  1. Sandy

Really bad on Long Beach Island. I have a feeling it will never be the same.
  2. water tank

no Marco, 65 gallons will not wash a house. The purpose of using a tank that small would be to be used as a buffer tank. when the water source is producing less than your output (4.2 Gallons) it makes up the difference. when you are not pulling the trigger it catches up.
  3. Curbside trash can cleaning

Pie in the sky. No way with your numbers. 40 cans an hour??? I like the business model but mess with the numbers - more per can ( $5.?) less per hour. don't forget about Murphy.
  4. Travertine strip and reseal in Tampa

Is that Seal N Lock again? I've been "certified" SNL (Tampa) & done four jobs (small) with SNL. This is the first I've ever heard of de-lamination with this product. Could you please expand on the cause of this problem? I've got a very big job coming up when it gets warm enough to use here again and I don't want to mess it up. Thank you in advance, Tim
  5. Fun Christmas Parade

Update: The Excel Maintenance - "Greedy yet Grateful Grinches" are the Overall first place winners of the 2011 Ship Bottom Christmas Parade. Great job gang!!!!
  6. Fun Christmas Parade

We had fun today in the annual Ship Bottom New Jersey Christmas parade. We managed to get 14 or 15 Lil' Grinches out on a beautiful day at the beach.
  7. Therma Tru door and a Lawyer

how about turning lemons into lemonade? They sell the refinish kits for those doors. Tell him if he buys the kit you will refinish. It comes with a video and everything -it will take you longer to watch the video than to do the door. If you stick to your guns (though you are most likely correct in this case) you could lose a customer and your payment (not sure if you said he paid you already). Take the high road, be better than him and it will pay off down the road.
  8. Need some help

What Rick said, call Tom ACR or Bob. Not really sure what your asking for, but it looks like your on the right path, Start with what you have then upgrade as you can afford.
  9. Our newest toy

watch out Tom, I think Rick has been drinking the Ready Seal again and is looking to steal your lady. LOL
  10. What are the best window cleaning tools?

Assuming all are easy access, single panels (not colonial cut ups) and your market I would say $4 per window inside and out. Then $2.20 per window for just the outside. Things to consider is there water stains on the glass (sprinkler hitting windows), can you get to the windows (is there a 400 pound copier in front of the window, if - so who is moving it?), are you doing the office when it is vacant (it is much harder if you have to hop around people that are working). Good luck.
  11. I feel like a "cheap lowballer!"

hey Brian, You should have a DS and a back up (injector, QC and tube w/ strainer) ready to go. I would not have one or the other, I can understand not having two (2) x jets but an injector is less than $20 bucks- you should have one and a spare especially since it looks like you should be spraying bleach. Well, you live and learn - I think you have learned at the old 'school of hard knocks' on this one. Hang in there - maybe another customer is lurking watching you be so diligent with this job that you will get more work from this - look at it as 'exposure'. best of luck, Tim
  12. Rain Suits

Grunden's, Viking or Heely Hanson. I've had all three brands they all last about two years until they go into the "recycle bin". I get them at my Brother in Law's tackle shop. But any commercial fishing outfitter or high end bait shop should have good gear. BTW, I've been using the blue Viking boots for a couple of years now. they only last a season but they are extremely comfortable, great traction on roofs and they look pretty damn good compared to the ugly black pvc or even worse the "white Disco" Sorrell's.
  13. SH powder distributor in south florida?

I'm not sure but I think AC Lockyer sells under Soft Wash systems, exclusivley through the "Hinderliters" company was Delco now something like DCS. Search AC and you will find it. It is supposed to ship non hazmat, and it is powder so it should not matter much where it comes from - won't be much to ship. Good luck
  14. Lead in Paint -That I knew about

yea I'm certified. The course is painfully boring and full of almost logistically impossible methods of working in compliance. I have not and most likely will not be doing any work that we can not establish (without testing for) does not contain lead. To do it correct will cost a heap of money and most likely someone that does not know (or chooses not to follow) the rules will do it "old school" - out of compliance. We are fortunate that our market has very little of this type of work. For example, if you are working outside on lead paint you are supposed to drop off with plastic 10 feet in each direction from the entire area you are working, wear a special suit, wrap the plastic in a special way for disposal, use hepa vacs ($800) to get dust from beds,...... Oh did I mention, you need to cone and rope off your work area so that the public can not come with in 20 feet of your work area. Also, you need to put a large orange placard on the door to the home to warn the owners and the public of the hazards of lead dust. I'd rather not bother - they are not messing around with the fines - Just better to look other places for work, not worth the risk.
  15. $2000 hose reel.. wow

YEA. Remote control up to 2000 feet range. Hello, you only have 300 foot of hose ?????? When would you need to remote hose while you are working? Aughhh - Whatever, Bahumbug - I'm not making any money at the moment (big snow) but I could never see spending that much on a reel. Happy Festivis everyone! Peace on Earth!
