Russ Johnson 141 Report post Posted September 27, 2007 Somebody got too energetic tightening NPT threads into a BSP fitting. The taper basically expanded the fitting past its stress point.
Doug T 19 Report post Posted September 27, 2007 It freezes a lot in Boca Raton :) LOL. I think you got one of those cheap Chinese inports. Russ, What is BSP, never heard that one
jakeman 14 Report post Posted September 27, 2007 I've had that happen a couple times. It seems like the pressure just found a weak place in the brass a made pin holes in it. Just replace the fitting.
Lightning Gene 66 Report post Posted September 27, 2007 BSP British Standard Pipe
Russ Johnson 141 Report post Posted September 27, 2007 Doug, that unloader is made in Italy. BSP pipe thread has no taper and is designed to be sealed with a copper or aluminum washer where the two pieces meet. NPT will work fine in BSP as long as it's teflon teped well and not overtightened.
