Why is it important to rinse off acids?

Question

Why is it important to rinse off Oxylic or citiric or citralic acids after you neutralize??? Read the link below. Time saving measures can cost you bigtime.

No acid is so "pure " that you don't have to do it, becuase the purer the acid the farther to the opposite end of the pH scale it is, the more the need to rinse.

Avoid call backs or unhappy customers. Avoid premature failure of the finishes you use.

My approach to rinsing is this....... Rinse the deck, rinse it again, and when you think it's rinsed enough, rinse it one more time.

I'm aware that many contractors will say that rinsing is not necessary.

I feel that it is, and have for the past 8 years. It seems to me that if I spray oxalic acid, when the water dries and evaporates, it's going to leave a residue on the deck. Why would I want any acid residue under my stain?

I only use citric, always let it dry. That way it brightens better, since it is weak acid.

Oxalic i would rinse for sure.Had a deck years back where i applied it too strong, didnt rinse good ,residue came through the stain
