Stripping Ashpalt oil from Vinyl tile??
One Tough Pressure replied to Tim Smith's topic in Floor & Carpet Care
Most important thing for protecting interior floors is to have walk off mats. The longer the better as the feet need to touch it a few times, and most people do not stop to shuffle like they would at home or a friends house. Does the floor have any shine left in it? If so, you may be able to do a scrub and recoat, if not then a more aggressive cleaning is needed. -

With 2 different machines like that, what did he run for nozzles? He may have had all the gpm, but a severe lack of psi. Each nozzle would be putting out 4000 psi and 4 gpm if the nozzles are correct. The only thing that gets cut in half is the gpm.

I could care less as most of my work is at night.

Henry, Since Steel Eagle is so nice, they have options for you. Which one do you want? You can choose a 2, 3 or 4 bar manifold as well.
-
I have both and they both have their ideal uses. The floaters will go anywhere you push them, ie front, back, side to side, while the wheeled ones need more space to maneuver. The floaters usally rest on a brush that gets wear everytime you push it, vs the wheeld ones that if they have a brush at all they have minimal contact with the ground.I have the Steel Eagle 24" with 10" pneumatic tires that I can roll anywhere rather than carry, and if the surface has protruding objects, then I can pop up the front and roll over them. I also have a Steel Eagle Little Floater that will truly hover when pulling the trigger with one hand. That depends on your machine and the surface to be cleaned. A turbo is no different than any other nozzle as you still need to maintain the same distance between the tip and the ground to get even results. The surface cleaner will be faster and more uniform. Also the weightr is in the ground so that equals less fatigue.

unloader to water tank
One Tough Pressure replied to desi's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Eric, It is better for the machine all around, but if you upstream soap, then you better install a 3 way ball valve so that soap does not go into the tank when you release the trigger. So in the case of upstreaming you will still be limited on time to pull the trigger. -
Gee Henry, with all the Surface Cleaners that Beth & Rod offer, you would think he can find one right HERE. You should give your neighbor a pat on the back once in awhile.Eric, What kind of work are you doing? Make sure to pick one that will fit in the majority of places that you will be doing.

Two bored male casino dealers were waiting at a craps table. A very attractive blonde woman arrived and bet twenty-thousand dollars on a single roll of the dice. She said, "I hope you don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I'm completely nude." With that she stripped from her neck down, rolled the dice and yelled, Mama needs new clothes!" Then she hollered..."YES! YES! I WON! I WON!" She jumped up and down and hugged each of the dealers. She then picked up all the money and clothes and quickly departed. The dealers just stared at each other dumbfounded. Finally, one of them asked, "What did she roll?" The other answered, "I don't know, I thought YOU were watching!" Moral: Not all blondes are dumb, but all men are men.

Acid etching & pre-paint prep
One Tough Pressure replied to Craig's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Craig, If you use an acid, it is best to neutralize it so you know that their will be no product failure from any acid that may have been left behind. I have done a few paint preps for people that were going to apply the paint themselves. I use my vacuum surface cleaner and only use chems when needed to get things that 210° will not. Some of my first floors were prepped in May of 2003 and they are still doing just fine without the use of acid. -
So how do you get them down?

Neoprime on colored concrete
One Tough Pressure replied to Craig's question in Residential Pressure Washing
"Neoprime is a single component, water based neoprime primer. Neoprime is designed to enhance adhesion of polyurethane foam to existing built-up roofing, plywood, insulation board or gypsum board. Neoprime is an excellent "Phasing" primer for use between aged spray polyurethane foam before re-application of new spray polyurethane foam. Neoprime is available in the color: Black. Neoprime is designed for application through standard airless spray equipment as well as brush or roller." This sounds like a fun one. You may want to contact these guys and see what they have to say. Resin Technology Division 800-729-0795 http://www.resintechnology.com/MSDS_Neoprime.html -
Welcome to Parent hood. You'll be much happier with the disposablle diapers, try both and see.

Being that you are so new to all of this, I suggest you stick with professionally blended chems and leave the home brews until you become more experienced.

