Super Duty F-450
One Tough Pressure replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
No, I want that much truck. I am tired Scott, what do you mean by "Troll"? To late, the 250 is gone, and the 450 is here. Time for a change. -
You mean customers are supposed to call you? I thought it was go out and find them.

how high to mount water tank
One Tough Pressure replied to jakeman's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
More specifics are needed, but in most cases you should be fine without raising the tank. Long hose runs from tank to washer, excessive fitting, restrictive lines and or fittings, and direct drive machines may require a raised tank. A standard belt drive machine, using 3/4" or larger hose will suck that tank dry if you let it. My tank outlets are about 18" below my pump inlet, and the hose runs are between 5 and 10 feet. -
how to clean office trailer ?
One Tough Pressure replied to jimbo's question in Residential Pressure Washing
The above holds true. In proper dilution you can get away with almost anything. -
I would put it on the gun.

Different quick connect question.
One Tough Pressure replied to suzuki98's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Not locking the quick coupler on the item you inserted will cause it to launch, and usually the o-ring goes with it. No reason to scrap something over a .10 cant part. -
Ron, How about posting the tapered ends so people know what they are? Those look like a standard thread uncrimped hose end.
-
Seems like the wear would be the same, as they still move back and forth regardless of where they are.

After being a miser for to long, I now use hansen Stainless and have hardly any problems. Of course everything wears out eventually, but these have lasted the longest. On the qc on my gun I use Mosmatic swivels to save o-rings as well.

Advice on buying new hot water unit
One Tough Pressure replied to jakeman's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Alkota has small fuel tanks. I hear excellent things about Hydro Tek, from everyone who has one, and as much as I love my All American (built by Alkota) with the 18 gallon tanks, I will most likely not buy another one. -
Best Techniques Using Surface Cleaner
One Tough Pressure replied to fireandrain's question in Residential Pressure Washing
You need to plan your route a little. Say you have a driveway to clean. A typical 20 x 20 2 car will play the role here. I would start on the bottom and clean it from bottom to top, so the hose will be on the sidewalk and when I walk, it will start on my right. When I get to the edge, I turn to the left and the hose follows behind me and I never touch it. When I get to the other edge, I turn to the right and the hose is still following and not touched. You can do the whole driveway like this and not touch the hose. Of course you can't always have a squared item to clean, but if you clean the edge first and then go for the rest, the hose will follow. If you always turn away from the hose then it haunts you less often. Those large pneumatics are nice to jump the hose and then kick it with your foot. -
So total score is 2 Chevy's and a Dodge are off the road. Sounds like this is a good thing afterall.

One Tough Pressure replied to Tmrrptr's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I sent some pics to Steel eagle and they agree that it looks similar in a few ways, but that they did not make it. -
Good place for a Dodge is on a wrecker.

whatz this surf cleaner ?
One Tough Pressure replied to Tmrrptr's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
The pics were rather large and needed to be resized first. If you click on the POST REPLY button, and scroll down you will see a button that says MANAGE ATTACHMENTS. You then click that and browse your computer looking for the pics and then add them. It will tell you if they are to large. Looks more homemade than anything, but could be a very early model Steel Eagle based on a few things. -
k7 unloader problem
One Tough Pressure replied to jnoden's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I love my ZK1. Sma unloader for a wide variety of machines and no need to worry about the bypass line. My bypass is 1/2". -

Biggest Surface Cleaner
One Tough Pressure replied to Craig's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I know a place that builds 48" cleaners. It is basically 2 24's side by side but all under one housing. I am sure they can build whatever width you want. Call me and we can talk about specifics. -
cleaning burner coils
One Tough Pressure replied to Raptor's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Since you say cover, I read that to mean soot build up vs scale build up. I have descaled on an as needed basis, but have not washed the coil in 5 years. I occasionally use Red Devil Soot remover in the diesel tank though. If your airbands are adjusted right, then you should not have any worries after only a year. Can you use that edging tool on concrete, or is it for interior tile work? -
Landa with 700 PSI
One Tough Pressure replied to 4running's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Kyle, I feel that machine would do fine for engine cleaning. Tractor cleaning is another story, as it will take a lot of time but can be done. Prespray engine with a quality degreaser, crank the heat and clean away. Not a lot of psi is needed for this, and with low gpm the run off will be easier to contain. -

One Tough Pressure replied to Jim Bethel's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Jim, Welcome to TGS. Very nice looking set up you have there. I have one of those pre-filters, but it has the cloth bag. I guess I should have a basket made for it, thanks for the idea. Do you have any water tanks at all, or do you discharge everything onsite?
