I just got back from my first "real" power washing job that I hard bid and got. Job was for a truck fleet that had me wash their shop building (with 10 30' sooted doors), 10-foot shop skirting around entire building, 2 large fuel tanks, and a 6 pump diesel fuel bay. I found out that the machine, the chemical, the surface cleaner won't always get the job done. It takes some good old fashioned elbow grease to power through.
I had a small window of opportunity to complete the job. The first night I went in and cleaned from 4 PM to 11 PM. Sunday was from 9:00 AM to 2:00 AM. Had to finish before trucks were rolling Monday morning and I committed to it.
The good feeling is that I completed the job on time and made some descent cash on the deal (even after all business related expenses). Also, I found out the hard work that it takes and know that the threat of any short timers coming in and taking my business will be short lived because they'll find out what it takes.
Hats off to all of you and the hard work you put in!
