Vinyl looking cedar shakes

Has anybody found these to be difficult to get rid of the mold. It seems that mold get absorbed into the vinyl. Also this product oxidizes very fast. I take care of two house that had this products put on ( very $$$) ) and I find it to be a Pain in the Donkey.

I've cleaned some of those and it cleaned up just like vinyl siding. No problems. I did do one house that had this on it along with vinyl siding. There was a definite difference in the fading between the two.
