Tree Limbs On Roofs

Question

Do you guys ever encounter this problem and what do you do? A lot of houses around here have huge trees shading the houses and in some cases are actually laying on the roofs. What do you do if you are trying to x-jet chems onto a roof? I am concearned that the limb and leaves might be damaged by the chlorine.

Thanks,

Steve

if there small limbs, offer to cut them down for them, for a fee of course. I only ran into it once and priced it into the roof cleaning to cut them back enough to work.

couldnt say what to do if there big, but they probably arent good to have laying on the roof and probably should be removed. I know here it is advised to cut limbs back, mostly for storm purposes, I think

You should also explain that the tree branches close or in conrtact with the roof help create mold and mildew (lack of air circulation, shade will not allow moisture to dry fast enough, dirt from the leaves and branches) and also may damage the shingles. This may also help keep their gutter a bit cleaner (inside and out).

Offer to cut - for a fee!

Carpenter ants!

I cleaned this guys tile roof last month that had years worth of leaves in each valley and packed full gutters. I dont know how many seperate carpenter nests I disturbed, but I was brushing ants off me the whole time.

wish I had taken pictures of the 3 foot tall and 1 foot wide bromolaid growing in the valley.

He wanted to make it look nice for selling! Jeez.
