0 Beth n Rod 1,279 Report post Posted January 19, 2008 I am not going to disagree with any of the views put forth here because we all have the blessed freedom of choosing what we believe and what doctrines to follow. My main concern is when people use their faith to vote for a leader because the person they are voting for does not hold to the same virtues and is also controlled by the majority of those that person is trying to obtain votes from. This is the main reason why religion and politics do not mix. Faith is not a shield and politics is not a pragmatic doctrine. In the same arena, they both come under fire and create an irreconcilable debate and fuels hatred. There is too much of it in this world and it is condoned by those in high places and passed on to our children by our societies lack of moral values. Not everyone lives by the golden rule.
