jgotterb 14 Report post Posted January 22, 2010 I am a little confused on how to match nozzles to my pressure washer. My pump is a 5.5 gpm, 3500 psi. So the formula equated 5.8797 which means I need to buy 6.0 size tips, right? Using that same math, can I buy say a set of 4.0 tips and lower my pressure? If the equation is right, then that equals 3062 psi. I'm guessing that's how it works... And I did use the search button, that's where I came up with the info I have so far. Guy B 70 Report post Posted January 22, 2010 J, do a google search... pressure washing nozzle chart. No #4 size nozzle will increase psi and lower gpm. I'm about an hour from you, if you would like to meet sometime give me a call. Whiteville N.C. would be half way for us. I'll bring a rig and try to answer any questions you may have. 910-876-1594
Joe Ortiz 14 Report post Posted January 23, 2010 The bigger the Orfice the less psi and more flow. you dont want to restrict the flow of the pump by putting a smaller size orfice. a 6.0 should be good for that pump.
