Scott, you don't always need to respond. Just like I have no need to respond to your email. In this case Chris revamped an old thread and then it gets to a pi$$ing match. All I was trying to tell you was stop. Very simple.
-
Shut it down now Scott. Enough is enough.
-
Well that explains why you dont consider ************ any competition to your business now doesnt it?
-
Thats too funny Rick.

I thought I was doing good when I had a full time job and had two employees. For those fearing to make the jump dont. It can make you so much happier. Everyone has a goal in mind and its up to you to fulfill that goal. Put yourself around good people and smart people and you too will succeed.

Brian,
Great advice. This is the reason we have continued to expand every year with another truck, trailer and/ or more equipment. Most people we deal with on the residential side are amazed we can get them scheduled within, at most, a two week time frame. Our competitors cannot offer them that option therefore resulting in more clientale.

And from what I hear Jake is a good golfer. Too much time in Cali will do that to you.

Could that be because he cant sell the systems? Or is it to help promote his pals Org?
-
John,
I want a picture of you in a tyvek suit. Bet you wouldnt post that....CHICKEN...

LOL> We normally start our mowing first week of April. We are weeks out now because of the way the weather has been. Its just plain mother nature....Now back to the garage to try to figure out to put a surface cleaner on that remote...
-
Shane,
That was the old way. Here is our latest.

Kristopher,
It may be easier and better to hire good employees and you do the sales. No one knows "your" business like you do. I find it easier to sell our services then to send someone else. And it keeps me off the wand and being able to enjoy life. As well as the time to attend committee meetings, association meetings, etc. Just my opinion. And my experience. Plus the salesperson will cost you more than the typical laborer.

I havent even started on the residential end. We have plenty to do otherwise. And just ordered a new fat boy yesterday to set up the new truck. So next couple weeks we will be building a new skid with tanks and fat boy on it. Also have to take the plow and salt spreader off the same truck...
Our commercial is more focused than ever. We are not doing any commercial that are on the low end. We have implemented a three strike rule for commercial clients. Our residential end of marketing is ridiculous. We are sending out 2500 EDDM cards twice a week for residential.

Just curious about how many of us wear hats while working. And what type? Anyone have pictures?

There are a few names and companies I would think that would participate, in something like what you're asking John, as a way to give back. If used properly it could be a great marketing tool (almost as good as my TWIT certification). We run into so many professionals that dont realize what pressure washing can do. And there are some that think there are only three pressure companies out there.

Mike,
I agree 100% on this. Too many problems with people using our photos already and I dont allow it. I am not as tech savvy as most and I am the first to say it. But doesnt google recognize when its a photo being used as such? For the price of a camera, or use of your phone, its well worth the hassle of taking your own photos. If you cant then you shouldnt have any. We take photos upon doing the estimate. Theres your before. And its benefit to do this as you can compare houses and possibly research why you did get one house and not another, i.e. did you price one higher, etc.

Happy retirement Larry. I am sure its well deserved. So many wouldnt be where they are today without your knowledge and voice.

Al,
Not sure as I think there are many options. I would recommend to stay away from Best Buy. We have been duked by them on several occasions in the past two years. Including the Geek Squad. Its worthless and I am guilty of falling for their sales pitch. We even had a laptop hard drive go bad from there that wasnt even a year old. Took two weeks to get it back and they mailed it and left it on our porch. Since that day I have stayed out of there.

Dont be gun shy Al. No reason to be.
-
Jim,
Prayers sent your way. Rest easy. And have a good recovery...

LOL I remember the days I would say booo too. But the snow business has been an extra blessing.
This winter we have put some new systems in place. We have edited and changed many systems. Marketing included. More tracking will make us aware of the new systems we are putting in place. And the old systems that didnt produce we are not and will not be doing anymore. Pretty good stuff. We havent did the numbers for Feb yet but Jan was the best January ever for us.

Its exciting to know spring is around the corner. Although for us we are still awaiting the storm coming this Weds.
I had on my list to do this week, to remove the snow plow and spreader. But that is on hold. Nice to make that extra chunk of change going into spring. For us our machines will be serviced to full extent as usual. Sames with the trucks and trailers. I think alot of people forget about the maintenance on trailers.
Our marketing never ends. We just produce more pieces at certain times frames thru the year.

Rob, I would think what Rick said would be correct to the opposite as well. Water and oil don't mix. I don't think I would risk this one.
