PWNA is the first Mobile Washing ORG to offer Health Insurance Program
Jim Gamble posted a topic in PWNA News, Events, and Information
When I was asked if I could come on as a PWNA BOD, I wanted to give back to my fellow members...to help them save real money through benefits that I may be able to acquire as a NON Profit ORG.Benefits that would possibly be closed to other organizations. Organizations such as "Personal Profit" Companies that have paid members or "For Profit" Orgs. But what could I do to make our NON Profit Org better? So I decided to give back in an area that I am good at....that is, discounts on the things we as contractors use the most and getting those discounts thru the NON Profit status. In the few months since, I was asked to put a website committee together and build the best possible website that would benefit our members. I believe we did just that with over 350+ Web Pages. This was, and still is, a huge undertaking, but necessary to represent all members within the PWNA. I was also asked to put together a benefit package that our members could really used, both seasoned contractors and the newbies. So I set out to do just that. With the help of the benefit committee, we brainstorm what we thought would be a beneficial program to our members. Sure, it came up that we could flood the site with hundreds of benefits that most would not or could not use for one reason or another. But instead, we took a different approach. I recently heard about discounts that really are not discounts throughout the web. We did not want this. We wanted real and usable benefits that provided real savings that I could not get on my own without a NON Profit Org using their status as a non profit enabling and supporting the discounts behind them. Here is just a few of the things that are already available to our members. PWNA is now offering to its members a new Health Insurance Program. THIS IS A FIRST ! Open enrollment ends March 31st, 2014 This has never been accomplished before by any org. PWNA used its NON Profit status to obtain Benefits. This new outlook on the PWNA is a real eye opener. New REAL Benefits are coming down the line. We are also working on Business Liability Insurance that, through testing the system against J. W. Insurance. The PWNA Benefit of Insurance program, appears to be cheaper than any other discounts advertised on the web. This insurance also does not exclude water damage in the verbiage of the policy. That's right, some Business Insurance policies made for us pressure washers have a clause that may exclude certain types of water damage claims. We wanted to make sure that was not the case with the PWNA membership. This AAA Insurance appears to be cheaper than anything you can find on the open market and we are currently testing the market in several states. So far, we have beat ALL insurances on the market, even with advertised Web Discounts in place. We need more contractors to confirm that the program is cheaper in ALL 50 states. So please, call 800-393-PWNA to get into this great Benefit Program.. Already the phones are off the hook. New members are joining daily....YAHOO ! Health Insurance Program.... I personally went through the program with my health insurance. Afterwards, i end up saving $800 a month. I have the same Doctor, same Hospital, but my co pay / deductible went from 1,500 a year to 500 a year. So this was better insurance, yet I am saving $9,600 a year ! Another member tried it and he is saving almost 5,000 a year from his current health insurance. These are real savings and more then pay for membership alone....But wait...theres more.... We are working on Dental Insurance as well. Yep...that's right Dental Insurance !!! We also have Life Insurance too online as well. But what about Hotels....hows up to 40% off Hotels .com pricing. What about those who are paying for a web presence of $30 to $40 a month...How would you like NOT to pay that? Well how about a FREE webpage that you design, you manage, you load your photos, video and wording. How about it be completely searchable with Yahoo, Google, Bing and other search engines. All of this with you paid membership of $349.95...so If you was to pay $30 a month for a web page lets see....30x12= $360. PWNA Membership is $349. Just this FREE feature pays for your membership. So Health Insurance for you and your family could save you thousands....Web design page could save you hundreds... What more you ask.... Here is a hint....What if you could get a discount on the items you use most in your business? What if you could get travel expense discounts? Need a qualified seasoned attorney? Not those prepaid legal services that are worthless, but a attorney that you can work with you and your issues if needed? What if you can get that too at a discounted rate? How's FREE Business checking with a real "brick and mortar" Bank, not those faceless internet banks? Oh there is so much more.....- 2 replies

PWNA Executive Director Resigns – Message from Eric Clark, President of PWNA
Robert Hinderliter posted a topic in PWNA News, Events, and Information
