Russ Johnson 141 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 HF acid treatment card I highly recommend any users of hydrofluoric acid print this out and keep it in your vehicle in case of an accident so EMTs and hospital doctors can have easy access to it. You'd be surprised how many doctors have no idea how to properly treat HF exposure. This is a little fuzzy. I have this document attached as a pdf file. propressure 14 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 You are right, Russ. I burned myself with HF a year or so ago. I went to the ER, emphatically explained that if was a HF burn, and they gave me Silvadene Cream, which was the wrong treatment. Two days later, went to a walk-in clinic with purple fingernails and unable to bend my fingers, Doc told me that the cream was all they could do. Finally, my family doctor researched treatment and told me that this time it was too late, but next time I needed to treat it just as your info sheet shows. Good stuff. Thanks for putting/keeping the word out.
