What's wrong with this guy ? ....
One Tough Pressure replied to quickestimate's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Hey Quick, Did you read the forum rules? No bashing of members is allowed. Ed is a member here, so watch what you say and do not be rude. Also, you need a signature and a legitimate profile, so please take care of both of those. According to your profile, you were born in 1977, so if you have been in business since the late 80's you started when you were around 13 or so. Maybe you read Lances book, that is when he started too. I get the feeling that you may have been an employee of his and now have an axe to grind. I hope that is not the case, because it will not be tolerated. reading some of Ed's posts, is directly opposite of what you have said here. -
Janitor finds Elvis's gun in toliet
One Tough Pressure replied to Beth n Rod's question in The Club House
Sounds like he stole it and had second thoughts. Why would any self respecting person take a found gun home and only turn it in when it gets news coverage? Most people would turn it in when found, unless your the guy that stole it. What an idiot, the spotlight is on him, and I bet we see a follow up story that says he did it, and fabricated the story to save his butt. -
Thank you

Dane, Follow this link to the forum rules about signatures, and update your in the User Cp in the upper left hand corner. http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/forum-general-announcements/4143-signature-requirements-users-please-read.html Unless the gum is fresh, the use of cold water is going to be tough. You will not get it all off without etching the surface. On older gum, even hot water can be a tough task. Proceed with caution.

And what happens when you remove the sleaved barb made for proportioners by drilling out the barb to allow for maximum inner diameter? Yes, I need to test mine for actual ratio's, but what are the limits of the XJet itself?

Supply hose diameter and length preference.
One Tough Pressure replied to wba123's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Brad, Follow this link to the forum rules about signatures, and update your in the User Cp in the upper left hand corner. http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/forum-general-announcements/4143-signature-requirements-users-please-read.html How many feet of supply hose will play a factor in what size you use. If you stuck to 50 feet and had good water sources then the 5/8's will be fine. Do longer hose runs or have a weaker supply line then 3/4's would be better. -
I don't recall your name, but we talked on fleets and recovery. Did you ever make it here?

Water Tank
One Tough Pressure replied to We Wash Concrete's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I rarely ever fill at home. In the last year, I have only filled once at home, and I also never buy water at anytime for washing. I keep both tanks full most of the time, hook up at places that have water and run on tanks at places that do not. Many places only have 1 or 2 spigots and they are far from where I am cleaning. I do not see it practical to use 500 feet of supply hose, when I can just roll in full and get the job done, and use that hose dragging time to get more work done. The wear and tear from hauling water is extremely minimal in comparison to playing hose jockey and the wear and tear on me from that. Recycling water is the same as always, a dirty job. -
Water Supply Tank choice?

Water Tank

I wish it was that easy. 460 gallons between the two tanks, and I need all of it. -
Water Tank
One Tough Pressure replied to We Wash Concrete's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I had a panic brake situation and my 1 x 1 tank cage that is welded to the tubed steel trailer frame cracked on both sides from the weight of the water in the tank. Straps are okay for a quick fix, but these really need to be secured in a safe way. Had I had cheap starps like i see on most trailers, or no straps at all, then the tank may have launched the skid into the back of the truck. Normal driving is one thing, an accident or sudden stop is another. Play it safe the first time. -
Showing new contractors the ropes in your area.
One Tough Pressure replied to John T's question in The Club House
I have trained several people from the boards that are close enough to be direct competition. I have not had any problems, we are friends, and refer work to each other often. One guy was in for a year and a half and quit. He had some decent accounts, but could not do the two job deal anymore. I gained those accounts when he bailed. Look at it as networking vs training your competition. -
Linking Powerwashing bulletin boards
One Tough Pressure replied to John T's question in The Club House
Some boards will flat out refuse this idea. I don't think I need to name them. -

My surface cleaners are leaving stripes ?
One Tough Pressure replied to itswillist's question in Residential Pressure Washing
The bars are so close to the ground that their is not much difference between 15° and 25° on most units. I know they make 2.25 in 1/4 meg nozzles and am sure they have others inbetween as well. -
Vibrating Surface Cleaner
One Tough Pressure replied to Mountain View's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Those rocks could have damaged the tips so even if they are not clogged they may not spray right. Can the bars be adjusted, if so that may be all that is nedded. Continue to run it with a vibration and the union will wear out prematurely. -
My surface cleaners are leaving stripes ?
One Tough Pressure replied to itswillist's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Different machines, different surface cleaners, same problem. This means one thing. Prespray your work area with a quality cleaner and the problem will go away. You need total saturation, not a quick pump up spray job. The stripes come from the overlap as that spot gets cleaned twice. The other option is to walk real slow so that the surface can not get any cleaner when the ovelap occurs. -
New Truck
One Tough Pressure replied to We Wash Concrete's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
And I thought any self respecting person would buy a Ford. Who buys a work truck that hauls a trailer and expects good mileage? -

Does anyone have, or has anyone ever considered a slide in unit for a full size pick up? Something along the lines of a slide in camper. Without water in the tank, it would not weigh much more if any than a camper. Pro's, Con's and whatever else.

Slide in unit
One Tough Pressure replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Doug, My width is 50 inches +/-, and I have the 8' bed. I am not looking for an encloser, just the theory that it can be jacked up. I feel the jacks would be safer and easier to handle vs pulling it out and having foldable legs on a multi thousand pound unit. Less wear and tear when you can set it down vs drsagging it in and out. I guess I should have called the thread something else vs slide in. It can be built with a storage unit under the unit, for wands, lay flat surface cleaners and so on. On a dually, you can go over the bed rails a bit too for more space. -
burner exhaust adapter
One Tough Pressure replied to rholman's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Hey, I said it was 10 bucks first, what am I chopped liver? It is not going to melt, it just needs to be attached properly. I used a off the shelf cap for quite a while to keep the rain out, and keep the exhaust from heating up fire sprinkler links and it never melted. Only bad thing is i did not tighten it down often and it blew away one night. -
Or he can go down and physically take it away from the guy. Kick his butt Wayne, then unleash the TJ3000.

The straighter the pipe the better. If you ever sell the trailer alone, you can just put another vent in to cover it up, or move the machine ove a bit. Some people use on 45 and vent it out the back.
