And you meet the nicest people. Hood are really easy, the ducts and fans are a different matter, which is why some companies don't clean those.

If you know what your expenses are, you will know what to charge. Besides, if you asked what I charge, I would refuse to tell you until you had credibility with me.

if you are thinking about changing your business tax structure, you need to talk to your accountant first. You also should talk to your attorney.

PLease help!! I need forms.
Douglas Hicks replied to Bobby Wheeler's topic in Documents, Forms & Proofs
Maggie will take care of you. She is the smartest hood cleaner I know, she got into another line of work. -
Because Scott is his own man, he is my hero. (His wife told me I could say that) I protest this whole thread because it discriminates against all of us who have been in business more or less than 11 years.

Need help with bid for an HOA
Douglas Hicks replied to Speedway ProWash's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Why not have a minimum charge for a minimum cleaning. How much time does it take to set up and take down for an hour of graffittee removal, 10 minutes, 15 minutes? What is the drive time to that job site. You do not want them to call you for only 15 minutes of work. -
All I know is what I read in the magazines. And the words better be short.

I do not know of anyone offering a structered training in PW. Most of just blundered along, learning the hard way. You newbys at least have the BBS now. Adrian's suggestion is a good one, but I would never help a competitor in my area. You might get a better response by contacting someone in a different area.

And we have not even addressed the employee issue yet.

I jpurchased 2 Cox reels from Delco in about 1999. One died about 3 years ago, the other is still in use. The no name I got to replace the dead Cox is still working, but to date, the more expensive Cox was less expensive.

I thought this a greaser poll, because we are up late at night. When I was younger, I got by on 2 - 4 hours a night, with a nap in the evening bofore my resturant work. Now, I need more than 2-4 hours. But, like so many self-employed, I am up by 5:30 AM. I cannot sleep more than that as there is so much to do.

Chemical Injector problem
Douglas Hicks replied to map_911's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Get a 5 gallon bucket, filled w/clean water. Drop the chemical hose in the bucket and put a clamp on the gun. run the pump while rolling up your supply hose. I have used the same ds for several months now. -
Mr Dog, your are acting like you did when you first came here. Rude, & obnoxious. We don't have to agree here, but respect is due to others here. If you think you have been wronged, contact Beth and Ron privately. This is not the place to air those assumed wrongs.

Allison Super Suds Sucker manual ( 3-10 gallons )
Douglas Hicks replied to MichiganPowerWashing.com's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I don't have a super sucker, but my injector has been in servcie a year, and works just fine. I do run clean water through it at the end of every job though. I think mine is engraved 3-5 gallons though. It may be yours is the wrong one. You do have the arrow pointing in the direction of flow? That would be away from the chemical tank and to the hose. Are there any air leaks, which may be evident by bubbles in the clear plastic hose. -
Unloader Blowout Issue?
Douglas Hicks replied to AdvWindowCleaning's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I am not Jason, but I think I can help. That is a thermal relief valve. It blew because it got too hot. Buy another one, install it and go back to work. You have taxes to pay. -
Has he never seen some of the other BBS?

When you wrote Dental School, I had a vision of a 3,000 PSI PW in the back room, a hose snaking down the hall and telling the patient "open wide!" Makes sense, the dentist does use a tiny PW. What does propylene glycol do for the cleaning process? A detergent, surfactant, foamer, rinsing agent?

NAPA parts houses can often put ends on the hose. I have 1/2 inch mpt crimped on my hose, then use garden hose fittings. At Chris says, not the thin crap ends. keep some extra gaskets also. Again, not the cheap crap, the good ones.
-
Most automotive parts house also have the good red hose. Not cheap, but what is the cost of job when the supply hose blows?

Do you mean to tell us that Congress lied? Next you will tell us there is no Santa Claus.

What is up with the multiple requests to Log In? Seems as if I am being asked to Log In multiple times on most BBS. Any one else have that problem?

Now see, Mr Gutterdog, that is where us greasers have the advantage over you flat workers. We would just point to the grease we removed and tell them to get a bucket and take their half of the gross product. Can't get much grosser than old grease, unless you work the honey truck. We have a monthly meeting. I have an outline I follow, written notes are kept. One of the topics is safety. Your lladder against the gutter would be covered under "Safety" and possibly "not damaging the customers property" . Except, I often put my ladder against the gutter to get on the roof of resturants.