Sometimes on Residential work, I have to park in the driveway. Not my first choice, but it does happen. Now in a modern and perfect world, I would be washing the driveway, but not always. So if you have to park in a customers driveway and you leave tire marks, what do you do? 1) You just leave them there. 2) You rinse them away for free, since they are your customer and you do not want to leave their place dirtier than when you got there. 3) You factor into your price, the cost of rinsing the marks away, but keep it as a hidden charge.

Full time or part time?

Charlie, PWN is not the same as the PWNA, it is another bulletin board. Some people choose not to visit all the boards, just a few of the many. Henry, Quit stirring the pot. -
I thought this was a neat story and wanted to share. I did not know that dogs can be trained for this. Washington Dog Phones 911 for Fallen Owner 1 hour, 5 minutes ago [/url] RICHLAND, Wash. - Faith the service dog phoned 911 when her owner fell out of her wheelchair and barked urgently into the receiver until a dispatcher sent help. Then the 4-year-old Rottweiler unlocked the front door so the responding police officer could come in. "I sensed there was a problem on the other end of the 911 call," said dispatcher Jenny Buchanan, who answered the call from Faith. "The dog was too persistent in barking directly into the phone receiver," Buchanan said at Benton County's Southeast Communications Center. "I knew she was trying to tell me something." Faith is trained to summon help by pushing a speed-dial button on the phone with her nose after taking the receiver off the hook, said her owner Leana Beasley, 45, who suffers grand mal seizures. Guided by experts at the Assistance Dog Club of Puget Sound, Beasley helped train Faith herself. "She's a real trooper," Beasley said Thursday. The day of the fall, Faith "had been acting very clingy, wanting to be touching me all day long," Beasley said. The dog, whose sensitive nose can detect changes in Beasley's body chemistry, is trained to alert her owner to impending seizures before they happen. But that wasn't what was happening on Sept. 7, and Faith apparently wasn't sure how to communicate the problem. During Beasley's subsequent three-week hospital stay, doctors determined her liver was not properly processing her medication for the seizures. "So my whole system was not working right," she said. Faith "was just very concerned," Beasley recalled. "She wouldn't let me out of her sight. She wanted to be touchy-feely." After her adult son left for the graveyard shift, Beasley tried to go to sleep. But Faith kept jumping up on the bed, which is off limits. "It's kind of hard to sleep when you've got an 80-pound dog running around in circles on your bed," she said. So Beasley got up and checked to make sure all the doors were locked and that there was no one outside. She made another attempt at sleep, but Faith would have none of it. "Within five minutes she was doing the same thing all over again." So Beasley got up again and decided to make some hot chocolate. The last thing she remembers is reaching for the tea kettle. "I didn't feel anything," she said. "I just went unconscious." After the call from Faith, Buchanan dispatched Richland police Cpl. Scott Morrell. He arrived to see Faith and her predecessor, now-retired service dog Bronson, peering at him from Beasley's front window. Morrell knocked, and then realized the door was unlocked. "Faith had already opened the door for him," Beasley said. The dog has been trained to recognize police officers, firefighters and medical personnel as "special friends with cookies." Inside, Morrell found Beasley on the kitchen floor — unconscious after striking her head in the fall and suffering a seizure — and called for medical assistance. Faith watched intently while a paramedic tended Beasley and at one point tried to tell him that another seizure was imminent. He didn't recognize the signal, but minutes later, "Boom, I went into another seizure," Beasley said. She woke up in the hospital several days later. Faith joined her after her transfer to the Veterans Administration hospital in Walla Walla. Authorities learned about Faith's intervention when Beasley stopped by to thank Buchanan and Morrell after her release from the hospital. A Benton County Emergency Services news conference Thursday put Faith and her owner in the limelight. ___ On the Internet: Assistance Dog Club of Puget Sound, Gig Harbor-based nonprofit (253-853-1984) made up of people with service dogs, www.dogsaver.org/adc/ International Association of Assistance Dog Partners, www.iaadp.org
