Mountain View 14 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 I was reading the owners manual for a belt drive cold water unit. It's using a Briggs 16hp and an AR RKA 45G40 pump. The manual said "Never use a reservoir tank as a water source. This pressure washer is designed for a pressurized water source such as a city water faucet. Sucking water out of a tank may cause pump cavitation and damage to your pump." Is this a CYA on behalf of the manufacturer or is this something I need to worry about? The main reason for even looking at this unit is the ability to draw from a tank and by-pass into the tank. Gracias Amigos Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
One Tough Pressure 580 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 If set up right you will have no problems, but not knowing how people will use their product it is more of a cya for them. Keep the unit close to the tank and provide an adequate supply line with minimal bends or small piping. Use of 1" supply hose would do fine. Some people seem to think they can have a tank on the trailer and take the machine portable using 100 feet of 5/8" hose. That is why the factory has the cya. Mountain View 14 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 Alan, Thanks for the info. They will both be bolted to the trailer right next to each other. I will use a re-enforced braided 1" hose.
