  1. downstream injector installation questions

The hole is no smaller than your regular tips. It will not harm the pump as long as it is rated for your machine size. I run mine at the gun, and disconnect the hose when done.
  2. X-Jet Hose?

Fill a bucket with hot water and X-Jet that. It will help soften the hose up a little. Repeat as neccesary.
  3. bad unloader?

Low pressure is a sign. Do you have a pressure gauge? Do a pressure check right off the pump head and see if the psi is what the pump is rated for. You must not let go of the trigger when you do this or it will cost you dearly. I use the jumper hose from the pump to the unloader, so I have a short run. Holding the gun firmly open, turn on the machine and get a pressure check. Make sure you turn the machine off and let it fully stop before letting go of the trigger
  4. How old is this thing

    Older than your grandpa's Studebaker.

Ah Man!!! If they only knew that you took pictures and posted them on the internet for all to see.

  7. Cleaning floors is high-pressure business

Cleaning floors is high-pressure business by Bob Grasso When done correctly, cleaning a floor using a high-pressure floor cleaning system can be relatively fast and easy. A dual-surface cleaner washes hard surface floors with up to 1,200 psi and cleans carpets with instantly heated solution at 212 degrees Fahrenheit, and is ideal for cleaning such establishments as restaurants, hotels, and more. Instead of using traditional cleaning methods to scrub the floors β€” a rotary buffer, mop, and bucket β€” using a high-pressure floor tool that releases 2.2 gallons of water per minute at 1,200 psi means a faucet connection β€” and no need for a recovery reservoir. How it’s done Before cleaning with this method, the floor area should be cleaned in the following five stages: 1. Sweep the floor to remove large debris and soil. 2. Spray the floor with an alkaline cleaner to loosen and break up the soil for quicker removal. 3. Clean small sections at a time, 100 to 200 square feet. 4. Allow the cleaner to dwell five to 10 minutes, or as recommended by the manufacturer. 5. Using the floor wand, high-pressure scrub the floor moving in a steady, left to right motion, partially overlapping areas just cleaned. For heavily soiled areas and discolored grout, allow the machine to high-pressure scrub the area longer or repeat the cleaning process. No need for these Eliminate setup time and speed up floor maintenance time. Clean as much as 1,000 square feet of floor space in one hour, without: Pads Buffers Mops Buckets Bob Grasso runs a carpet cleaning business in Manteca, CA.
  8. Jon

Jon goes in for surgery on the 27th. After that he will be down for several months so if you need to contact him, you better do it now. opclean@earthlink.net
  9. Pressure Drop??

Based on 3/8" hose, it is about 1 psi per foot.
  10. What do you think of this Rig deal on Ebay?

Steel Eagle rates their 24" surface cleaner for a minimum of 1500 psi and 3 gpm. Sure more is better, but you can run one from this.

    Sweet Justice!
  12. area coverage

All depends on the money involved.
  13. best ideas for rigs

If you plan to carry any water, you will soon need a bigger truck.
  14. This blew me away...

Ah man, I never get gifts or letters, but thank goodness for cold hard cash.
  15. What do you think of this Rig deal on Ebay?

The first one is low on gpm at only 4.2, and the second one is off their rocker as to the specs of the unit. They claim 5000 psi and 8 gpm. Not with an 18 horepower engine.
  16. Truck questions

In my biased opinion, Super Duty rules.
  17. Kohler Carb problem

Have a Kohler 12hp with a Mikuni Carb. Turned on the gas just to see it dribble down the side and make a big mess. Take a close look to see where it is coming from and after looking at both sides of the carb, realize it is a very small plastic plug that is missing. No where to get a new one in the middle of the night, so I used the ink cartridge from a ball point pen and voila, got me done and home. Anyone ever have this problem? Worked fine 2 days ago and then this. Will need to track doen some "plugs" and keep a few on hand.
  18. Kohler Carb problem

If I can fix it in the field, I will do. Before I tried the pen, I used a whole bunch of other stuff and almost felt defeated. I am not a master mechanic, but I get by in most situations. Ryan, The plug is so small that I will never find it. I will go to the mower store and see if they carry any, but Mikuni Carb is less than 30 minutes away. It will be labor intensive to replace the plug with an original one as it is way in there and is very small. I think a box of pens will be better suited. Just wonder why it came out. I should tap it out and install a screw.
  19. who will be next ??

