Stained Red Cedar Shingle House

Question

post-6415-137772319975_thumb.jpgI visited a house that has stained red cedar shingles and the owner wants power washed. There is a nearby power plant and the side of the house pictured has some coal residue that she wants removed. It doesnt look very dirty from looking at it but the power plant is funding a portion of the project and they are going to come back and swab the house to make sure it was cleaned. My question is what type of mix should i use on the house and not affect the stain? Edited by alphaomegapw

My own house is cedar with a red semi-transparent oil stain. Each year I restain one side. I strip it with HD 80/ Base and Acid. It comes out looking just like new wood. No joke, it looks like it was just installed. I have always used HD80 in the past for customers and always get great results.
