All American advertises their skids at 2.5 for a 5 gpm, and 4 for an 8 gpm. So that falls right inline with what you remember. My unit is the same as Tony's and burns right in that range. -
This Rattler was by far the biggest I have seen. Total length from the head to the already broken 2" rattle was 48". The widest part of the body was almost 3". she was also pregnant.

I'll post pics when done.

Looked at this place today and the vines are very dried out and dead. I will try the bleach/chlorine, lower pressure and heat. I just hope the extension pole does not kill me as I will be slinging it around for hours on this one.

Sisters Mary Catherine, Maria Theresa, Katherine Marie, Rose Frances, and Novice Mary Kathleen left the Convent on a trip to St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City and were sight-seeing on a Tuesday in July. It was hot and humid in town and their traditional garb was making them so uncomfortable. They decided to stop in at Patty McGuire's Pub for a cold soft drink. Patty had recently added some special legs to his barstools which were the talk of the fashionable eastside neighborhood. All 5 Nuns sat up at the bar and were enjoying their Cokes when Monsignor Riley entered the bar through the front door with Father McGinty for a cold drink when they were shocked and almost fainted at what they saw.

Scott, Can you post or send me some pics of the 16 footer? Why do you wish for the 14'? Is the frame angle, C channel or tubed? -
I have a 10 foot piece of emt pipe that has a braided cable running thru it. Pull the end of the cable and it is like a noose for the snake. I guess we will go with nabbed. Either way when they come around with 300 kids at play and keep coming back after appearing to be scared off, they need to taken out. I am not into the eating part, but I did save the skin and rattle. The skin measures over 5 inches in the widest part when laid flat.

I nabbed it off a school playground. It showed up and got away numerous times, but during the last time she got hooked.

Trailer Specs
One Tough Pressure replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I will definetly get a bigger trailer, but am trying to decide if it is worth the extra cost to get the tubed frame. If I did, it would basically be a factory trailer on mega steroids, as I would plan it for all of my equipment. Like Scott, I do not care much for equipment in the bed of the truck, but have no choice at this time. Scott, What is the spec you have for your trailers, if you don't mind me asking? I am looking into a deck size of 6.5' X 16' with tandem 6000 lb axles and brakes on both. -

Made a new waste tank for the vacuum, and no reason why it would not work, so did not test before taking on a job. The vacuum relief did not kick in in time, and this proved to not be a DOT rated drum.

Vacuum Drums
One Tough Pressure replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
The Steel Eagle Fury system uses a 55 gallon drum for as the first tank to capture the heavy stuff and when it gets full enough, the water goes into the actual waste tank which has the pump in it. I have been limited in space so I was looking for a way around the solids seperation tank, but it can be neccesary if you have lots of sediment. When I get more space, I will have 2 tanks. -
It is a 90° elbow. Screw your hose in what is there and start spraying.
-
My Cox reel has a welded in elbow that comes from the feeder pipe. I just screw the hose in without any other angle fittings or swivels. Sounds like the ball and spring are sticking or worn. A good flush after each use will help prevent that from happening so fast. More than likely you can take it apart for cleaning and inspection. Be careful not to lose samll springs that may go flying.

Vacuum Drums
One Tough Pressure replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I have been using a heavy duty DOT rated 30 gallon drum. It works fine, but I wanted to get the pump off the bottom and try something new. With the pump elevated in the 30, it was to high and when the float kicked in, it was already being sucked thru the vacuum. Since I use a sutorbilt blower, there is no high water shutoff and the water gets sucked right thru the blower. I need to use a bigger drum to allow for the stand off. I am now going to either change to a different pump, or use a second drum for sediment. -
Vacuum Drums
One Tough Pressure replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Dave, I didn't finish getting it together until late, and had a job in the morning, so figured I would be fine. I did get the pump out and was able to save most items, so I could set up my old drum again. I was trying the 55 gallon drum in place of the 30, so I could raise the pump and reduce sediment before discharge. I never got a chance to see how it would work, as it collapsed before anything was discharged. -

They may just take your advice and turn it into their money maker. Let them figure out how to make their cash while we make ours. -
Check that filter, make sure it is clean and seals well. Did it do this before installing that? Is it rated for the machine you have?
-
Do you have a filter before the pump and if so, is it clean? If equipped is the filter gasket in good condition?
