Question

Over the next few months we'll be running monthly contests. Each month a different prize will be given away to the member who has made the most posts.

For the next 30 days, we'll be looking for our members to share and contribute information to the current threads as well as starting new threads. The posts should have some information to share in them.

Now then, before we share this month's prize, we want to know what you would be most interested in winning. Post your pick in the poll, and we'll let you know shortly which prize it will be....

Beth so all who are voting know what a camelback is how about a picture and let them know what it does.

I am not sure if you have done this in the look whats new forum or not.

Also since I am a Super Moderator I would feel better if my post are not counted for this.

I would rather see others become winners, really.

Here's a picture of the CamelBak hydration system, and som einfo about it....

------------------------------------------------------

After just three hours on the jobsite, performance can be drastically affected by the symptoms of heat stress. OSHA and the EPA recommend that replacing fluids lost from sweating is the single most important way to control heat stress, keeping workers productive, safe and alert.

Maintain your focus

To insure that you are performing at your peak, use the one-liter rule: drink 1 liter for every hour you're out. And, drink frequently a few sips every 15-20 minutes. By the time you're thirsty, you're already dehydrated.

If you don’t drink often, the consequences are painful.

Add heat, humidity, and protective clothing into the picture, and the danger of heat illness is magnified.

CamelBak® is the practical solution.

The CamelBak Solution Staying properly hydrated is easy with the CamelBak® Hands-Free™ Hydration System, a line of backpack-style and waist-mounted hydration products that can be worn all day, keeping water cool and giving workers hands-free access to drinking water while working. The CamelBak Hands-Free Hydration System is the easiest way for individuals to access cool, clean water while working. The result is workers who are healthier, safer and more productive, no matter what the weather or working conditions. CamelBak® systems offer several advantages for workers in hot, humid, strenuous conditions:

Hands-free access - Lets people drink while working

Keeps liquids cool for hours - The reservoir compartment is insulated to keep water cool, which encourages workers to drink more.

Carries more water - Available in up to a 2 Liter capacity.

Portable and easy to use - Helps to stimulate workers to frequently drink small amounts of water, per ACGIH recommendations.

More comfortable - Ergonomically designed for freedom of movement.

Hydration Tips:

Drink before, during and after physical labor to replace body fluid lost in sweating.

Anticipate conditions that will increase the need for water, including high temperature, humidity, full gear, and difficulty of assignment.

Drink every 15-20 minutes to ensure proper hydration – by the time you’re thirsty, you’re already dehydrated.

Keep water within easy reach.

Drink cool water – your body absorbs it more quickly.
