No Tank

Recommended Posts

I was reading the owners manual for a belt drive cold water unit. It's using a Briggs 16hp and an AR RKA 45G40 pump. The manual said

"Never use a reservoir tank as a water source.

This pressure washer is designed for a

pressurized water source such as a city water

faucet. Sucking water out of a tank may cause

pump cavitation and damage to your pump."

Is this a CYA on behalf of the manufacturer or is this something I need to worry about? The main reason for even looking at this unit is the ability to draw from a tank and by-pass into the tank.

Gracias Amigos

If set up right you will have no problems, but not knowing how people will use their product it is more of a cya for them.

Keep the unit close to the tank and provide an adequate supply line with minimal bends or small piping. Use of 1" supply hose would do fine.

Some people seem to think they can have a tank on the trailer and take the machine portable using 100 feet of 5/8" hose. That is why the factory has the cya.

Alan,

Thanks for the info. They will both be bolted to the trailer right next to each other. I will use a re-enforced braided 1" hose. My brother lives is Simi. Says he lives in the "Texas" area. Supposedly Simi natives know where that is.