Morgan, I thought you hooked up some side deal washing after you left Hummer.
  20. Pressure!

Changing the engine speed will also decrease the gpm. With 2 gpm you do not have much to clean with if you decrease it. This unit is a direct drive and the pump takes alot of heat off the engine. If you slow down the engine on an air cooled unit it will run hotter and transfers to the pump. You can actually cook the pump if you ran it too long like this. The best way to reduce psi on any machine is by changing tips. If you feel this machine will serve a purpose for smaller jobs, then spend the few bucks to make this machine accept different tips like most other machines. Take off the tip that is allen screwed on and see if there is any threads at the tip of the wand. If so you can just screw on a 1/4" quick coupler and get the needed tips, if not you can either thread it yourself or buy a new wand.
  21. The Silent Debate

Several centuries ago, the Pope decreed that all the Jews had to convert or leave Italy. There was a huge outcry from the Jewish community, so the Pope offered a deal. He would have a religious debate with the leader of the Jewish community. If the Jews won, they could stay in Italy; if the Pope won, they would have to leave. The Jewish people met and picked an aged but wise Rabbi to represent them in the debate. However, as the Rabbi spoke no Italian and the Pope spoke no Yiddish, they all agreed that it would be a "silent" debate. On the chosen day, the Pope and the Rabbi sat opposite each other for a full minute before the Pope raised his hand and showed three fingers. The Rabbi looked back and raised one finger. Next the Pope waved his finger around his head. The Rabbi pointed to the ground where he sat. The Pope then brought out a communion wafer and a chalice of wine. The Rabbi pulled out an apple. With that, the Pope stood up and declared that he was beaten, that the Rabbi was too clever and that the Jews could stay. Later, the Cardinals met with the Pope, asking what had happened. The Pope said, "First I held up three fingers to represent the Trinity. He responded by holding up one finger to remind me that there is still only one God common to both our beliefs. Then, I waved my finger to show him that God was all around us. He responded by pointing to the ground to show that God was also right here with us. I pulled out the wine and wafer to show that God absolves us of all our sins. He pulled out an apple to remind me of the original sin. He had me beaten and I could not continue." Meanwhile the Jewish community gathered around the Rabbi. "How did you win the debate?" they asked. "I haven't a clue," said the Rabbi. "First he said to me that we had three days to get out of Italy, so I said to him, 'Up yours!' Then he tells me that the whole country would be cleared of Jews and I said to him, 'we're staying right here.'" "And then what," asked a woman. "Who knows?" said the Rabbi, "He took out his lunch, so I took out mine."
  22. A big decision but sad one

You gotta do what you gotta do. I guess that quitting the full time job and washing instead was not an option. I work full time at another job as well, so I know that it can be really tough to make time for family. Part of you says you need to make money for the family and the other part says that while making money, you aren't with them. Good luck and Take care!
  23. Gas Station Canopies

The ideal thing would be to pump the water to the drain so that you do not need to stop and dump. It is not just the stuff on the canopies, you will get lots of soil when the water hits the ground and then you rinse to cleanup what fell down. I guarantee that there will be more than you expect.
  24. Back in the saddle...

Weclome back and Best wishes for a speedy recovery for the in-laws.
  25. Gas Station Canopies

How big is your tank? Nothing worse than not having enough space for dirty water. You should be able to discharge to the Sanitary sewer and they have one on site somewhere. If you have any doubt if this is legal , then I suggest you contact the local treatment plant that covers the area to confirm. Sometimes they require prefiltering of any solids.