May 20, 2011 From Eric Clark, President of PWNA I want to announce to the power washing community that Mike Hilborn has resigned as Executive Director of the PWNA. His resignation is in response to a post that he made Monday, May 16th. Within 12 hours of his post, Mike recognized his very poor judgment and had the post taken down first thing Tuesday morning, replacing it with an apology. Tuesday evening Mike called me and communicated his great remorse and submitted his resignation. He took full responsibility for his actions and said that his actions were his own and that they reflected poorly on the PWNA, thus requiring he resign as Executive Director. The PWNA does not, and cannot condone this type of action. This episode is an embarrassment to our organization, and to every Power Wash Contract Cleaner; the negative behavior between fellow contractors needs to stop. This type of action reflects negatively upon the entire Power Wash Industry and gives our customers the perception that Power Washing Contract Cleaners are uneducated and not Professionals similar to Plumbers, Auto Mechanics, Painters, or other Trades. Negativity breeds negativity, and nobody wins; every contract cleaner loses status as a Professional Contractor every time this type of action happens in public. Our Public Perception will largely now be determined by how this industry acts as a whole on the Internet, and particularly on the Industry Bulletin Boards. Every time you make a Negative Post you lower the Public Status of the Entire Power Wash Industry, and confirm that we are not Professionals! Our Profession will be treated exactly how we act as a whole. Mike Hilborn has been a major part of the PWNA and has taken us to greater heights by volunteering his personal time and money to attend many contractor events, creating and teaching Certification courses, assembling trade shows, and many other great pieces of our organization. His Emotions overcame his Better Judgment temporarily resulting in the loss of a key leader in our industry. I feel it’s a shame. Again, the PWNA does not condone this type of behavior. I feel there is a lesson to be learned by everyone involved; act accordingly to how you want to be perceived, are we Professionals or Not? Thank you, Eric Clark PWNA President- 27 replies

PWNA Update June 2009 From Dan Galvin, President It’s “Clean Across America” Time PWNA is inviting members to participate in the Clean Across America community service program this July. This national event is a joint venture with Take Pride in America®, a national partnership program aimed at increasing volunteer service on America’s public lands. In past years, PWNA has tackled some big projects – like power washing the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials – but we recognize that small projects are equally as important. PWNA members are encouraged to get their staff and families help to identify potential community clean-up projects, large or small. It can be something as simple as power washing the steps of a local church to washing statues in a park while a volunteer crew cleans up the litter. Be sure to take pictures of your event and send a note to head office about your project. We like to track the number of projects completed by members of the association. It’s a “Good News!” story that’s worth sharing. For more information, check out www.cleanacrossamerica.info and/or www.takepride.gov. BMPs That Support Environmental Protection Robert Hinderliter, PWNA’s Environmental Committee Chairman, has been busy promoting Best Management Practices (BMPs) as they relate to environmental protection and the pressure washing business. In the recent past, he has given presentations in North Carolina, California, Kansas and Texas. He will continue this educational and networking campaign in the coming months. Robert has been instrumental in establishing Models for Ordinances, Contractor Training and Certification, and BMPs for the PWNA and other related organizations. He has been kind enough to video his EPA training seminars and has posted them on U-Tube for the benefit of others. To view these educational videos, your can simply type “EPA Power Washing” on the U-Tube search engine or (even better) go to www.pwna.org. Click on the EPA logo at the bottom of the home page and you will find direct links to the series of U-Tube videos. Environmental protection is a hot topic right now and PWNA is ever grateful to Robert for spearheading this process. Successful implementation and acceptance of these practices is a critical step for our association and the communities where we operate our businesses. “It is important that PWNA works with industry to establish rules and regulations that are reasonable, rational and logical, rather than legislated,” says Robert. PWNA Conference October 8-10, 2009 Chicago, Illinois Planning is well underway for our annual convention. PWNA members are welcome to provide feedback and ideas for programs and speakers for the event. Visit pwna.org and send us an email. The Board is also asking for suggestions from members on where to hold the 2010 event. If you have any ideas or preferences please let us know as soon as possible. Even in these tough economic times, convention space books up quickly and it is often necessary to secure a facility many months in advance. Website Update Content development and site enhancements to PWNA’s new website are on-going. Be sure to check the web site often to see what your association is doing on your behalf. If you have anything suggestions for pwna.org, we’d love to hear them. Please don’t hesitate to contact us. Feedback, of any kind, is always appreciated. The website now has opportunities for advertisers, too. If you are a supplier or manufacturer of power washing products, please check it out. Did You Know? Membership of the PWNA also allows our members to be linked on our Find a Contractor or Find a Distributor/Supplier pages. Click on the membership link on this page to join us. The larger our membership, the stronger each of our businesses are. Questions? Concerns? Great ideas? Call PWNA’s Head Office (1-800-393-7962) or check us out at Power Washing Contractors | Power Washers | Pressure Washing Contractors. Sincerely, Dan Galvin East Coast Powerwashing
