  1. Does anyone worry about people stealing hoses or equipment off trailers? I have never really given it much thought but apparently (I found this out last night from my neighbor) I had 2 visitors walking around one of my trailers as it sat in my driveway. They supposedly walked around the trailer eyeballing the generator and water cannon. (funny part is that this is the trailer that is basically empty) But it made me think of what can happen. I know times are tough for some and theft of copper, etc is at a high now but really to come into a persons driveway?

  2. Guys,

I will have to say I would only mix it right before the job now. I made a house wash mix last year and let it sit overnight as I wanted to leave out early and thought this would save me some time. What I got the next morning was SNOWBALLS. The mix had crystallized into what looked like snowballs. Some were small and some were large. I thought someone was messing around as a joke and called all the guys in. We all got a kick out of it.

I did talk to Bob (PressureTek) and he told me that it can happen (if I remember right) if the temperatures are below a certain temp, etc... So I would suggest calling him if you are using his products. BTW the mix I was using at that time was not SC but was another product.

  3. Daniel,

There are several different options you have. You can use a smaller (approx.50-100 gallon) tank as a "float tank" and feed the water hose from the residents house as needed. If you have a van you can even install a water tank in there. Of course these 2 options are to try to stay within the weight limit of a single axle. Just an idea. Other options are to look around at who is selling trailers and see how they are set up. This would probably mean going to a bigger trailer. Good luck.

  4. Rod,

The BT100 is from EatOils (www.eatoils.ca). They are in Canada but ship out of NY and I received my stuff in 2 days time. The Light Duty Concrete Cleaner is from Prosoco (www.prosoco.com). I would stay away from the Heavy Duty of Prosoco as I was told it will etch the concrete.

Then Vseal and Delco sells the Re-Krete powder formula. Dont know if thats the name for both those companies. If you spread this one its looks great with no power washing. However it will fade in time and stains come out. So what I would suggest is to use the powder first and then go back with the BT100 or LDCC. I personally favor the BT100 since you can spray it after you have done every thing and it will still work after you leave the site.

Hope this helps some. The kitty litter is the same purpose/idea as the powder formula but I am not sure if its as effective.

  5. Beth/ Rod,

Prosoco has some good products however if you use them make sure you do ALL the concrete. When I used them I didnt and got what looked like bleach spots. So I had to re-do what I already did. Eatoils BT100 seems to really clean the concrete good. I actually use BT100 now and when I finish I go back with a pump up sprayer and spray again and let it sit. As long as the concrete is wet you shouldnt get any of the "bleach" spoting I received with Prosoco. You could use the Re-Krete (dry powder form)from V-seal before you power wash. Then once thats applied go back and power wash. May have to do the area more than a one time cleaning with anything to remove the "shadow" stain from the oil.

Hope this helps some. Just my 2 cents...

  6. With all the mishaps and etc. around the PWNA I thought this would be interesting to everyone involved. I took a Wood Restoration class and received my PWNA certification earlier this year. However, with the PWNA attending the NADRA (Deck Expo) they are offering the same class. It does not say if this is a PWNA certification but does say it goes towards NADRA's. My question to ANYONE who could give me an answer is why in the world did I pay 799$ for a PWNA class when the same class is being offered for 495$ to NADRA members and 545$ to Non-members. The way I figure it out is if I had went to Vegas I could put the savings towards the NEW PWNA membership. Can anyone justify why the difference in price?

Please feel free to answer if you can cause at this time I cannot.

  7. Wasn't sure where to post this but figured the kitchen guys would know more. What products / techniques would you use to do tile floors? Basically, I have a client that runs a hospital that wants the bathroom tiles done. Not sure of how he could do it or if i suited to do it. One major factor is that outside the bathroom is carpeting and cannot get wet. I was thinking more along the lines of steam cleaning but I have never done that.

    Thanks,
