I went on a bid last week for a house wash, gutters, and other items, and came across a complete maint free deck, All Plastic, 2 years old, anyway, this thing was filthy, and FADED...? it was a 1500 SQ FT deck, the homeowner payed just over 50% of what a cedar deck would have costed him to build,
he was really upset about how dirty it was, how it was fading, how bad it squueked when walked on and how rickety it was, I told him, there is no such thing as maint free anything, if it is exposed to the elements, anyway, it will cost him $450 to have this plastic piece of junk washed, every other year,
and as far as the fading goes with plactic, I told him, there isnt much you can do with plactic once it fades, but if he went with wood... We could fix that problem, looks like the plastic decks will actually bring us more work than previously thought...
