  1. Cleaner loses an arm

While this is not pressure cleaning, it notes the importance of lock out for job safety. Some thing seem so minimal and people get so comfortable in their surrounding then bam, someone gets maimed or killed. 2. burner exhaust adapter

That is a standard hardware store part for less than 10 bucks. Nice tape job.
  3. Slide in unit

Enterprise around here rents long bed super duty's. With a slide in, it could be switched to one in minutes. My only setback to doing this, is that I have a fairly steep driveway and I can not safely in good conscience put it there if it was dismounted. Angle of driveway to garage will prevent that too. For those that have wonders, here is a slide in camper. Note the jacks on the corners.
  4. Slide in unit

Yes, slide in like a camper to mean one that can be jacked up and taken off in a short time. Could be transferred to another vehicle fairly easy if needed. My F-250 ran pretty hard for 5 years with no downtime other than scheduled maintenance. I know things can happen, but I do not see any reason that the new truck will be out of service. I believe in Ford for a reason, they never let me down. The design would be set up for a dually though. Not sure how the weight would distribute on a SRW. 1 ton Fed Ex van seems like a low rating. That old 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton thing on pick ups is so outdated, that I am sure it is on the van too. Seems like the names stuck. My F-450 is rated at over 3 tons on the bed payload. An F-350 DRW is rated around 5800 and my 01 F-250 was around 2000 something.
  5. Carbon Monoxide nearly kills parking garage cleaner

Within the last year, there were two cousins cleaning carpet in a condo here in town. The power was shut off so they put a generator in the bed of their truck to power the portable carpet extractor and backed it in the condo garage. The next morning one of their cousins came looking for them as they did not come home, and found them both dead in the unit. The garage door was open, but it did not help them any as the door from the condo to the garage was open as well.
  6. extension poles

I got one at Lowes. It does not have a name on it, but is very sturdy when fully extended. It is a 27' fiberglass pole that was in the paint section. I recall it being around $50.00. I have some Unger poles and they are built very light duty. Good for window cleaning, but not much else.
  7. Can this be all true??????????????????

    No...................................
  8. Accountants

There was a recent thread and someone mentioned they have an accountant. Someone else wondered why and what the point was. So I got to thinking, why not? I have used an accountant since year one. When I was just working a job, I did my own taxes since I was a teenager, but with all the legal hoopla in business write offs, I seeked out helped from the beginnning. For the amount that I spend, which is usually around $500.00 a year, I get advice whenever needed, full write offs that I may have overlooked and the accountant himself is a write off too. It makes perfect sense to have one. So why would you not have an accountant?
  9. Gum B&A

    Go take some.
  10. Accountants

Why did they miss it? My accountant is given all the info he needs for my deductions. If I claim something that is not right, he will tell me so.
  11. Accountants

I am, commercial work year round. 5 years and no problems. My guy rounds everything to even. Many CPA's will specialize in small business. With your mindset on the big companies, then why would anyone use you vs a large pw company? Funny how we wonder why the average homeowner will do his own house to save a buck over a pro wash job, then we try to save a buck doing our own taxes. Doesn't make sense. Who claims mileage vs actual expense and vehicle depreciation? If you do not understand the difference, their is a good reason to seek professional advice.
  12. Requirements for MSDS

Requirements for MSDS By Mark R. Samios Material safety date sheets (MSDS) must be in English and include information regarding the specific identity of the hazardous chemical(s) involved and the common names. Additionally, information must be provided on: The physical and chemical characteristics of the hazardous chemical Known acute and chronic health effects and related health information Exposure limits Whether the chemical is considered to be a carcinogen Precautionary measures Emergency and first aid procedures Disposal precautions and procedures The identification of the organization responsible for preparing the sheet One area where cleaning operators can gauge their employees’ willingness to adhere to recommendations of the material safety data sheets is in the use of goggles when applying cleaning chemicals. Some MSDS for JanSan chemicals requires the use of goggles. It is logical to protect your eyes from a liquid that might be sprayed or splashed or even misted. A mist might even encroach around the sides of normal glasses. That’s why most manufacturers recommend goggles when using liquid chemicals. However, workers don’t like to wear goggles. If they have to wear anything at all, they would prefer glasses. Unfortunately, many supervisors would rather let them wear glasses than enforce the rule. Mark R. Samios is national education director for PortionPac Chemical Corporation, Chicago.
  13. hose crimpers

If you get the hoses repaired correctly they should be just fine. I get mine done for $5.00 an end at the local hydraulic shop. Before this, I used to go to my washer dealer who charged $15.00 an end and was a 50 mile roundtrip, so I looked into a machine a few years ago. Cost was around $1500.00. That is when I found the cheap guy, so I never got one.
  14. Opinions needed on our website

Ive seen those pictures before, are you sure they are yours?:lolsign:
  15. pressure problem

Better to be a trouble shooter than a parts changer. Unless you know what you are looking for, then you may not see any damage or wear on the packings. It could be just an O-ring in the head also. Their is no sense in changing something that may not need it. Also, could you go to the user cp in the left hand corner and update your signature info please.
  16. What model pump is this?

Looks like an older version of a General to me. Sure is not a CAT.
  17. pressure problem

Have you tired a new nozzle? Is the engine running fine? If so then it may be a pump problem, and my first place is a "pump head" check. Using a short hose, I plug right into the high pressure outlet of the pump. That means no unloader, pressure switch, or any other item. Make a gun an open gun with a zip tie to prevent any chance of it closing. Use a new nozzle and start the engine while holding on real tight. If you have normal pressure, then the pump is fine. If the problem is still there, then you need packings.
  18. My Rig...

Good looking trucks! Always great to see more Fords.
  19. You know Russ, I was watching that and thinking no way, it is not possible, that chair would have launched across the yard, then at the 20 second mark the leg swung up. I have what that site calls the Heavy Duty. The $159 version, and have only used it with soda on masonary for grafitti. They make a soda formula with flash rust prevention. www.armex.com
  20. Truth in Sales

If you go for an estimate and see that the job does not really need cleaning, do you sell them anyway since they called, or tell them the truth?
  21. Rig 3

That is funny, I was thinking the same thing. Why is GMC making them so low to start with anyway?
  22. McMoo is Gone... Let's remember him

They did not list names here, but I am fairly sure it was Dan and his wife. Two Killed in Head-On Crash On U.S. 27 | theledger.com Two Killed in Head-On Crash On U.S. 27 A second person was killed in Saturday's crash on U.S. 27, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The driver and passenger in a 2006 Chevrolet, a man from Avon Park and a woman, both 59 years old, were killed, the FHP said. The male driver was wearing a seat belt. Their identities were withheld pending notification of their next of kin. The FHP said Brian D. Andrews, 29, of Frostproof was driving north on U.S. 27 just north of County Line Road about 5:35 p.m. Saturday when his 1992 Cadillac crossed the grass median into the southbound lanes, colliding head-on with the Chevrolet. Andrews, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to an area hospital, the FHP said.
  23. Sopranos - How did it really end?

Their was talk of a movie that would go back to a day we have not seen and have quite a few dead folks still alive. Part of the problem with that though, is Tony's kids would be older than what they are supposed to be. The end was written to be that Tony will still be the boss and continue as normal. We just do not get to see it.
  24. Help,soap won't draw when upstreaming

Stronger ratio when upstreaming. Soap can make the coil scale faster. No big deal, just know that it may need cleaning more often.
  25. gas or diesel???

For work like that, I would get at least an 8 gpm hot unit. A tandem trailer would also serve you better. You will outgrow a single really fast.
