  1. Please help

http://www.nationallienlaw.com This address reads National Lien Law, not Nation alien law. You can plug in your state and get an idea what you can do. It would still be a good idea to talk to an attorney. My attorney wrote me a letter outlining what I can and cannot do and when to call him to handle the problem.
  2. Can't remove belt wheel

Some parts houses/rental stores will rent you a puller. Pullers come different sizes and configurations.
  3. Can't remove belt wheel

it is not a "wheel", it is a pulley. the bolts need to be longer so when they are threaded into the pulley hub, they will seat against the shaft and force the pulley off. Put some penetrating oil in the bolt holes and where the pulley and shaft interface. Turn each bolt in the same distance, about 5 turns max. Then turn them in again, about 5 turns. If you are feeling resistance, stop and tap the pulley with a rubber mallet or wooden mallet. If you hit hte pulley w/a metal hammer you could find out how much a new pulley will cost. If you do buy new bolts, get at least a grade 5, preferably a grade 8. You might find grade 5 at the hardware store, but to get grade 8 you will have to go to a parts house. Not Home Cheapo or Blowes, they will sell you a grade 2 and tell you it is a good as the grade 5 or grade 8. When you put hte pulley back on, make sure to use some anti-seize on the shaft. Make sure the pulley height is the same as the other pulley.
  4. Trailer Choice

I am going to order a 6x12 tandem w/torsion bar closed trailer this week. A torsion axle keeps the trailer from bouncing as much, which leads to bent axles. Figure an axle is good for 3500 total weight, 2 axles are good for 7000 GVW. A single axle will be overloaded w/275 gallons of water. A gallon weighs 8.5 #, is 2400 #. Add a PW, hoses, chemical, tools, you may be overloaded quickly.
  5. A very useful Retirement Calculator!

When I first tried it, I had to work until I was 70. then I used the figures based upon my check from President Obama. That showed I have to work untill I am 101.
  6. New estimate sheet

If you had a laptop, and a printer, you could print out a customized estimate in 10 or 15 minutes. Keep your estimate in Word, with all the types of work you do. Cut and paste to a new estimate and then delete any parts that do not pertian to that job. "Save" the estimate as changed, and print it.
  7. $350 or bust

Professional Orgs I belong to NAFED, fire extinguishers and suppression systems. $395.00 NFPA $115.00 National Fire Sprinkler Association $500.00 Oregon Fire Equipment Distributors $150.00 Some orgs are worth more, others are worth less. Only you can decide.
  8. The only problem with Sprinter Source is those pesky folks with the NCV3. I have a 2003 140 SHC 2500 and a 2005 158 SHC 2500. The 2003 gets 24-26 MPG and I get 20 in the 2005. Much nicer to drive than the Ranger, the E250, the E350, the Step Van and even my F150. I even took my Sprinter to Elk camp in November.
  9. If you mount your vacuum up on the wall of the van, can you drain the vacuum to a holding tank? Then drain the holding tank? At one time, a long time ago, motor homes had a siphon tube arrangement that drained the holding tank into the exhaust system. The heat burned all the nasties, the holding tanks were emptied on a long trip. What size Sprinter and model? Tin1 or NCV3? I have 2 of them, good vans, except the repairs are not cheap.
  10. Please help

You need to get a copy of the lien laws, how to file a lien, the time limits, what you can do and cannot do. You need to know what the fees to you will be and what can be passed on to your former customer. You may be able to file a lien, but that just gets the process started. You need to know the next step, is it small claims court, forclosure? What can you do and what does the lawyer need to do. After small claims, or forclosure, how do you collect. How long does the process take, how much money will it cost. Remember, every state is different. The law is like our trades, go to a professional. When this is resolved, come and tell us, it will help the rest of us.
  11. Hose, like heater hose. I tried hose clamps, but kept snagging my fingers and tearing the skin. Fortunatly, the lye kept the infection under control. I thought about gluing the heater hose in place, but never got around to trying that. I use 150 feet of hose for cleaning hoods. I think you flat workers abuse your hoses more than I do. I get 3-4 years from my hoses.
  12. I have used short hoses in the past, I did not like the lumps when I rolled the hose up. Can you give me an idea how long the total connection is when you use JIC?
  13. How many uses for duct tape are there?

This post is useless with out pictures.
  14. Supply Hose Reel Restrictive?

No! NO! 1/2 of the hose is uphill, and 1/2 is down hill. It all evens out. But what does make a difference is if you have parked so the hose reel is algned with the longitude of the earth. or is it latitude. Larry will need to step in here now. Us old guys stick together. Thanky our ogo, soon you will be an honorary " Old Guy"
  15. Supply Hose Reel Restrictive?

That is why I do not roll all my hose out. The water does not have to travel so far, keeping your volumn and pressure up.
  16. There is a window open

See previous post on duct tape
  17. Who has a copy of the yellow pages?

The phone book is a valuable resource book. You can find customers, suppliers and your competitors in the phone book. I have about a dozen in my office and 6 in my Sprinter. I get extra phone books, and put them in the vehicles. One of my techs did not understand why he should have phone books and I could not properly explain to him why a phone book was just another service manual. One day he called and asked me to look up a phone number. I refused and remineded him that he had told me he had no need of a phone book. I dd not have the time to look up a phone number. I also told him to go the closest motel and ask them for a phone book. He still does not understand like any dated material, phone books need to be replaced.
  18. Paul, I have a question about the duct spinnner from Mosmatic. You have a listing for a 3 nozzle spinner, but the picture shows a standard 2-arm spinner. Where is the 3rd nozzle? Does it spray out the center of the spinner? If so, what good is a nozzles spraying down the duct?
  19. Fleet or Flat or Hoods?

    Or dirtier, or worse hours.
  20. Congrats President (elect) Obama

To vote in the early Federal elections, you had to be a property owner, male, over 21, & white.
  21. Congrats President (elect) Obama

McCain did not seem to have any fire or passion about what he could do for this country. His speeches were uninspired and lead me to believe we did not have a man of vigor wanting to lead the country. Obama's delivery got better as he campaigned. he told the people what he would do, he (and McCain) did not tell the people that Congress actually controls the purse strings. I kept waiting for Obama to tell us what the payment for all the free stuff was going to cost and where the money was going to come from. I like Mr. Stone, wonder what & when his first promise hits the trash can. I hope I get my free money quickly, before my taxes go up to pay for all the free stuff.
  22. Are you a DBA, LLC, or Inc.

I am an S Corp. But I noted my attorny is now an LLC. That makes me think I should be an LLC
  23. Swabby Practice pictures

I just want to see it doing the roof.
  24. 16hp Charging Amps

I was told the amperage demand on my Delco was 18 amps with the burner on. That is a 2 amp cushion. I usually let my pw run for a while w/o the burner on to charge the battery.
  25. stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid!!
