike will do,, I also want to experiment with it in my house wash mix for those extra tough jobs.

  12. Who are your favorite sport teams???

Pittsburgh Steelers for football,NY Mets Baseball,Philly Flyers Hockey, and Tony Stewart Nascar. Cant stand hoops...and cant stand the Patriots even worse,,i will let the Dallas fans slide this year...lol

  14. So at $10 for 20oz.of Cat oil,$4 for 32oz.of Autozone 30w ND oil,or $15 plus for some of the synthetic pump oils, which ones do you guys use,how often do you change it and why? If you use regular cheap ND oil do you have to change the oil sooner than if using hydraulic oil? Will using regular ND oil damage my Cat pump since it requires the more expensive, possibly snake oil,or doesn't it matter? Thanks in advance guys,I just don't want to damage my pump or cause problems down the road,my 50 hour drop is coming up soon...was thinking to drop it sooner than that as it does look pretty brown. Tom :)
  15. Degreasers

LA's Totally Awesome from the dollar store is an awesome degreaser,,it works great on tiger stripe gutters, just needs a little brushing then rinse. Wont work too good under 65 degrees though.
  16. Man some people never cease to amaze me,,a 50ft hose could have saved this guys life...the exhaust from them small engines is so stinky you would think he would have got out of there sooner...its a shame but this guy was being ignorant to the facts.
  17. I disagree,,most of the time the manufacturer is just a sheep for the engineering of the units,,this happens in all things, cars, small engines,mowers,ect....the equipment or product is designed to fail at a certain time in its life for one thing or another,,this then results in the service dept.making their share of revenue as well,,parts and service is a HUGE part of any industries income... 50 hour first drop and 500 hour oil swap after that is way too long IMO,,my oil had metal flakes and was dirty after 2 hours of use the first time....500 hours is just asking for trouble,,dirty oil is dirty oil and the only cheap insurance we have is to change it out with a good quality product way sooner than the manufacturer recommends. Dont fall for the industry propaganda just because you read it in a book,,change your oil sooner than recommended on all your equipment you will get more for your $$ in the long run. As far as running the recommended oil for warranty reasons and so forth well thats fine :) Also you did not answer my question? I just wanted some info on what people used in their different pumps, the results and why they use it. Thx Tom
  18. Synthetic oil?

The best oil for small engines hands down is Shell Rotella,,the high magnesium content is just one of the many benefits, all the rest of the snake oils can take a back seat :)
  19. Pump Oil

Amsoil makes a pump oil,,thats the best stuff on earth.
  20. Who uses the "Ladder Saver"

I just have a small 1/4"ball valve on my injector line I turn off to rinse,,or you could just pull the hose out of the chem bucket and stick it into a rinse bucket,,while rinsing its best to stick the injector hose into a rinse bucket that way you are rinsing out the injector for next time :)
  21. My Sister got her house painted a few years ago,its got alot of bird droppings, some mildew on north side, and your basic dirty dust from the farmers. The painter did a great job,I believe he used a decent quality exterior paint from behr and two coats of it. My question is can I use a light SH solution DSI with a soft wash or is there a chemical that will be safer on the paint than SH? This job will be good practice for me and a learning experience as I plan on getting more PW jobs in the future. Thanks guys and much appreciated! Tommy :)
  22. About to do my first house wash

A $15 dollar hand pump with a 50/50 bleach water mix and garden hose would have done better than just pressurized water from an extension....is that dewd still in business ?
  23. Extension poles for gutter scrubbing

Might be able too drill a small hole through both poles and pin it,kinda like the pole Rod uses,,Im sure it will get you by for a few more washes,,just drill a few holes so you can pin it at different levels :)
  24. Hi guys!! Im new to the forum, looks like a wealth of great info and people. Anyway I was thinking to get into PW as an extra bonus to my lawn care,,I have a couple jobs lined up already. I'm using a 2.7 GPM washer($200 CL find laugh all you want lol) I had for these few jobs,,I actually found a tip at HD that will soap up to the peaks(30ft) on two story houses..it works very good from the ground,,then I drilled out the red HP zero tip that everybody says to throw out,,well I made a great rinse tip with it,,the hole is slightly smaller than the soap tip and reaches beautifully up to the peaks,,it takes some time at 2.7 GPM but I will get the jobs done no problem(as long as its not windy lol)once I get the peak rinsed halfway down I switch to the white tip to finish rinse,,I am down streaming with store bought SH and its doing a great job. Also use LA Awesome and a 23ft Mr Long Arm W/brush on gutters that stuff is awesome...lol. Ok enough of all that hot air and on to my questions,,Im looking to get a new washer,,4 GPM 4200 PSI General pump, the engine is Honda. The washer has a reel with 100' hose.I have read here that Honda and General pumps are pretty much the cats meow. Can you guys please let me know if this is a decent machine that will help me get these jobs done quicker than my 2.7? I only plan on doing PW Sept,Oct,Nov,and March,April so I wont be using it all that much.Might get a surface cleaner also...any recommendations of one that would work well on this machine I am interested in? Here is a link to the machine I am ready to pull the trigger on... http://www.ebay.com/itm/291167565558?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I plan on spending most of the Winter on the forum learning all I can about refinishing, soft washing, and PW. Maybe one day when I get too old to cut grass and weed whack banks I will just PW,seems like alot less impact on my bones.. Thanks so much for all your help!!! Tommy :)
