Runoff vs. Pool water?
One Tough Pressure replied to svp07's question in Residential Pressure Washing
The that would be the Storm Drain. In my City you need to pull a permit for draining a pool and the basic requirements are this... chlorine level below 1ppm(which basically means no chlorinating for a week or so) Done between the hours of 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM Why this is leagl I do not know, but those are the rules. Up North in Contra Costa County, they require that it be drained through the Sanitary sewer, at no more than 20 gpm. Talk to your local water dept and see what they have to say in regards to pools. As far as your runoff, with or without chemicals you are supposed to be recovering it. Some areas do not enforce and so nobody worries about it. Does not mean it is right, or okay, just means that is what is going on. -
The term "low baller" is used way to loosely in this business. Everytime someone charges less than someone else, somebody gets called a low baller. Everybody has different operating costs, as well as living styles. Ken you live in PA and Mike lives in FL. Different markets demand different rates. Let's keep it civil.

And who else is on there?

The New Hydro Tek Surface Cleaner
One Tough Pressure posted a topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
http://www.hydroteksystems.com/teksheet/ts-acc-hydro-vacuum.pdf I can not imagine using a surface cleaner like this. Nor could I imagine loading and unloading it either. The use of this unit, will mean that in addition to the pressure line and discharge hose on the ground, you will also have an electrical cord to trip over. They could be tied together if the discharge hose went back to the trailer and not to the sanitary drain somewhere. So who here would use this surface cleaner? When I heard that they were coming out with one, this was not what I pictured. -
Welcome to the bbs PA Dutchman. How about a name in your signature?
-
Actually Dale, you called Jon an old fart.
-
He only said someone, not some young hottie.

Who said the survey person was a female?
-
Paul, I actually figured it out on my own, as I looked at the profile for the person in question, just a minute ago. When I saw that, I said "Now I get it". Raced over here to see if I could beat you to the answer, but missed out.

What is so special about this place?
-
Yes, I am serious on wanting to move. However where is the question. As much as I would like to go where I feel it is best, I am a little weary of a cross country move where I have to research every little detail to make sure it is the right choice. It would not be an easy task, and will take much planning. I need a nap just thinking of all the stuff that is involved.

In many places the Fire Depts are accountable for the hose and when they need new ones they must return the old ones, so finding it may be a chore. Except for the larger sizes available, I do not see how it works any better for clsoing the gap on the ground. As far as the pool drain hose goes, the larger the better. Especially if you wil be using a sump pump rather than a vacuum to pick it up. I have used the 2" pool hose filled with sand to slow the water long enough for the vacuum toget it, but doubt that it will work very well with a sump alone. If I were to use a sump for picking up the water, I would buy water booms from www.newpig.com as they are much larger than the pool hose. If you want to try the pool hose, look in the pool section of Home Depot or the like as they sell 50 foot rolls for about $20.00 rather than $3.00 a foot in the plumbing section.

What a great day for a birthday, guaranteed Party somewhere. Hope it was a good one.

Careful with that Duct Tape, that it does not remove paint, or leave residue from being hit with hot water. Repainting the wall, or scrubbing at adhesive all day will not make you a happy camper.

I just got a call from Jon @ Oasis. He said that after downloading the new 5.5 version of AOL IM, that his system will not even turn on. So he advises against upgrading to the 5.5. He figures with the Holiday, that it may be several days before he comes back to visit. I upgraded a few days ago and have not had any problems, but you just never know anymore. So when that window pops up and asks you to "upgrade now", stop and ask yourself "Do I feel Lucky?", "Well, do I?"
-
Bad Fan gave IM 5.5 a bad rap. He is good now.

Dave, My sister was referring the green washable stuff, but I love that picture of yours, car included. It would be nice to have some land, not trip on the neighbors house. I would be happy in a cardboard box, if it was in the middle of that field. Seymore, My wife keeps mentioning Texas, not sure why, but it has come up more than a few times. Rodney & Matthew, I did one of those "Pick a Place to Live" Surveys and it listed many NC locations. I am already laid back, so I would fit right in. I am not looking for weather similar to here, just a nice place that does not break the bank to live a somewhat normal life. I would prefer to live in the Sticks, but wife wants have some City life nearby. Paul, Hawaii, are you losing your mind? Darn cost of living is higher than here. Jon, C'mon, one more washer in Florida won't hurt anything. Besides, by the time I would get there, many would probably be gone anyway. Or do you have the problem of, for every one guy gone, 3 more pop up to replace him? The three would be the guy who bought the old guys equipment, and his 2 buddies who fell for the get rich quick scheme and went and got equipment of their own. "We are gonna Rule this place" is a familiar phrase. 3 months later they are all selling out and up pops 3 more with buddies in tow. Beth, That area is so nice, never been there, but have heard from many people and seen many pictures. Thanks for the offer on Wood Care. If I did go that way, I wouild of called you anyway, so I am glad you offered, or you may have been suprised when I just showed up one day. Rick, Strip clubs and Pawn shops, as well as the rampant crime sound just like LA. Feels like home already. Every area has that in one spot or another, so that alone is not a reason to not move somewhere. Arizona never crossed my mind, but I sure like the Sheriff that runs Maricopa County. Check this out! I may be just dreaming that one day we are not surrounded by a paved world with the neighbors house so close that you can spit on it, but it never hurts to dream I guess.

Have a nice "Trip", see you next "Fall". Are you gonna visit Beth while in D.C., I think she lives very close.
-
He is hooked. Just couldn't stay away. Darn boards are almost like crack.
-
It did not go anywhere, it is still where you left it in that thread. Just in case you get any ideas to try and delete it, I must post it here.
-
Is that even you? Looks like something off a U2 album cover. Why not use the one where you played dress up?
-
Computer was down, so I missed this on the right day. Glad you had a good one.
-
I think they will have to settle for the "straight" virus, as most do not carry the Trojan. My computer was just in the shop to clear 12 viruses that had gotten by Norton. Not sure what kind of viruses they were, my wife was the one who picked up the cpu.

Whew, your finally gone!! Just kidding, have fun and see you when you come back.

How do you guys do it???
One Tough Pressure replied to One Tough Pressure's question in Residential Pressure Washing
That is what started this whole thing, the super long driveways that if parked on the street would require 500+ of pressure hose as well as lots of supply hose. I see that Paul has been in the same situation that I have been.
