Better question is what is it worth to you vs buying a new one?
-
Since he told you what he was getting, he may feel that you low balled him. Did you tell him why you were there when you met? Upset because he lost a decent project is not out of line, but he needs to look at the reason why.

You need to practice on your own garage first. The floor will need to be neutralized after, so the paint is not affected by the acid. You need to be careful with the driveway, so the acid does not streak all the way to the gutter, and you should be recovering that highly toxic potion your making.

It is more than the parts used, the assembly can affect reliability. -
Square off of the money reclaiming machines
One Tough Pressure replied to John T's question in The Club House
The washer and Steel Eagle Vac system make the rest and can do anything that any other washer can do. The swabby is basically just another tool for the end of the hose. -
Square off of the money reclaiming machines
One Tough Pressure replied to John T's question in The Club House
Well John, you will be limited to your hand tools, because that is what Rob will be using. Did you get the 16" or the 24" Surface cleaner? -
Johhn Cash is not just Country. He sang a bit of everything. Aside from being in the Country music Hall of Fame, he is also in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and the Song Writers Hall of Fame. He is one of only three to be in all. The others are Hank Williams and Elvis Presley.

Your name must be changed by the Administator. Send a PM to "Beth n Rod" and Beth will take care of it. -
Depends on condition, but I often make smaller sections for whip hoses, jumper hoses and some "when you need just a little more" hose.

I do not clean walls, I just do the floors. I use a vacuum surface cleaner and the unit stays on fully frozen. If they want the racks moved, I will do so if they are empty, but if they have stock then it is their job.

I use the squirrel cage looking drill paint mixer. I also use it in my hand when the batteries die and it does very well.

Todays nightmare

pushing the sand form that place, you can use the old Magic Mountion slogan "Were moving mountions for you" -
Good choice or else you will be there so long that any money you make will just barely cover your expenses.

And the burner stays on why????
One Tough Pressure posted a topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
So when I let go of the trigger, the burner stays on. I can still shut it off with the switch though. I pulled the fuel solenid power plug and it went off, so I know the fuel solenoid is not stuck. I replaced the pressure switch as I looked into the old one and it had moisture, so I thought it was a no brainer that the switch was bad. Guess that was not the real deal. Also the Unloader still goes into bypass and is not bogging the engine down. Any ideas on what this is? I learned how to fix the not working burner, now I need to fix the always on burner. -
And the burner stays on why????
One Tough Pressure replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I have the 580 psi and that is what I normally use. I am just wondering about the springs so I can make use of the 2 "bad" switches I have. One with a weak spring and the broken one. I will now save all replaced parts so I can piece them together and save a 50 cents. -
And the burner stays on why????
One Tough Pressure replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Does PA make a 350 psi switch? Do they sell spring kits for the switch assembly? If I can replace the spring, I am good with this switch, if not then I have more trash on my hands. -
And the burner stays on why????
One Tough Pressure replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
It was the switch. I had the spring from the switch tested and it only rates for 350 psi. So either it got weak right from the beginning, or it was a lemon to start. Anyone want to buy a low psi pressure switch? -
permanent marker on driveway ..
One Tough Pressure replied to itswillist's question in Residential Pressure Washing
The search button goes a long way, but I did it for you. http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/no-more-art-graffiti-removal/4534-black-marker-concrete.html You will not get the marker off without having a clean spot. Tell the customer that if you can get the marker off, he gets the driveway done. You negotiate the price. Also, update your signature according to the forum rules. -
Based on the overwhelming responses in another thread, I decided to start a new one that is to the point. How do we qualify who is suitable for teaching us the trade? Is it the company who made the most money? Is it the company with the most rigs? Is it the company who has been around the longest? Is it the company with the most employess? Well, I think we all need to answer that question ourselves. I am not impressed with any one thing. I look for a variety of factors in my searches for the best. There is a guy around here that has 6 trucks running all the time. The largest local guy he is. He makes good money based on where he lives, and has been around 10+ years. He also has a fair amount of employess and 2 sweeper trucks. Based on this is he a person qualified to teach others? His work is crap, he bounces from major account to major account, his employee turnover is very high and he is fulll of BS 99% of the time. However he has a good image with his uniforms and fleet of trucks, so he has done well money wise. Do you still want to learn from him? Who is the best teacher is up to each of us to determine.

Ben, Do you know of a window washing company that you would feel confident with them doing the work for you? If you did it yourself, and used a lift, would you have the manpower to handle the job? Does your insurance cover you if you sub contract? What would the customer do if you sub contracted? I know the feeling, I am an owner operator with no employees, and have had some jobs to bid that looked real promising, but due to certain reasons, I had to pass on the job. Lift work for me, myself and I is a no no. If that particular job came to me, I would pass. Windows is not the problem, the lift work is. Maybe one day I will get some help, but for now, I am all about me.

Rich people or rich snobs
One Tough Pressure replied to Jarrod's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I guess I have been lucky. I have done work in some very exclusive neighborhoods, and their is no doubt the people are filthy rich. They called me, so they have always been polite and down to earth. Had I knocked on their door after doing the neighbors, then I could expect some attitude. Residential always pays when the job is done. I have had people leave before I was done and they have always offered the payment before leaving. When I first started, I was nervous taking payment before they were satisfied, but am used to it now. It feels real nice that they trust you enough to pay you before the job is done. I used to do alot of residential and it has always been quality people. The low lifes care less about cleaning so they do not call. -

Anybody have one of these?
One Tough Pressure posted a topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I call this thing "Beast of Aaladin" 10gpm 3000 psi with dual burners. You can run one pump or two. 30 HP Isuzu diesel and enclosed in a baffled box. I want one of these. Have not checked on price yet, but I figure about 20g.
