I recently down streamed a 3K square ft home with a 2.8 GPM machine and it turned out great,,took me 5 hours...lol
Made some $$ and started looking for a 4 GPM ASAP :)
It can be done but your butt?neck will be hurting after the first few hours :)

Yup,the wand would come in handy once in a while for a church steeple or really high place too down stream yup :)

Here are some quick pics guys,,kinda blurry but you can get the idea.
I added the new chem line, ball valve, and PVC pipe for bucket stay.
I spilled a little bit of oil on top of the pump when changing it,thats not a leak.
I like to use my own oils so I changed them even though they where clean.

It looks better than your neighbors deck and fence already,,Id say you have a head start.

Hey guys,,
I was browsing CL last week and found what looked to be a nice PW for sale,,its a MI-T-M belt with Honda GX390 and an AR
RKA-4G40H pump.I went to look at it cause it was so close and decided to buy it.
The guy was asking $850 and I got it for $720....the oil was new in pump and engine that was a good sign I guess.
I had to change the quick connectors as they where corroded. It came with wand and 50ft hose,I changed the connectors on the hose also.
The thermal relief valve was pissing out water even while the machine was cold,,so I replaced that for $10 from ACR and now its perfect.
The unloader works very smooth, and I took the chem injector apart and cleaned it out really good,it was sucking plenty of soap afterwards....seems like I can run this machine throttled down for down streaming as it was shooting soap and rinse really high without running the Honda WOT.
I will post a few pics of the unit when I get a chance, maybe you guys could tell me if I got a good deal or not.
It looks used but looks like it sat more than it was used,,the belts are new also and the paint on the engine is not sun faded at all.
Going to wash a small house tomorrow for a friend, want to see how it works,I was spraying up over my chimney with a soap tip the other day,the house is two story with attic so Id say it was 35ft easy.
I hope this unit will be a great way for me too start adding pressure washing to my list regularly.
I was using a 2.8 GPM Cat,7hp Saburu thats a great machine for small jobs, always good to have a back up too!!
Thanks for stopping by!!

I have been using this stuff for many years now and know its no joke.
Its a great degreaser,I have cleaned tiger stripes off my camper, gutters, and flashing with no problems.
My question is do any of you guys use it to boost your house wash?
I washed a house today that had very dirty red dirt on the siding,,the bleach and Elemonator alone did not take it all off.
I was running 3 gal. 8.25% SH and 4 oz Elemonator down streamed in a 3er,,most of the house turned out great except for a few of these spots...even after light scrubbing.
Also if anybody knows the chemicals found in Awesome that would be great,I thought I read TSP was in there also,,that would make it a great oxidation remover for paint prep on aluminum.
I am going to try and mix 32oz.into my house wash mix and test it out on a small spot on my garage one day.
I wish elemonator was a bit stronger than said...even had a couple squirts of dawn in there today.
Thanks for any replies in advance guys!!

LA's Totally Awesome from the dollar store is an awesome degreaser,,it works great on tiger stripe gutters, just needs a little brushing then rinse.
Wont work too good under 65 degrees though.

Man some people never cease to amaze me,,a 50ft hose could have saved this guys life...the exhaust from them small engines is so stinky you would think he would have got out of there sooner...its a shame but this guy was being ignorant to the facts.
-
I believe most of the time one should follow manufacturers instructions depending on the machine you own
I disagree,,most of the time the manufacturer is just a sheep for the engineering of the units,,this happens in all things, cars, small engines,mowers,ect....the equipment or product is designed to fail at a certain time in its life for one thing or another,,this then results in the service dept.making their share of revenue as well,,parts and service is a HUGE part of any industries income...
50 hour first drop and 500 hour oil swap after that is way too long IMO,,my oil had metal flakes and was dirty after 2 hours of use the first time....500 hours is just asking for trouble,,dirty oil is dirty oil and the only cheap insurance we have is to change it out with a good quality product way sooner than the manufacturer recommends.
Dont fall for the industry propaganda just because you read it in a book,,change your oil sooner than recommended on all your equipment you will get more for your $$ in the long run.
As far as running the recommended oil for warranty reasons and so forth well thats fine :)
Also you did not answer my question?
I just wanted some info on what people used in their different pumps, the results and why they use it.
Thx
Tom

So at $10 for 20oz.of Cat oil,$4 for 32oz.of Autozone 30w ND oil,or $15 plus for some of the synthetic pump oils, which ones do you guys use,how often do you change it and why?
If you use regular cheap ND oil do you have to change the oil sooner than if using hydraulic oil?
Will using regular ND oil damage my Cat pump since it requires the more expensive, possibly snake oil,or doesn't it matter?
Thanks in advance guys,I just don't want to damage my pump or cause problems down the road,my 50 hour drop is coming up soon...was thinking to drop it sooner than that as it does look pretty brown.

The best oil for small engines hands down is Shell Rotella,,the high magnesium content is just one of the many benefits, all the rest of the snake oils can take a back seat :)
-
Amsoil makes a pump oil,,thats the best stuff on earth.
-
I just have a small 1/4"ball valve on my injector line I turn off to rinse,,or you could just pull the hose out of the chem bucket and stick it into a rinse bucket,,while rinsing its best to stick the injector hose into a rinse bucket that way you are rinsing out the injector for next time :)

A $15 dollar hand pump with a 50/50 bleach water mix and garden hose would have done better than just pressurized water from an extension....is that dewd still in business ?
-
It's not that the pole is breaking. Just the screw tightener connections wear out
Might be able too drill a small hole through both poles and pin it,kinda like the pole Rod uses,,Im sure it will get you by for a few more washes,,just drill a few holes so you can pin it at different levels :)

Its highlighted where you typed it,,thanks so much..my wife said she would get it for me for Christmas.
