Funny you should mention about flow. I was using my 4000/4gpm direct drive with my tank and found I was not getting enough water to the PW. I had to hook up to the cutomers spicket and it worked great. Does'nt belt driven machines pull the water in ??? -

I will definately be calling both of you. My next problem is that I may have to get a new bigger truck. I really do not and actually cannot have a trailer for two reasons. 1- To much exposure for being in the city. 2-Where I park my truck/trucks is a semi public garage. I am trying to see if I can fit the machine I want along with all my other stuff including surface cleaners in my E350 Ext van. -
Any Recommendations on a Wood Restoration Class
Tom DeFrancesco posted a question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I am looking into a wood restoration class and noticed the PWNA recommends a 2 day in Orlando. How is this class ? Not that I expect to learn everything but is it worth the $800 ? -

I am tempted to send my wife and kids alone just to tag along with you, but we are leaving for Ocean City, MD on Sat. You can still call when you get the chance. Phone still works on the beach. LOL -

Dave i definately agree with your philosophy. You must maintain your equipment. I guess it comes down to just making a commonsense decision. NOT as easy as it seems. Since getting more involved with pressure washing all I see and hear about is GPM. Dealers are telling me you do not need as much GPM when it is a hot machine. I am having a hard time beleiving this though. I could be wrong. I'm still learning this business. -

Sounds like a nice machine, but a few people said Honda motors over 13hp are not very good. They are telling me Vanguard or kohler. Any truth to this matter ??? -

losing $$$$
Tom DeFrancesco replied to jbruno's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Nice job James. I just put myself in the same situation a couple of days ago with a good friend in Monroe. I only told him he had to pay for materials but now I think I made a BIG mistake. It is a second story w/ 8 steps and a smaller deck @ his above ground pool. (By the way, How do you apply and wash around an open pool ??? ) Really never payed to much attention to it for this exact reason. Says he has only been putting clear sealer on it but want's to color stain it now. I already know I will be stripping it. This is going to be time consuming and will take me away from other projects. Any suggestions on how to change my tune ????? -
Now it all comes together. I will give it a shot. Thanks Adrian. I have some experimenting to get started on.

Thank you everyone. John, I will check him out. I want to stay somewhat in our area just for the fact that if there are any warranty problems I could bring it right back and not have to worry about shipping a 500 lb machine somewhere. A-1 Hydrotek in Westchester is an authorized Landa dealer. They are trying to sell me a 16 hp vanguard belt driven 3500/4.7 skid with a Landa pump, sched 80 coil for $6700. Adjustable thermo is xtra. Anygood ??? -
Sorry. Was talking to my freind Jim on thge phone. Thanks KEN.

I will check it out, Thanks Jim. AC, I did see your mix. 12.5% of what??? Bleach ???

Am I using the surface cleaner the right way ?
Tom DeFrancesco posted a question in Residential Pressure Washing
I finally bought a surface cleaner and used it for the first time today with a cw 4000/4gpm pw on concrete. Although it worked great I found I had to rinse with a fan tip because it kept spreading the residual dirt to either side of the surface cleaner and I could not just leave it. Is this normal ??? -
Can someone please tell me exactly how and what products they/you are mixing so i can stop waisting my time with the big box store cleaners.

Thanks James. I sure would not mind tagging along with you sometimes. 100% of my business is in the city and Nassau. Just moved up here and want to expand a little but definately do not want to step on any toes of a potential friend and collegue. -

Tom DeFrancesco replied to Tom DeFrancesco's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Thank you all VERY much. You guys/gals are very helpful and knowledgable. I am so addicted to this board. To give you guys a little backround on why I am so knieve is because I originally started out as a mobile car wash/detailing and fleet washing company. I was/am using a 2800/3gpm machine just to get the water from my tank to the vehicle when a customer of mine asked me to wash his deck. I gave it a shot and it actually came out great. Two weeks later another customer asked me to wash the lower half of her house which was vinyl siding. That also came out good. I decided i liked this better and dropped the detailing biz and only kept the fleet washing, boat detailing and now powerwashing. Now you will understand my next statement; A ball valve on what when using a surface cleaner ? -
