I spoke to Tony about the chems and while I did not get the name, he is a very sharing person. What it comes down to sometimes, is that if you find a new way to corner your market and out do the competition then you do not want to spill the beans for all your comp to see and then copy you, while you employ your newfound upsell. These boards are great, but sometimes we have to do a little extra homework on what works and what does not. We can not be told everything straight out. I like that there is still some mystery in how people accomplish things. It keeps us alert and on our toes.

Mike is not in this business anymore, so he may not reply to this. Mike has been notorius for saying that a certain product works great and then not sharing the name. A good example of that was when he was still a washer and used Bob's products from Pressure Tek. Mike also mentioned on quite a few occasions that he did not care for the XJet as he had a better way, but would never say what. That better way was also attributed to Bob and it was an Adams downstreamer, and a larger orifice 0°.

Beth, are you suggesting Ryan wear something like this? From that Ebay link it was the least revealing.

What kind of wand is this?
One Tough Pressure replied to Mike's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Looks like one that would come with a lower end homeowner machine, or home use steam cleaner. Note the Euro connect between the gun and lance. While they make those for higher presuures, they are many times found on smaller units as well. If there is no marking on the gun or wand that say how much pressure it can take, then I say do not use it, as it may just blow apart in your hand. -
Since the subject of scraping came up, always make sure to use new blades, wipe them off after each scrape and only go in one direction. This will help prevent scratches from careless back and forth scraping. Blades are fairly cheap, so change them often.

I have an All American Premier skid and I love it. My choice is only go with a 120 volt burner. The 12 volt is to dependant on the battery. -
Ryan already looks fine in his chosen attire.

Christmas trees.... which do you use?
One Tough Pressure replied to Beth n Rod's question in The Club House
Fake prelit, saves time looking for the perfect balanced tree, keeps the house, car and my clothes from getting dirty, and saves about $100. Ours is the one that has the branches already installed and they just fold up. The only thing easier would be if it decorated itself. Also saves on my allergies as well. -
Danger: Using the wrong materials could cause irreparable damage by Amanda Mark Using the wrong detergent to clean with can cause severe chemical damage. Mary de Cobos, of FutureClean ltd, Newark on Trent, UK, which owns the website mousecleaning.com, had said she’s seen damage to stainless steel caused by a cleaning business that used what she suspected was bleach and metal scouring pads. The use of bleach, she said, seems to be endemic. In the company’s eight years, she said she’s seen “so much damage done by this stuff – new floors get washed with it, metal gets ruined by it,” and it can damage ceramics. Averting danger John Markey, vice president/general manager for Absolute! Building Maintenance, Saginaw, MI, had said having the right supplies at the right time could sometimes be like fighting an uphill battle. He stressed, “Delivery is important.” Markey said it’s a good idea for an operation to hold a supervisors meeting when a new product line is introduced by its supplier, and put the product through its own test before bringing it to their accounts, to determine whether the product is better than what they have. What’s in your closet? It is important that a building service contractor (BSC) has the right supplies in its warehouse as well as the account’s cleaning closet, and an in-house cleaning operation stock its closet well. So, what should be in the cleaning closet? Absolute’s! Markey said that depends. After a contract is signed with an account, Markey suggests operations people take a tour of the facility to determine its special cleaning needs. Often, a representative from the supply company is on hand. Bottom line: To retain accounts, you don’t want to “do well” — you want to “do exceptionally well”.

That depends on which hours you refer to. I do my own maintenance, sales calls, follow ups, billing and so on. Add that to my wash hours and I have a 40+ hour work week. I also work full time during the day at another job, so now we get into 80+.

Nice to see you around Mark, it has been a long time since you posted. The death toll is closely approaching the population of my City. Unreal that something can happen that fast and have results this bad.

You have a point Paul, and another thing to consider is always knowing what the MSDS says to do for First Aid, prior to ever needing it. It does you no good to have the paperwork if you do not read it, as the time you do need it, you may have no eyes to do it. Even worse is those that make home brews and have no paperwork or emergency number to call.

Gee Paul, Make me search for the thing. Here is the link to the site so that you do not have to read all the other stuff. Mega Tsunami

Are you Dreaming of a White Christmas?
One Tough Pressure replied to Mike's question in The Club House
The only "White Christmas" here was the receipts of presents and the inside of the wrapping paper. Christmas day was warm and dry around 70°. -
Sodium Hydroxide I knew better and was just to lazy to go outside and get gloves. My wife had burned the heck out of the aluminum baking pan and I just had to prove that I could make it look new again. Well I proved myself right, but then had to explain my almost skinless hand. My driveway suffered a small burn from straight muriatic acid, and hey, that looks new too now.

I agree, as it is not a professional image to work with no shirt, fit or not. And some blaring noise in the background does not help either. Headphones keep it quiet and are not so obvious.

What is the difference between an entrepreneur and a leader?

So how did this spin off topic from "What is the difference between an entrepreneur and a leader? " to what makes a leader? -
What is the difference between an entrepreneur and a leader?
One Tough Pressure replied to Beth n Rod's topic in Business Topics & Tips
A leader can be someone who sets the example to follow, despite the fact that others may not follow. -
That is your company choice though, not law correct?

Due to Security issues, this is a regulated trade here in CA. Not only by the State Licensing board, but also the Dept of Justice as well. Would not want some Convict running around with easy access to everything. -

The district has one locksmith for 27 schools of which all but 2 are over 30 years old. He is a busy guy doing repairs and classroom lockouts as the pins are so worn out. He is also the one to fix the door closers and panic bars. Salary is around $50,000 a year with very good benefits. -
I just figured I would not be able to hear it if I did have something. I have a buddy who just bought some ear phone gizmo and he said it works really well. No law says that you can't listen to music as you work, just use common sense. I do not see it as beng any more unsafe than wearing hearing protection. Both are going to muffle the outside world.

Lance, I did the Foley Belsaw Lock course for awhile then I got busy with other things and it went by the way side. I think it is fun work, have a knack for figuring out locks in mysterios ways. Had a blast doing unlocks when I worked at the mall and laughed hard when AAA would call us to do it for them. I guess I am still enrolled in the course if I were to check with them, and until now, had totally forgot about it. When I started looking into the course, the Locksmith for the school district said he was going to retire soon and that I could take his spot if I got the course done. 8 years later and he is still there, so I am glad I did not bank on him. -

Ken, Who are you calling "Carlos"? I did not see a Carlos in this thread. Lance, Why did you give up Locks to do this work?
